32, I think.  QA is an option because my Combusken is atrociously slow for some unfathomable reason, which is confusing to me.   I need a good moveset for all three Hoenn starters, keeping in mind that I only really want to use level-up moves, and that Sceptile needs to keep Leaf Blade because it's a Signature Move.

Yes, I know Leafeon gets it in Gen IV, and who knows how many others in Gen V.   Gen V has been absolutely brutal for Pokemon-specific moves, abilities, and type combinations, it's kind of sad.

In the meantime, here's some help for your Diamond playthrough.  I don't know if you have the ability to export your save file to your computer, but if you figure out a way, you can use this guy's calculator to find the Feebas tiles for the current day.

Flipz: It's not just Leafeon; Gallade gets it as well, in Gen IV. =) But yeah... Though, there's one guaranteed move that's always be a signature... Sketch. =P

Hmm; I might try that. If I wish to, since I already have a Feebas(and nearly the potential to get one from the Pokewalker), over on HGSS. And likely Platinum too. =P Might try it though; I have nothing to lose. =) Well, maybe not that method, I don't have the potential to do so, unfortunately. Need to look into the AR, if only just for the save file backing up capability. Never using it for codes, though, even if it saves time.

You have bunches of traded Pokemon on there, right?  You ought to look up how to manipulate the lottery to get multiple Master Balls, to transfer over to B2/W2.

EDIT: Combusken is Serious, which is a totally neutral Nature.

EDIT 2: So, do you have any good in-game movesets for the starters?

Yeah... About that... You can't transfer items from Gen 4 to Gen 5, thanks to infinite TMs, and the TM move list changing in Gen 5. Otherwise I have infinite Master Balls on Emerald, thanks to the cloning glitch. =P I fully intend on getting as many Master Balls as I can on Black 2, however, since the Lottery returns. =P

Hmm, I don't know why your speed is not good, then... Maybe it'll change upon evolution...

All right, I can work with this!  Better yet, I don't think I'll have to use a move relearner, unless I messed up and overwrote Pursuit on Grovyle (unlikely, since it's been my only Dark-type move available until recently).

This should get me through a few gyms while I breed/train the F4 team I made up several pages back.

EDIT: Route 117 is AMAZING for training Blaziken, he's got a move for everything AND it's decent experience.  Grovyle is going to be a pain to train until I get surf, I'm ashamed to admit he may not be the first starter to evolve.

EDIT 2: Yeah, I'm just going to take on Norman, with Grovyle holding the party EXP Share for some experience.  I'll have expanded horizons then and can level up Grovyle on the water.

Just as a note, though, a lot of them are high level moves; so you might not have them all exactly in time for the E4, but most of them should be ready before then. =)

You know, Spinda was more of a pain than Slaking--I had to deliberately let my Swellow get KO'd (taking MULTIPLE hits) for the free switch-in, and Combusken would have lived through that hit anyway.  Next time I try and train a Shedinja for any reason, the bloody thing had better have a Speed-boosting Nature--my Yellow Flute does nothing if Spinda can Teeter Dance before Sheddy can act.

I have a new problem now, though: who am I going to use as my surf-using HM slave?  I think I'll have access to Tropius soon, for Fly/Strength/whatever, though giving up Linoone will be tough (Pickup FTW).  Suggestions?

Heh; it's not really that hard, no. =P

If you're maining a water Pokemon, just use that; Surf is the best move you can give a Water Pokemon; as Hydro Pump's inaccurate enough to not be useful in-game. Competitively, maybe, but not in-game. Surf's the better move there, and Muddy Water's technically just an in-between move for Surf. =P

Hmm. I'm not entirely certain if that's advisable, given it's accuracy and PP compared to Surf, but it's your decision, and Muddy Water does look cooler. =P

I try to have 6 viable non hm slave members on my team, even though it really is not needed at all, and I try to keep them all the same levels. It is an unnecessary challenge, but it makes the game more fun for me I guess.

Doesn't furret/sentret get surf also?

Good grief, the normal Trainers are SO much more threatening than the Gym trainers!  I really need to go find a good Electric-type so I can own all the annoying bird-users; Flying-types hit four different team members for super-effective damage (one of which is always an instant KO), and my remaining two counters are my HM slave and my Swellow, which I have solely for the purpose of getting it into the Pokedex (though it's handy to have around when a Fighting-type shows up; then again, Combusken has Peck for that. )

Also, I don't have access to Sentret, AFAIK, I'm on Emerald.  I must say, I'm shocked at how many non-Water types get to use Surf; I remember it was a nightmare figuring out my HM Slaves in Platinum and FireRed.

And you have a hard time figuring out HM slaves in Platinum? 0_o I know I'm just walking into a set-up here, but... Bibarel. Best HM slave since Linoone. =P You can literally give him four HM moves, if you wish, including, I believe, Waterfall. Definitely Surf.
