Appearance: Extremely short dark blue hair, red eyes, average height. Wears a metallic purple jumpsuit.
Bio: Nami is rather eccentric, but overall is friendly and fairly smart. Currently trying to figure out why she always seems to have a frozen trout in her pocket. She adores sushi, and has caused several "all you can eat" sushi places to run out of food.

Name: Leila Otomo
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Appearance: Wavy blonde hair that comes down to her feet and pale blue eyes. Her outfit consists of white pants, a white shirt, and a white miniskirt over her pants.
Bio: Leila is a bit of a party animal. She has few morals, since morals get in the way of fun. For some reason, she is utterly terrified of males, though she does her best to hide it.
Religion: Hedonism.

Name: Misu Rami
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Appearance: Still trying to come up with a good way to write it.
Bio: Misu is generally nice, but if you annoy her, she WILL kick you through a wall.


Name: Kira Kara
Gender: Female.
Age: 18
Appearance: Kira has deep violet hair, which is very short at only three inches long. Her eyes are a greenish blue, which reflects her eccentricity along with her ideals of justice. She is of average height, and prefers shirts that have a meme or other sort of popular expression. Along with all that, she always wears high-heeled shoes, even if the situation is not desirable for wearing such shoes.
Bio: Kira is a wellspring of useless trivia, and knows random facts for every occasion. She is also a huge nerd, and is often either playing on her 3DS or her custom built computer.  She can also recognise most random anime quotes, and even remember which episode they're from.

Name: Shell Demij
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Appearance: Blonde hair that goes down to her waist (dyed- her natural hair is white), moderately dark skin (approx  #8A4117). Her clothes are much simpler than those worn by the others.
Bio: Shell is the oldest and most mature of the girls...but given how immature the others are, that's not saying much. Shell isn't her real name...

Name: James Kara
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearance: Dresses casually - jeans and a t-shirt.
Bio: Kira's younger brother. Currently "visiting" his sister (he got kicked out of his prior home). Irresponsible and lazy, he still wants to do the right thing.

Bio: Cheshire Cat may be better known as "the Colour Murderer", the serial killer known for painting his victims bright colours after killing them.

Bio: Better known as the "False Diamond Murderer", Queen of Hearts always plants a fake diamond on her victim's corpse, and is also known for her method of killing: All her victims were stabbed in the head with an unknown weapon.. Despite this, there is never any evidence as to who she is.

Appearance: Wears a suit similar to Sebastian's from Black Butler. Has long black hair that he keeps hidden beneath his hat. His eyes are never seen.
Bio: Damien is rather eccentric, and nobody really likes him aside from Emma. He is always calm and serious, but rumour has it he's a talented singer.

Age: 20s.
Appearance: Police officer's uniform. Keeps his hat tilted over his eyes at all times.
Bio: Officer Drow is in charge of investigating the recent murders.

Bio: Officer Cole (as he prefers to be called) is on Michael Drow's team.

He has been kicked out of a school earlier in his life for getting into a fight with a bully who threatened one of his friends there, and that never really got better as the years went on. He has a good sense of justice; but doesn't have the greatest way of showing it all the time, and seems overconfident at time, also seeming cold at other times.

Bio: Cassie apparently moved to the States two years ago, however, there are no real records of her around; especially under that name. It is unknown who she is, however, as no-one has actually met her before.

OOC: Just to go with your apparent naming scheme, and because I'm lazy... here's Kaze. Not the Kaze we know of, however... Also, I see you have a rule against the Fourth Wall's Knowledge. =P

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Intro: A night at the ball~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

           The girl known as the Queen of Hearts smirked as she watched the dancers. She loved attending dances, especially when she got to end the evening with a murder. Tonight, of course, she would not be killing the target - Cheshire Cat, her partner, had won the coin toss.

         She eagerly watched the numbers above the target's head tick down, getting closer and closer to zero. Most people couldn't see the lifespans of others - it was only thanks to Brother Grimm that she and Cheshire Cat could see the timers. They couldn't see their own, though, nor could they see the timers of other in their group. Only Brother Grimm could do that.

        The Queen was not dancing - she preferred to watch. Her partner; however, loved to dance, and by now he had danced with every woman at the ball besides the target. This was his routine, of course - they both had little rituals they liked to do before disposing of their victim. The Queen liked to sing as she dealt with the target, while the Cat preferred to spend the time leading up to the deed dancing.

