Take it from someone who's actually held the controller, it works a lot better than you might think. =P
And it's the launch period, of course there'll be no games right now you're interested in. Think back to the 3DS. =P Launch stuff doesn't appeal to everyone, though I know if I ever get a Wii U, I'll look forward to finally being able to play Mass Effect 3. >_>
/EDIT: Ooh; all the Sonic games are on sale; I'd recommend definitely getting some of them for Mak, they are definitely good games. Though try to avoid Spinball, simply because it's a spinoff pinball game. =P
