I live in a place with poor internet as well. There is no cable on my street, so people use either 4G hotspots, satellite internet, or dial up. I get 4 Mb/s on a good day, but most of the time it's closer to 2, and often the signal drops completely for a few hours.

Oddly enough, my friends in the mountains are lucky enough to have a fiber optic line under their one-lane gravel road!
