I'm trying a different style for this RPG...the first player to post will select a Story from the list. For each story, they will create different characters. Characters (usually) cannot be moved between Stories. After completing one Story, players can select another one. Sometimes, completing one story may unlock a new story.

Gender: Female
Appearance: Elaine has light brown hair, and green eyes. She typically wears a lightblue shirt with a black vest, and also typically wears blue jeans. Her shoes are black and white.
Bio: Elaine has had a relatively normal life... So far. She grew up around downtown New York, however, moved when she was about 12. An incident in her youth has caused her to gain a fear of birds, however.
Worst Fear: Birds.

Appearance: Tad has short blonde curly hair, and hazel eyes. he typically wears a black shirt with an orange vest, and also typically wears black jeans. His work boots are brown.
Bio: Tad has had an extremel life... So far. he grew up around downtown Onionville, however, moved when he was about 15. An incident in his youth has caused him to gain a fear of money, however, he still feels that one day his dream will arrive...

Appearance: Kirena is slightly taller than average. She usually wears jeans and a blue t-shirt. Her lavender hair does not quite reach her shoulders.
Bio: Kirena has a tendency to scare easily. She has had the same nightmare every night for the past three weeks.
Worst Fear: For someone as easily scared as Kirena...everything.

Appearance: The Stranger wears a brown trench coat and a brown fedora. His face is perpetually in shadow - even shining a flashlight in his face would not allow you to see it.
Bio: The Stranger wanders the mysterious mansion. He never speaks.

And oh? First Poster? Who's the first poster? *Looks around, and only sees me* Ah. Guess that explains the Blade thing. =P

Are you sure? There is a 90% chance that you cannot change stories until you beat the chosen story.

Yes, Fi, there is a 90% chance that I am sure. =P

OK, my NPC profiles are added (more may appear as the story progresses). If you want to add any more characters, this is your last chance.

Just a quick question first, what would it take for a recurring char to be able to be in all four stories? =P

Perhaps being Alone will be a big deal after all.

@Blade: First requirement: They have to survive. Second: I have to feel like letting them move to another story. :P

Could they just inherently do that? =P

Inherently survive? Well, this uses Flipz's Second Chance system, and if a character dies even once, the odds that I'll let them into the next Story... >:D

I'm not talking that, since I'd more or less try my hardest to not mess up. =P Either way, doesn't matter, I don't need another character. =P

Then, inherently do what?

I'm a Tad scared to death

OOC: No, since the stories are not really related.


IC: "Lilith?" Kirena called the name of her younger sister again. While they had been out on a picnic, Lilith had run off after a butterfly, and had not returned. "Lilith?" Kirena had followed Lilith's footprints to a small clearing. Before her was a huge, dilapidated mansion. Lilith's muddy footprints led inside. Kirena tried the door, but it was locked. "Hello? Anybody home?"

Elaine walked by a mansion. It was old and run down, as most stereotypical non-inhabited mansions were, however, when Elaine looked over at the mansion, she saw someone she thought she knew, and, with a mischievous look on her face, slowly approached the girl from behind.
"Boo!" Elaine called out, a mischievous smile on her face.

OOC: =P

Kirena jumped easily five feet. "EEEKKK!"

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine chuckled to herself, as she smiled apologetically.
"Sorry 'bout that, just wanted to have a little fun with you." Elaine said, though she couldn't stop laughing.

 :o  Suddenly a man appeared with a smile and asked  IC  Hello my dears, does your Mother know you are out this late?

OOC: Not quite. You should phrase it as: IC: Suddenly a man appeared with a smile and asked "Hello my dears, does your Mother know you are out this late"?

IC: Kirena glared at Elaine. "Don't do that!"
She turned to the man. "Um...who are you?"

IC: (still pleasant says) My name is Tad, I live here, what are your names?

OOC: Don't forget to put ""s around speech.
IC: (Kirena): *suspicious* "Kirena. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm trying to find my little sister."

There was brief movement in an upper floor window.

Elaine looked up, and frowned slightly.
"If you're supposedly the owner of the house, then why is there movement up there?" Elaine asked, as she raised a skeptical eyebrow. She was slightly suspicious as well, but kept her thoughts to herself, for the moment.

"I think he means he lives in the village. Nobody's lived here in 150 years. Do you ever pay attention in history class?"

IC Tad

"I did not say I was the owner, I simply said I lived here"

OOC: There are no living beings in the mansion. So I'm assuming that means he lives in the village nearby, like Elaine and Kirena.

IC: "Elaine, help me get inside. I think Lilith went in there."