        As that dance ended, the Cat stealthily excused himself from the room. He would be gone until after the next (and final) dance, at which point he would emerge and tell the target that a stranger had dropped off a letter for her, ensuring she would stay behind while he went to find the letter. Once everyone else had left, the Queen would turn off the lights, and the Cat would deal with the victim. His current theme was "The American Flag" - The target's blue dress, red blood, and white skin. He had decided to stick with easy colour themes from now on - he had had a hard time doing his job when his theme was "Hot pink  and yellow".

         As the final dance ended, the Queen of Hearts allowed herself a cruel smile. She loved her job.

The sound of the television woke Misu. She looked groggily around the room, trying to remember who she was. For a minute, she was quite certain she was Peter Pan. "What's going on?" She asked finally. "It's two in the morning."

"Can't sleep." Kira replied. "Sorry, I'll turn down the volume. Forgot what a light sleeper you are."
Kira was watching the news, which was reporting on a murder that had just taken place. "The world's getting more dangerous every day..." Misu muttered. "That's why I keep a knife in my left sock." Kira replied. "Of course, it does hurt when I run."
Misu rolled her eyes and went back to bed.



OOC: You may now play.

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze frowned, as he held his phone in his hand. He had been woken up by beeping that represented disturbing news updates; specifically that there had been a dangerous crime recently. Kaze watched the news footage with a frown, as he wore a green leather jacket to try and keep himself slightly warm, since the sun hadn't come up yet. However, he was fully awake by then, all thoughts of sleeping put out of his mind by the update.
So many crimes; and yet I can't stop one of them. I need to work at this more... Kaze thought, and yawned slightly, as he scratched his head, and stood up. The young man with wavy brown hair walked toward the door to his apartment, not entirely certain what there was to do at about 2:30 in the morning; but he wasn't too concerned.
Insomnia works too.

A tall man in a black tailcoat bumped into Kaze. "Oh, excuse me." he said, speaking in a British accent. "I was not looking where I was going."

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze stumbled backward slightly after being bumped, and then looked to see what had hit him, but nodded.
"It's alright... I probably should've watched where I was going too." Kaze stated offhandedly, with a slight shrug.

"Then we are both at fault." *bows*
The man then turned and vanished down an alley.


OOC: Does Kaze have a house, or is he looking for one?

OOC: Well, he currently has a temporary apartment, but if we're wanting him to look for one for plot reasons, that is indeed a possibility. =)

-==IC: Kaze==-

"... That was odd." Kaze said, and shook his head, as he walked off with a sigh. He wondered what was up with that man's weird demeanor, but shrugged it off, since it was none of his concern, though he did subconsciously check to make sure nothing had been stolen in the process, since he had heard that was a possibility at times with situations like that.

OOC: well, it would be easier if all the good characters lived together. :P
Communication would certainly be faster.

IC: "Yes, interesting night indeed. One never knows who one might meet. Ehehehe." The speaker, another man in ragged clothes, walked past Kaze as well, though he headed in a different direction as the first man. "Stop by my shop one day..."

OOC: Tinker. :P

OOC: Alright then, fair enough. =P

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze blinked as he looked back at the second man, and then shook his head, and he just continued walking the way he had been walking before.

OOC: Find a reason for him to read a newspaper.

OOC: You're Mr. Plot Master, you should have him simply stumble over a newspaper. =P

OOC: Fine. ::)

IC: A sudden gust of wind blew a newspaper into Kaze's face.

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze scowled, as he pulled the newspaper out of his face, however, paused as he saw an want ad for a roommate. Kaze blinked, as he wondered how this newspaper just so happened to blow in his face at that moment, but shrugged, as it would hopefully be better than his current apartment, and offer a better lease. Making a quick decision, he decided to head to the location, not even taking the time into account.

OOC: I'm assuming he rang the doorbell.

IC: (Kira): "...I'm probably going to be stabbed as soon as I open the door..."


(Misu): *half asleep* "So go get stabbed and leave me alone."

(Leila): "What time is it?"

