Urgh...spent the last 2 hours disassembling (sp?) our old computer, with occasional help from my dad. The only things I held onto were the Hard Drive and a CD...Drive? Player? Unit? Not sure what it's called. The thing that plays CDs. =P
There were a couple of Intel chips on the motherboard (again, not sure about name XD) that I wanted to remove, but I couldn't figure it out.
So, if one geekier than me could please advise me on this: will the two items I mentioned be of any use?

54695 If I remember correctly, you can replace them with chips that can hold even more memory. Upgrading is usually expensive, and most people find that it isn't worth it (due to the fact that it can already hold a lot). Again, I'm not sure that is what the chips do. It was quite a while ago that my dad explained the details of a motherboard to me, and I don't remember which part he was talking about when he gave me those details. I'm not a computer expert either, so don't take my ramblings seriously. |

RAM is pretty cheap, no need to try and take them out.
Even here, where all stuff is expensive, they're about 30$ per gigabyte and you're more then fine with 8, and most computers come with 4 and some with 8. I'm no expert tho.