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine smiled sheepishly, as she scratched the back of her head.
"Not really. I usually either think of other stuff, or just plain fall asleep." Elaine admitted, as she looked back to the window with a frown.
"I'm certain I saw something in that window, though..." Elaine said, and then heard what Kirena said.
"Sure. Maybe that's who I saw...?" Elaine asked, as she nodded, and walked up to the door, and examined it closely.

IC Tad "We don't look at that place any more, the dreams have long since faded"

OOC, not sure I want to be a ghost

Kirena ignored the man and examined the door as well. "It's locked. So how did Lilith get in?"

-==IC: Elaine==-

"I'm not sure... Are there any other entrances?" Elaine asked, as she looked around, to see if there were any windows that could be entered or so.

"None that I see..."

Elaine frowned, and, though everyone had been saying it was locked, tried the door anyway, just in case.

The door opened easily.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, and then looked at Kirena.
"Hmm... Looks like it wasn't locked after all... Who's first?" Elaine asked, as this didn't seem right, for some reason.

Kirena entered the house. "LILITH?"

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine sighed, as she followed Kirena silently.
Of all the things to do when you first enter a run down mansion, she chooses 'yell out and alert people that you're there'... Really... Elaine thought, and shook her head as she sighed again.

"Lilith? Her footprints end right here...where is she?"

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, as she looked around the room.
"I have a bad feeling about this..." Elaine muttered, not liking this one bit.

OOC: I'm gonna assume Legodac's char followed the girls in, since this story takes place entirely inside the mansion.

IC: The door closed behind them.

-==IC: Elaine==-

"Aaaaand that just entirely confirmed my bad feeling." Elaine said with a sigh, as she shook her head.

Kirena tried the door. "It's locked!"

Faint music could be heard.

OOC: To the tune of "Hush little baby".

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, as Kirena confirmed her suspicions, and she heard music in the background.
Music's never a good sign either. Elaine noted, as she sighed.

Ic "don't say a word, Papa's gonna buy you a mocking bird" As Tad sang, the house began to...

The music stopped. There was movement in the shadows ahead of Kirena.

Ic "Tad says again, why are you here?"

OOC: Only put ""s around what your character is saying, not your entire IC.
IC: A man stepped out of the shadows. He wore a brown trench coat and a fedora. His face was in shadow.

OOC, so you have three characters right

Ic Tad "I still haven't heard an answer as to why you girls are here in my home, I live a private life and do not wish to be anything in this this life"

OOC: OK, I'll have to stop you there.
No player character can be a resident of the mansion.

"Who are you...?" Elaine asked, as she was suspicious of the Fedora guy.

The man said nothing. He turned and vanished back into the shadows.

Elaine frowned, and looked at Kirena.
"We should find Lilith, and get out of here..."

Kirena knelt by where Lilith's footprints ended. She tapped on the floor. It felt solid.

-==IC: Elaine==-

"I've gotta ask... What is going on here...?" Elaine asked with a frown, as she shook her head, confused.

The voice of a young child echoed throughout the house for a few moments.
"Hush little baby, don't say a word...mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird..."

OOC: By young, I mean between three and four.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, as she looked at Kirena, and then looked in the direction the sound was coming from.

The sound was coming from upstairs. It stopped after a minute.

-==IC: Elaine==-

"Should we investigate...?" Elaine asked, as she frowned again.

"How do we get there?"

As Kirena said that, she noticed a staircase up ahead.

"Using that staircase?" Elaine asked, as she headed toward it.

Kirena stepped on the staircase. Then, she fell through the staircase as three of the steps gave way below her.

"Kirena?!" Elaine yelled out, as she ran toward the stairs, a look of shock on her face.

"Ow. I'm OK, I landed in what looks like a servant's room. There's a diary...a bed...YEEEEEKKK!!! ...And a skeleton of the servant that used to live here..."

-==IC: Elaine==-

"I see..." Elaine said, and frowned.
"Do you want me to help you?" Elaine asked, though wasn't sure how she'd get there.

"C...could you unlock the door, please? Yeesh..that skeleton is staring at me..."

OOC: Collect and read all the Diaries in a Story for a reward. However, you already missed one, and you can't get it anymore.

OOC: ... Oh yes, that makes perfect sense. ::)

"I'll try and figure out a way to get there, alright?" Elaine said, as she looked around for where she hoped was the right way(left), and headed in that direction.

OOC: Your own fault for trying the door instead of looking around and finding the Groundskeeper's House. :P
IC: "Hurry please."
OOC: Here's an example of how far ahead I plan these: Before she was a S.H.I.R.A character, Luna Tome was originally planned to be an NPC in the second Alone story.

OOC: I didn't even know about the existence of these diaries, or that house, so... =P

Elaine walked forward, and then looked around, as she turned right, and headed straight down that hall, hoping that she could find out where the stairs down were.

