I fear I may loose some trees this weekend..

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Thursday morning as it predicts wind gusts of up to 45 mph in the Portland area and central and southern Willamette Valley.

The advisory will be in effect from 2 to 10 p.m. with the strongest winds expected from 4 to 9 p.m. Steady southerly winds should range from 10 to 30 mph during that time, and higher elevations may see gusts reaching 50 mph.

What's that mean for impact?

The weather service said broken or downed tree limbs could become entangled with power lines, causing spotty outages. Tree debris could also delay road travel for all commuters, including bicyclists and pedestrians, during the evening.

On Twitter, the weather service suggests people try to find another spot before parking cars underneath trees on Thursday and Saturday. People should secure any loose outdoor items, such as trash cans and patio furniture, that could blow away.

On Friday, winds will die down to breezy conditions before picking up again Saturday with possibly stronger and more potentially damaging winds, according to the weather service.

Visit OregonLive.com/weather for an hourly breakdown of Thursday's weather and more details to the five-day forecast.