(Kira): "3 in the morning, go back to sleep."
*Kira opens the door*

"Yo." Kaze said, raising his hand in a friendly greeting, as he yawned again, but ignored that.
"You have a want ad in the paper?"

(Kira): "It's three in the morning."

OOC:

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Couldn't sleep." Kaze said with a shrug.
"Besides, by the quickness you answered the door, I'd guess you couldn't either." Kaze pointed out, as he raised an eyebrow at the girl.

"Brilliant deduction, Sherlock."

(Misu): "Go talk somewhere else..."

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze blinked, as he heard the other girl.
"How many people are here already?" Kaze asked, confused, as the ad hadn't said anything about that, which he held up, just in case kira still didn't believe him.

"Me, Misu, Shell, my idiot brother, Leila, and Nami."

Leila walked into the room, half asleep still. She was wearing pink pajamas with pictures of Ewoks on them.

*yawns* "Kira, wh-, huh, he's kinda cute."

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze nodded at the mention of the people.
"Yo. I'm Kaze." Kaze said, half-waving like before at the girl who had shown up behind Kira.

"Weird name. I'm going back to bed."

(Kira): "I'm going to try to sleep too. You can sleep...um...well, we haven't set up any other beds yet, so...the floor...I guess..."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Okay..." kaze said with a blink, not expecting to actually have been accepted to sleep there that night, but shrugged, and put the bag that he had decided to bring down on the floor, as he laid down, and attempted to go to sleep... However, he instead eventually just managed to stare at the ceiling for most of the night, not being able to go to sleep.

~~~~~~~Next Morning~~~~~~~~~

(Nami): "Shell, there's a boy lying on the floor."

(Shell): "It's too early for this..."

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze blinked, as he opened his eyes, and then sat up, wincing at the light.
I actually did fall asleep after all... That's a first. Kaze thought, as he blinked a few more times, getting adjusted to the light again, however, it was still taking a while.
"Light." Kaze stated, hoping that the girls got the idea, and tried to close the curtains or blinds, or whatever there was.

OOC: About now is likely when comic relief kicks in, I believe. =P

(Nami): "That's a weird name."

(Misu): *yawns* "Pocket check."

*Nami reaches into a pocket in her pajama and pulls out a frozen trout*

(Nami): "Where the heck do these keep coming from?!"

(Shell): "What does everyone want for breakfast?"

(Misu): "Blueberry Waffles."
(Nami): "Sushi."
(Leila): "Anything but oatmeal."
(Kira): "Okonomiyaki."

(Shell): "Kira, I have no idea what that is."

(Kira): "It's sort of a yam pancake with cabbage, bacon, and Worcestershire sauce on top."

OOC: I've actually had Okonomiyaki...kinda weird, but I liked it.

-==IC: Kaze==-

"I'll just have cereal..." Kaze said with a sigh, still slightly squinting against the light, as he stood up, and actually looked around.
"Was half wondering if last night was a dream, but those thoughts were erased before they even really formed, given that you woke me up by talking." Kaze said, and shrugged.

(Kira): "So...who are you, anyway?"

(Nami): "Yeah, Nami wants to know too."

OOC: Yes, Nami's sorta a replacement Shiza. A lot more sane though.

OOC: Nami's probably Kaila and Shiza's ancestor. =P It's just that the family tree got crazier as time went on. =P

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Kaze Hikari. Technically a student, but I also try to protect the peace as best as I can." Kaze said with a dismissive shrug, still not used to the light yet, which was ironic, considering his last name meant light in Japanese.
"... I also work better at night." Kaze said, referring to the light shining through the window, but his eyes were adjusting. Just not that quickly, considering that he was quickly becoming nocturnal.

(Nami): "....you sound more like a deranged serial killer to me."

(Misu): "Leila, where's my good shirt?"

(Leila): "Why do you always assume I took it?"

(Misu): "Because you're always the one that takes it."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Just because I'm nocturnal doesn't mean I'm a serial killer..." Kaze said with a sigh.
"I try to find the people who actually are serial killers; the reason I'm still a student, is to try and eventually become a detective, to curb crime." Kaze explained, as he leaned back, forgetting he was still on the floor for a moment.

(Nami): "Nami has a mystery for you. Why is there always a frozen trout in my pocket?"


(Shell): "Breakfast!"


