As a student, you should be able to get PS CS4E for about $200, smaller amount in your currency. I don't know if that applies to students under college level though (they want you to be serious about it I guess). You should search for student pricing on adobe products.
It's even "cheaper" if you buy one of the packages, as far as price of what you get. I got the entire Design Premium suite (Ps, Ai, Fl, Id, Dw, and Fw) for $400 from journeyed.com.

If I get time, I may post my concept sketch of the new "Ray of Hope" banner, but only if you PROMISE not to laugh. LOL, jk, once you see it you'll realize why I asked Jas to illustrate RoH instead of doing it myself...   And here it is...  And here is the completed version, which will soon be uploaded to the LU Creation Lab!!  Everything you see here was made and photographed by me except the background , which I found online, and the Exarthian (the ship on the right), which I copied from the creation in the LU CL that Farplanet made as concept art. |
