because a year from now (when W8 hits shelves) people will need new computers. Also, the classic desktop is there, but can't do a lot, including it dosnt have a start menu. Meh, it's pretty easy to get Windows XP. an XP install disk? Yeah, not so much anymore. I've had to look for them. And why on earth would you still want XP? i still don't get why more people don't use Linux; I mean, it doesn't cost a thing to upgrade or buy, after all. =P

Not everyone will need new computers. And for some time the option will remain to use windows 7.
And and XP install disk, you can get them here no problem... It was just an example tho. However if someone is using an older computer, Windows 7 might not work with it (My sister had a similar problem, indirectly resulted in two hard drives breaking)

MTM: Well if people would actually bother to at least add some compatibility coding to stuff or make compatible versions, that whole 'software won't work' issue would be moot. But since no-one likes to do that; you have a point... Though, technically there are ways to run most stuff on Linux.
However, the learning a new system thing is a good point... Though you still don't go into the console that much; it is different than how Windows handles it...
Rakoua: Likely would be the same thing for me; there's pretty much no way any of the computers I have access to would upgrade to 7 from XP. =P