~~~~Breakfast~~~~
Leila started at her oatmeal with barely-contained hatred. "We meet again..."


(Kira): "Most people are bored by oatmeal. Leila actively despises it."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"I see..." Kaze said, raising a skeptical eyebrow at Leila, but shrugged, and simply ate his breakfast in response.

(Misu): "We never actually introduced ourselves. I'm Misu." She held out her hand for him to shake.

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze nodded, and shook Misu's hand.
"I'm Kaze."

(Shell): "Shell."

(Nami): "Nami's name is Nami. Please excuse my weird way of talking."

Kira smiled at Kaze. "I'm Kira."

The only girl who did not shake Kaze's hand was Leila, who simply nodded and gave an obviously fake smile.


OOC: For the record, Leila's sitting as far away from Kaze as she can.

OOC: *Notices Sheldon quote on the last page* So you HAVE seen that episode. *Suspicious glance*

Kaze noticed, and motioned to her.
"Who's the ray of sunlight over there?"

OOC: =P

OOC: Uh...which quote? ^^;


IC: (Leila): *Blushes* "Er, I'm Leila. Sorry for not shaking your hand, it's just...well...I'm...kinda creeped out by boys."

OOC: "Why does everyone keep telling me what time it is?"

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Ah, I see. I understand." Kaze said with a seemingly knowing nod, though he likely misunderstood the comment as well.

OOC: Yeah, I've seen that episode a few times. But I still haven't seen most of the previous season..

IC: (Shell): "So, Kaze, tell us a bit about yourself. Kira, no DS at the table."

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze proceeded to explain about his hobbies, and what his ideals were.

(Kira): "I think you'll fit in nicely."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Yeah?" Kaze asked, not sure what she meant by that.

(Misu): "Yeah, I think we'll get along pretty well. Well, most of us..not sure about Leila."

(Leila): "Boys creep me out, that doesn't mean I can't get along with them on occasion."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Uh-huh. Right then." Kaze said, directing that comment more or less right at Leila, however, he paused.
"What do you all do anyway?" Kaze asked, since everyone just seemed to be eating breakfast at that moment.

(Shell): "Uh...We..."

(Kira): "DIE AURUM SCUM!"

(Misu): "///"

(Nami): "Well, Kira's friends with a man in the police force. He said we can help look into the murders if we want - personally, it grosses Nami out, but Kira wants to become a cop, so..."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"That's a pretty cool goal." Kaze said with a nod.
"As for those murders... They've been bugging me, too... If you're going to look into them, I want in; I want to look into them myself." Kaze said, though he did eye Kira oddly, wondering if she was all there; though he didn't voice those opinions.

OOC: Remember, Kira's playing her 3DS. :P

IC:
(Misu): "Actually, last night's murder happened at a hotel a few blocks away. We could walk there in less that five minutes. Leila, let go."

(Leila): "You're no fun." *mimes being stabbed in the heart*

(Shell): "Just sit farther away from her, Misu."

(Misu): "I tried. She follows me."

OOC: Aaah, that explains the no DS comment. xD

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze simply blinked, but nodded.
"That sounds like a good idea. Though, I wonder why it was so close..."

"It wasn't the other times."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Which makes it even odder..."

(Kira): "Not really. The murders have been at random locations since they started."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Now that she mentions it, she does have a point. Though there must be some pattern to them..."

"Yeah...there's no such thing as a crime with no motive..."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Exactly. If we find the motive, we might be able to find a pattern behind everything; which could lead up to who did this."

(Shell): "Well, since we seem to be done with breakfast, why don't we go check out the hotel where the murder happened? Kira, put away the DS. And where's your brother?"

(Kira): "Make freaky alien lemonade! Er, sorry. What?"

(Shell): "Where's your brother?"

*Kira shrugs* "Don't know, don't care."

OOC: Check your PMs.

"Well, either way, I agree with Shell. if we're not doing anything else, that's the best idea." Kaze said with a nod, ignoring Kira's outburst that time, finally realizing why she was making the comments.

