The problem with the focus on Kira, and the sudden drop in focus on the guy with the very large sword, was, of course, that the guy with the sword could help back up the girl with the gun. Therefore, Virunk slashed away the soldiers directly surrounding him, his enhanced arm increasing the distance they flew, if they weren't cut in half by the blow. After that, he dashed forward, and attempted to disable the EMP guns of the soldiers.