OOC: Not my fault. (Well, maybe it is.) xP If I'm in a good mood, I'll give you another way to get that diary.
IC: "Um...that skeleton is really creeping me out. And reading the diary creeped me out even more. Where are you?"

OOC: BTW, Kirena landed at point 5.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine turned to the right, headed straight a little ways, then turned left again, as she continued down that weird hall-like area, and then turned left again, relying pretty much entirely on instinct at that point.

OOC: She's headed toward the stairs. =P

OOC: heading to the basement, are we? :3

IC; Tad thinks to himself, perhaps a soliloquy "I must find a way to keep them all out of the basement"

OOC: Isn't that where Kirena ended up? 0_o

OOC; Are you asking me if she is still down there?

OOC: No, I'm asking Truth if she had actually fallen to the basement or not.

OOC: No, Kirena landed in the Servant's quarters. they're under the staircase, but still on the first floor.

OOC: Oh, well whoops, I was meaning to go to the servant's room, but thought it was in the basement. >>'

OOC: So, turn around. :P

Elaine paused, and thought about something.
Wait, Kirena's voice was closer than it should be if she was in the basement... Elaine thought, and backtracked her steps to where the back of the stairs should be.

"Hurry up!"

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine finally reached the door to the servant's room, and tried it.

"Elaine? That you? It's locked from your side."

-==IC: Elaine==-

"Alright..." Elaine said, and tried to kick the door in.

"You could have just unlocked it, but whatever works, I guess."

-==IC: Elaine==-

"I don't know where the key is." Elaine said with a shrug.

"Yeah...anyway, thanks for helping."

-==IC: Elaine==-

"No prob." Elaine said with a nod, and frowned.
"So, what now?"

"You should read this diary."

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine nodded, and took the diary, and then read it.

The Master is acting very odd indeed. He spends all day in the basement, and when he comes up, all his clothes smell like sulfur! Washing them all will be quite a chore...

Master has clearly gone mad. He's locked me in my room, and says I'll stay in here until I starve to death. And even now, I can hear him in the basement, chanting. He's been acting odd ever since his wife died, but I had no idea he had so totally lost his mind.

Elaine frowned slightly, but continued to read none-the-less.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, and shook her head.
"What could have happened...?"

"Whatever it was, it wasn't good..."
In spite of her utter terror, Kirena yawned.

-==IC: Elaine==-

"What do you think we should do now?" Elaine asked, with a frown.

*yawns again*
"Find a way out!"

-==IC: Elaine==-

"And about Lilith?" Elaine pointed out, as she raised her eyebrow.

Kirena sweatdropped. "We need to find her too. I hope nothing happened to her..."

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine nodded, and looked around.
"Though where to look is the question..."

The music began playing upstairs again.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, as she heard the music again.
"Think we should investigate that, or see what we can find out down here?"

"Whatever we do, we should stick togeth-EEP!"
The man in the trench coat and fedora was standing at the entrance to the room.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, as the fedora guy appeared again.
"What do you want...?"

The man said nothing. It was hard to tell what he was thinking as his face could not be seen, but he seemed to be regarding Kirena and Elaine with pity.

"Would you say something?" Elaine asked, with a frown on her face.

The Stranger shook his head sadly.

Kirena spoke up timidly. "I...don't think he can."

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine thought for a moment, and then looked at the stranger with a slight smile.
"Could you help us find her sister?" Elaine asked, as she pointed at Kirena.

IC Tad

Tad looked down and wondered if the outcome would help his plight, then smiled and thought, these girls must be ready, for a fight

OOC: Er...where is Tad?

IC: The Stranger nodded.

OOC, I thought you guys told me Tad had to be a ghost, so he`s like, wherever he wants to be

OOC: No. I said Tad COULDN'T be a ghost and was not allowed to be a resident of the Mansion.

Elaine nodded in response.
"Do you happen to know where she is?" Elaine asked, curious.

The man pointed down.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine thought for a moment.
"So, she's in the basement then? Thank you." Elaine said with a smile, as she headed back in the direction she had been going toward before, prior to realizing Kirena hadn't fallen to the basement.

As Elaine approached the door leading to the basement, she felt an intense pressure.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine froze in her tracks, and frowned.
"What the...?" Elaine asked, as she narrowed her eyes, finding that weird.

The pressure was almost unbearable.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine growled, and gripped her head.
"What's causing this...?"

Kirena collapsed to her knees. "Urgh...Hurts...the closer we get to the door...Uuunnnhhh"

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine growled, and then backed up a bit, as she panted.
"What... could be... causing that...?" Elaine wondered, as she looked at the door.