OOC: *bursts out laughing*

OOC: Yeah, found that earlier; it's hilarious how well it goes together. =P

~~~~At the Hotel~~~~~

(Misu): "Fancy place..."


(Leila): *looking at a young woman being interviewed by the police* "Sparkly..."

(Nami): "Think they have a sushi bar here?"

(Shell): "Trying to keep them under control is harder than herding cats..."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"I can see that..." Kaze said, blinking, as he saw everyone get distracted by other things.
"But we need to focus on what we came here for, to find out information."

*A police officer moonwalks over*

"Sorry kids, this is a crime scene."

OOC: Unless otherwise stated, assume Officer Drow gets around by moonwalking. :P

"... Why are you moonwalking?" Kaze asked, raising a skeptical eyebrow.

"Why aren't you?"

(Misu): *whispering to Shell* "If he's in charge of the investigation, no wonder nobody's been caught."

(Shell): *Whispering* "Eccentric isn't the same as incompetent." 

(Leila): *still staring at the young woman* "Sparkles..."

Officer Drow spun on his heel, pulled a quarter out of his pocket, and began tossing it into the air as he spoke. "So, what exactly brings you kiddies here?"

-==IC: Kaze==-

"We wish to help look into the recent crimes committed, like the one last night." Kaze explained, as he looked to Kira to explain further.

Kira nodded. "Exactly. I'm friends with the chief of police, and he said-"

"Wait." Officer Drow interrupted. "Would your name be Kira Kara?"

"Yes?"

"We have your brother in custody."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"What? Why?" Kaze asked with a frown, curious, as he hadn't heard anything about that; not that he knew anything about anything relating to his new roommates yet.

"We caught him slapping a hobo."


(Kira): "..."

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze muttered something about finally understanding why the murderers hadn't been caught yet, but then sighed.
"Anyway... Can we go back to the initial topic for the moment...?"

"Sorry, but I can't let just anyone investigate the crime scene."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Kaze Hikari, Detective in Training here. I think that I'm a little more than 'just anyone'." Kaze stated, as he turned his head away uninterestedly.

"Well, we've already scanned the scene, so why not. Knock yourselves out." 

(Kira): "I think the girl in the sparkly dress is staring at us."

(Misu): "She probably noticed Leila staring at her."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Right." Kaze said with a nod, and looked over at Kira, confused, and then looked over, finally noticing the sparkly dressed girl.
"Hmm, Leila, stop staring at the sparkly girl, it's rude."

OOC: =P

Leila shrieked and ran away from Kaze. "Don't get so close to me!"


OOC: She's sort of a female version of Guy, I guess. Complete with backstory explaining her fear of the opposite gender.

OOC: Oh geez. xD I'm not sure who Kaze would be most similar to; maybe a cross between Jade, Luke, and Tear. =P (Who also happen to be my most used characters n it. =P)

"... I'm not even near you." Kaze said, as he stopped moving, and simply blinked at Leila, a bead of sweat running down the back of his head.

*panting* "Sorry. I'm just really not good with males."

(Misu): "She's still staring at us..."

(Kira): "To be precise, she seems to be staring at Kaze."

"At me?" Kaze asked confused, as he looked back, not sure what she would be staring at him for.

Indeed, she seemed to be staring at him - or rather at a point above his head. When she noticed him looking at her, she quickly looked away.

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze frowned, as he noticed she wasn't staring at him directly, and looked up, but didn't see anything.
"That's odd." Kaze muttered, not sure what it was all about.

(Misu): "If you're curious, go ask."

(Kira): "No, bad idea. Let's just ignore her and check out the crime scene."

"I agree with Kira; last thing I want is to get involved with oddities like her." Kaze said, as he rolled his eyes.

(Misu): "The murder happened in the ballroom, let's check it out."

Emma quickly ran down the hall, seeking the nearest payphone. What she had seen didn't make any sense, at least not to her.

"Right." Kaze said with a nod, as he began to head toward the ballroom.

OOC: I think I can guess who Emma was based off. Maybe.

Emma checked to make sure nobody was within eye-or-earshot, then quickly dialed a number into the phone. It picked up on the first ring. "Yes, this is Emma. Yes. Yes. No, no time. I need to tell you something. Yes, I'm sure it's a nice plushie, but this is important. No. I - I can't see it through the phone. Please, I need to tell you this before someone arrives. So, while the police were interviewing me..."

