/EDIT: Okay, this close to switching from ATI to Nvidia. It has a comparable graphics card year wise to what my computer has; and yet it actually, you know, supports DirectX 9.0c. -_-;
Trust me, you won't be sorry. Nvidia chips may have a higher benchmark-score-per-dollar price, but they're still a better value than ATI.
ATI cards have arbitrary hardware incompatibilities, driver issues, spontaneous software issues, and a much shorter lifespan than Nvidia cards. ATIs have higher benchmarks but lower real-world performance.