"I...don't...know...ugh..."
As Elaine backed away from the door, the pressure decreased.

-==IC: Elaine==-

"Get away from the door..." Elaine said, as she realized whatever was behind it, was causing the pressure.

Kirena stumbled backwards. The pressure decreased.

-==IC: Elaine==-

"That door is causing this somehow..." Elaine theorized with a frown.

"Or something BEHIND the door."

*Singing from upstairs again*

-==IC: Elaine==-

"That's pretty much what I was trying to say." Elaine said with a chuckle.

"How can you laugh at a -yawn- time like this?!"

-==IC: Elaine==-

"If we didn't, we likely wouldn't be able to stay ourselves." Elaine pointed out, as she frowned.
"Now where should we look, though...?"

"We can probably get upstairs if we watch our step on the staircase."

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine nodded, as the two began to work their way back.

Kirena carefully stepped over the hole in the stairs.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine did the same, as she followed Kirena to the second floor.

OOC: Here's the map.

Kirena looked around. "I guess we should follow the music..."

Elaine nodded, and tried to hear where the music was coming from.

Just ahead of them were two rooms: A small one (4), and a locked large one (5). It was from the latter that the singing was coming from.

Elaine walked up tot the door, and frowned.
"It's locked." She said, and thought for a moment, as she tried what she did before, and attempted to kick the door in.

Elaine hurt her foot.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine winced, as she pulled her foot back, and held it for a moment.
"That won't work, apparently."

Kirena thought for a moment. "Maybe there's a key somewhere? (4)"

-==IC: Elaine==-

"Hopefully..." Elaine said with a wince, as she started to look around, and then limped toward the nearest room.

There was a diary, a key, and a bed. The rest of the room was empty.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine walked over to the diary, and then picked it up.

Kirena picked up the key. "I bet this will unlock that locked door."

OOC: Ever notice how the Zelda games highlight text you would have noticed anyway? :P

OOC: Always do. =P

-==IC: Elaine==-

"Probably would." Elaine agreed, as she picked up the diary, and nodded.
"Let's go try it."

As they neared the door, the music stopped.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, as she cautiously approached the door.

Silence.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine motioned for Kirena to open the door slowly.

Kirena opened the door, her hands shaking.
The door opened to reveal a child's bedroom. A young girl was sitting on the floor, facing away from Elaine and Kirena.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned slightly, as she slowly walked into the room, and approached the girl with caution, wondering if this was Kirena's sister.

OOC: Since you didn't describe her, I'm not sure, even though Elaine'd probably recognize her on sight. =P

OOC: No, too young to be Lilith.

IC: The child did not move.

OOC: Figured. =P

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, as she recognized that the girl was not Lilith then. However, that left the question of who she was...

The girl sang quietly. "Hush little Elaine, don't say a word...Momma's gonna...KILL YOU."

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine frowned, as she stepped back slightly, and got ready to defend herself if needed.
How does she know my name? Elaine thought with a bad feeling.

The child stood, still facing away from Kirena and Elaine.

The door closed of its own accord.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine whirled around quickly, and then turned back, a frown on her face then.

The child slowly turned her head...and kept turning it...until it had rotated 360°.

The tune for "hush little baby" began to play again, but very slowly.

Elaine narrowed her eyes, as she looked around the room carefully.

There were many dolls on the shelves. All the dolls began to move...

-==IC: Elaine==-

"Oh great, just what we need, killer dolls..." Elaine muttered, as she tried to run over to one, and then throw it at the girl, realizing that the girl was not good at all.

The doll leaped onto Elaine.

Kirena was trembling, but still managed to speak. "Where-Where's my sister?!"

The child spoke without turning to face Kirena. "We fed her to the hole in the basement. Just like we'll do to you..."

Elaine raised her arm as the doll leaped at her. As that happened, she swung her arm toward the weird girl; aiming to bat the doll away toward the child.

The doll floated over her hand and landed on her head.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine's eyebrow twitched, as she grabbed at the doll, aiming to grab it and throw it at the girl.

The doll bit her.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine growled, as she grabbed the opposite part of the doll, and attempted to toss it away then.

The doll flew back at her, as all the other dolls did the same.

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine jumped to the side quickly, in order to try and avoid the killer dolls.

The dolls continued to swarm as Kirena hid in the corner.

Elaine jumped to the right again, as she tried to figure out a way to stop this from working.

"Hush little baby, don't try to fight...Mommy's gonna make it all alright..."

-==IC: Elaine==-

Elaine narrowed her eyes at the weird girl, as she continued to look around the room for anything out of the... err... extraordinary.