Shell ignored her and kept searching the floor for other scraps of paper.

Kaze sighed with a slight scowl, as he continued to sort through the fragments of paper they kept finding.
"It's all greek to me..." Kaze said, as he shook his head, not sure how to organize the paper fragments to make something that actually made SENSE.

OOC: And I really want to try Notepad++ sometime soon; should help me in the future. =P I might try on my laptop later, if I stay up later tonight.

(Emma): "Yes, I'm sure. They were both going up. How should I know? That's why I called you! No, I've never seen them before in my life. Yes, pretty cute, but I don't see what that has to do with-no, please don't, I hate talking to that creepy-Oh, hi! Heh. So...He told you my question, right? ...No, I wasn't standing on my head, they were both going up!"

"I said it's a red herring. Or more likely, something placed there to taunt the investigators."


(Drow): "Indeed. We already found that, and even checked it for prints. Nothing."

Leila jumped into the air and ducked behind Misu. "Don't sneak up on me!"

"So you then decided to toss it all over the ground anyway?" Kaze asked, raising an eyebrow in skepticism.

"No. I told my staff to keep it. I will have to have a talk with them. Ah, sorry, I must be off. I need to interview the next witness."
Drow tossed a quarter into the air, caught it, and moonwalked off to speak to a man in a black hat and tailcoat.

(Kira): "...What an idiot."

(Shell): "He's probably not out of earshot, Kira."

(Misu): "So, should we keep - LEILA, LET GO. YOUR HANDS ARE LIKE ICE - looking for other clues?"

(Nami): "Nami wants sushi!"

(Shell): "You can't eat just sushi!"

(Nami): "I can try!"

"Yes...yes...yes...OK. Uh huh. Sure. I'll do that." Emma hung up the phone, and shuddered. She hated talking to that giggling nut.

Emma reentered the ballroom, and looked around. The boy she had noticed was still there, along with a group of girls. Here goes nothing...I cannot believe he wants me to flirt with that...male.


OOC: Emma and Leila are sort of mirrors of each other. This will be important later on, so remember it.

Kaze sighed, as he looked around the room, but still didn't see anything.
"Nothing; I see nothing. Does anyone else think that we're wasting our time now?" Kaze asked, with a sigh, as he shook his head. He didn't like to give up, but they had been looking for what seemed like hours; and the only thing they had found was a red herring.

Emma walked up to Kaze. "Um...excuse me?"

OOC: Maybe, but if I have, it's been so long ago. =( I'd try to watch it, since I believe my family has the movie, but, well, it'd be on VHS, if we had it. =P

"Kinda. Ish. Not officially, but I'm working to become a detective." Kaze said with a shrug, still not understanding what she wanted.

OOC: Check the scene where Jessica Rabbit first appears on Youtube. Unless you see that, you won't understand when I say Emma's dress is sparkly. (Trivia: Jessica's dress was supposed to sparkle throughout the whole movie, but they didn't have the budget)

That caught Kaze's attention, as he frowned slightly.
"You were? What did you see?" Kaze asked, not sure if the other investigators had realized this or not.

"Yes, I was the one playing the music for the ball. Not to brag, but I am the world's greatest violinist. I didn't see too much, sadly, since she didn't stand out any more than any of the other dancers, but right before the dance ended it looked like she was trying to hide something in her hand. I noticed because whatever it was, was sparkly, and I love sparkly stuff."
Emma caught herself staring (this time at Misu instead of Kaze), and quickly looked away.

"She?" Kaze asked, curious about that, but noticed she was staring, specifically over in the direction of Misu, and looked at the odd girl curiously, not sure what was going on, but didn't really care, as if the girl had information about the crime...

"Yes. the woman who got stabbed."

Control yourself, Emma...People don't take kindly to being kissed by complete strangers...

Emma was now doing her best to avoid looking at either Kaze or Misu.

Damien glanced over his shoulder at Emma. I should wrap up with Drow and go speak to Emma before that little idiot does something she'll regret.

Kaze frowned at that, as that was odd.
"So the victim had something in her hand?" Kaze asked just to make sure he had everything right.
"But why would..." Kaze contemplated that, and wondered if the police had found out about this yet or not.

"Yes, it looked like a diamond or something."

"A diamond? Well, I guess anything's possible with events like this, but..." Kaze said, not sure why the victim would just carry a loose diamond around randomly.

