Regulus inclined his head.  "Hazard of my work, I'm afraid.  If I'm going to find my fellow symbiotes, I have to drop hints that they can trust me--that I am indeed one of us.  We've yet to encounter a human who's figured it out, though, so thus far it's worked perfectly."

"Yes, I was at Churchill's speech--all British nobility of a certain rank were required to attend that one.  I apologize if I don't recall who you were at the time--there are only a few of us among the nobility, but as you recall there was a rather high turnover rate during the war, and so many of our kind chose hosts who were in the military.  Dark times, even for our kind...it was around then that I met Jarvis for the first time, actually, though it wasn't until much later that he joined me in my work."

"Well, I'm glad to know that MI5 was a false alarm, though there is still the threat of Kaze Hikari.  I've got gigabytes of data on the man, but nothing useful.  Once I return to England, I'll have to devise a way to draw him in, try and find out what the CIA knows.  Johnson was your last host, you say?  I take it you would very much like to be present when we find the killer?  I'd be more than happy to keep you in the loop, with both the killer and this lunatic Hikari on the loose, it's more important than ever that our kind help each other out when we can."

"Yes, I would like to find the killer... if you could help with that it would be much appreciated. But what do you suspect Hikari of?"

[Flipz]

"At best?  Being an idiot--his antics have gotten the CIA all riled up, to say the least, and there's no telling what they may know now.  At worst, he's deliberately trying to expose us--in which case, he's helping the killer, at least indirectly."

"My resources are at your disposal.  Like I said--strike team."  Regulus grinned; if luck was on his side tonight, Matthews might have or lead them to some clue about the killer's identity, and he'd be that much closer to ensuring the safety and power of his entire race.

"I promised to do a job for infinitus in LA, and then take Daniel to Colorado. Past that I'd enjoy helping. I like to stay low-key but a little action now and then is very enjoyable."

[Flipz]

"All right.  If you have need of me or my team, contact me with this."  Regulus hands over a spare phone, modified with a push-to-talk feature.  "We'll be in L.A. for the next few days, covering our tracks, making sure no one knows that anything took place here, and figuring out if anyone's tracking us.  Good luck, Tyler Matthews.  Stay safe."  Regulus returned to the room, then called Jarvis.

"Sir?"
"You owe me a hundred and fifty pounds."
"You're kidding."
"Johnson."
"Oh.  Well, that was...unexpected."
"But good for us.  Listen, we've got a lot of things sorted out, and new questions have been raised as well.  We need to talk."
"I'll be up shortly.  Is Matthews an ally, then?"
"Unless my senses have completely deserted me, yes, he's telling the truth."
"I'll take care of the others we questioned on the way, then."
"Minimal fatalities, mind-rub if you can.  I'm in a good mood."
"Yes, sir."
"And get General Carter up here, too, where in bloody blazes did he get off to?"
"I'll find out, sir.  I'll be with you shortly.  Jarvis out."

Tyler went back to his room and flopped down on the bed. "False alarm Daniel, sorry.“

OOC: anyone have anything else to do tonight or can we skip to the morning?

OOC: Let's skip to the morning.

IC:

Daniel awoke, anticipating the hopefully inevitable stop in Colorado.

[Flipz]

OOC: I'm fine to timeskip, I've intro'd Regulus' plotlines, now it's just a matter of waiting until I'm needed.

==LA==

After about 30 minutes of driving Tyler and Daniel came to a large complex - Praesidio Industries as it said on the sign. Tyler parked just outside the main gate. "Follow me in 2 minutes, and bring the gym bag" he told Daniel, and grabbed a tote bag out of the trunk, which he then put the large metal sphere he had brought into it. He also exchanged the three handguns he had on his body for revolvers.

==Virginia==

Alexa yawned, and got out of bed. She tugged on a black burnout shirt, some ripped up black jeans, and, after checking the temperature, a knee-length black trenchcoat. She then went out to find Kaze.

[Trijhak]

IC:

"Why was it a false alarm last night?"

[mtmerrick]

"I thought an...... adversary had found me. Turned out to be an old friend.“

[Trijhak]

IC:

"Uh... okay. So I guess now we go about as normal."

[Flipz]

==Gate==
A pair of armed guards stand at the gate, armed with a pair of ak-47s.  A third guard sits in a metal shack, armed with an unusually deadly-looking shotgun.  Neither of them have noticed you yet.  A fourth guard, inside the shack, seems to be preoccupied with computer readout--presumably the access schedule.

"OK then"

Tyler walked off, and Daniel saw him throw a grenade into the guard shack, and as it went off, just walk through the front doors.

A very burly man sat at the receptionists desk. "Does you hav ze appointmentz?" He asked with a heavy accent. Tyler set the bag down on the counter with a loud thunk. "A present for you." he said, and the man opened it. "Bomb?" He muttered to himself. It beeped. "BO-“ he was cut off as the EMP  exploded. The concussive shockwave threw Tyler back against the doors, and the recptionsist against the ceiling. The man fell onto the singed desk and his neck bent at an unnatural angle. Tyler tried to clear his minor concussion before any guards showed up.

"Hurry up Dan" he muttered to himself.

OOC: flipz, you're up

[Flipz]

==guards==

True to form, no less than six different doors opened up, disgorging no less than four rifle- and shotgun-toting guards each into the lobby, all of them opening fire as soon as they saw Matthews.

OOC: if there are any electric components in them, they'd be fried, BTW.

IC: Tyler dove behind the desk and opened fire, quickly picking off the guards.

The guards with rifles quickly realize that their aim-correction technology is failing epically, but the shotgunners continue to fill the area around Tyler with tiny, high-velocity chunks of lead.

Meanwhile, one of the previously-unnoticed snipers swears loudly and chucks his apparently-useless sniper rifle at Tyler as a last resort.

OOC: in about 2/3 of the building, everything with wires is useless FYI.

IC: tyler threw an empty revolver, which hit the nearest shotgun-wielding guard in the face. Tyler grabbed the shotgun and gunned down most of the remaining guards.

IC:

"...what in the world is going on?"

"About time!" Tyler shouted and grabbed an M4 out of the gym bag daniel had brought, ans started shooting down the remaining guards, non-leathally whenever possible.