"Yes, it looked like she was trying to hide it."

"Which leads to the question of why she was trying to hide it..." Kaze said, starting to get lost in thought about the reasonings behind that.
"Is that all?" Kaze asked, to make sure that was all the information that she had.

"Um..well...that's not the only reason I wanted to talk to you."

"Yeah? You have more information?" Kaze asked, totally not understanding what she meant.

OOC: Trying to keep a straight face as this Kaze would in this situation, but I keep chuckling. =P

IC: "Well..it's just...do you believe in love at first sight?"

Given the angle she was pointing her head, it was unclear who she was talking to- it could have been any of them.

Kaze blinked.
"Well, maybe. I dunno; haven't really given it much thought before." Kaze stated with a dismissive-style shrug, as he had really been way too concerned about stuff regarding his future career and getting justice for people to really think about anything related to love before.

OOC: This is probably the oddest version of Kaze I've played, just because of his dismissive attitude toward most things, and his very odd sense of justice. =P Unfortunately, we've had no chance to showcase that. =P

(Kira): *whispering to Kaze* "She's flirting with you, you idiot! Well, you or Misu."

Kaze blinked at Kira, confused.
"She is? Why would she flirt with me though? We only just met..." Kaze asked back quietly, so as Emma wouldn't hear.

OOC: I like to think I wouldn't react as horribly as Kaze if something like this happened. =P Would probably still be horribly awkward, but not this bad. xD

"Dunno. Maybe she just thinks you're cute." Kira whispered back.



OOC: Trying to fight the urge to cutaway to Tinker for some random monologue. :P

Kaze frowned slightly, but nodded awkwardly, not entirely certain what to say to that.

(Emma): "So...what's your name?"

"Kaze Hikari." Kaze stated, not entirely seeing how this was pertinent to the conversation, but he had an odd feeling it had changed subjects a few minutes earlier.

"Cool name. I'm Emma Evangel."

"Cool; that's certainly a different name, though, again, a cool one." Kaze said, making a slight bit of small talk, as he still futilely tried to understand how they had gone from talking about a murder, to chatting as if they had known each other for weeks.

"So...do you have any plans for tonight?"

(Kira): *Whispering to Shell* "It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion."

"Uh, not really; probably just investigating this case some more; why...?" Kaze asked, though he guessed this was going to be a lead-up to being asked out or something.

"Sure, I guess." Kaze said, having guessed that was the next question; however, he wanted to ask her some follow up questions after he investigated some more, so that would work well.

"... Well that was certainly different." Kaze said, not entirely certain exactly what happened overall, there.

"No; I definitely know she asked me on the date." Kaze stated, as he was certain on the occurrence of the events, just not how that all happened.
"Though, I guess it would be nice, considering it'll be my first date and all..." Kaze said, scratching his head awkwardly.

(Kira): "In that case, I need to prepare you!" *evil grin*

"P-prepare me?" Kaze asked, a startled look on his face from her tone, as he took a step back in shock, not sure what she meant.

"Get you dressed up, teach you to dance, go over the rules of etiquette...I'm gonna make you miserable!"

Kaze was just confused at the 'miserable' statement, but nodded, still confused about what she meant for the most part.

(Shell): "Does this mean we're going back to the apartment?"

"I'm... guessing so?" Kaze said, offering an answer he wasn't entirely sure of, since he wasn't certain what Kira had in mind.

Kira proudly gestured to Kaze, who she had forced to wear an absolutely hideous suit. "How's he look?"

(Misu): "Like a giant chicken."

"... I may not have been on a date before, nor do I even have a remote interest in clothes, but even I know when a suit is just plain bad." Kaze said with a sigh, as he shook his head.
"How did you even talk me into this, anyway...?" He then muttered nearly inaudibly, obviously not really impressed.

(Leila): "A better question is, why have you been letting her do this for two hours?"

(Kira): "Fine, wear whatever. But I still get to teach you all the pointless rules about silverwear."

OOC: I've been to cotillion. There are a LOT of weird and pointless rules. :P

"Buying time? Hoping it'll be something useful?" Kaze suggested, as he shrugged.

"Thanks." Kaze said simply, still kinda awkward at that, and still unsure about what he was wearing, since it was one of the better outfits that Kira had picked out; not that that was saying much, since it was more or less her mission at that time to make him not really look good.

"Well, uh, I guess there isn't really too much to tell... alienated from most people as a kid because of my eccentric habits of getting justice for others; my desire to become a detective; being distant to others because of the alienation thing... Really, thinking about it, things have been rather boring other than that." Kaze said, as he thought about that for a bit.

"What do you even mean by 'justice', anyway?"

OOC: It's rude not to ask her about herself. :P

"Like, helping people out, and helping right any wrongs that they had suffered. But, well, it doesn't matter... What about you? Tell me a bit about yourself." Kaze said, keeping in mind the advice Kira had given him.

"Hm...well, I love sparkly things, I play the violin (and, if I may brag, I'm amazing at it), I like to sing...and I'm a mass murderer."


OOC: If someone said that IRL, we'd laugh. But in RPGs, we always tend to assume they're being serious.

Kaze blinked, and raised an eyebrow, but then awkwardly chuckled.
"Nice joke." Kaze said, as he figured that she was joking about the last thing.
"All that, except the last part, sounds like it's pretty cool. I wish I could sing and play an instrument well." Kaze said with a sigh.

"Well, a lot of it is natural talent, but I can give you some basic lessons. I also play piano."

"So...tell me more about yourself. Who were those girls you were with? Sisters?"

"Roommates, I guess you could say." Kaze said simply with a shrug.

"Ah. How long have you lived in this city?"

"A while; grew up here for the most part." Kaze explained with a nod.

"Oh, cool. Do you have a job?"

"Just freelance work, attempting to get more qualifications to become an actual detective." Kaze said again, also shrugging.
"Really, my life is just as boring as I said. What about you?" Kaze asked, trying to turn around the conversation once more.

"Well, I play violin at a lot of places - dance halls, restaurants, and so on - and then I roam the night stabbing people in the head with the bow of my violin." She laughed and ordered her food.

Kaze nodded slowly; finding her odd, but also finding it kinda suspicious that she kept bringing up killing people.
"What are your hobbies other than that?" Kaze asked, curious to that, as it wouldn't hurt to ask; if the tables were turned he could answer honestly anyway.

"Well, I don't really do much besides play violin, to be perfectly honest. Performing and practicing takes up easily eight hours a day."

"It's a nice life, though, and I never need to worry about money."

The waiter finally arrived with their food.

Emma blinked at her food. "This is NOT what I ordered..."

"Hmm?" Kaze said with a frown, as he looked at what he was served, and looked over at what Emma was served, to see what the problem was.

"I ordered steak. This is a bowl of soup."

"That's odd." Kaze said with a frown.

"Joke's on him, though. The soup is better than the steak! Plus his timer is low..."

"Well, I guess that's always a good thing, if it's better." Kaze said with a slight shrug, though he could've sworn he caught a mutter about a timer. He kept quiet, just thinking about things, but paused as he was about to take a bite of his own meal.
"Say, is it just me, or were you looking above my head, when I first noticed you?" Kaze asked with a perplexed expression, as he was indeed curious about that.

OOC: He's thinking it could be something far off in the distance, but it was still odd. =P

"Huh? Er...yes, I kinda was. You...um...I was looking at your hair. I like it."

"Well, murder is an interest of mine."

"No, my music takes up too much of my time."

Emma chuckled. "My brother and I hate each other. Always fighting...But now that we're adults, we fight with insults instead."

Kaze chuckled slightly at that.
"Well; fighting between siblings doesn't necessarily mean you two hate each other; just that you don't agree most of the time. But, well, obviously I don't know the entire situation, so I may be totally wrong." Kaze said with a casual shrug.

"He thinks I'm an idiot, I think of him the same way I'd think of a wart."

"I see..." Kaze said with a nod, having been wrong on that guess.

"Sorry, could you excuse me for a minute?"

Kaze nodded, as he leaned back with a slight yawn.

Emma picked up a knife from the table, walked over to the waiter, and stabbed him in the head.
She then returned to the table, licking the knife as she sat back down.

Kaze kept a relatively normal look on his face, as he nodded.
"Ah, so you weren't joking earlier."

"Nope. I actually prefer to kill people with my violin bow, but I left that at home."

"well, if people are supposed to die at a specific time and they don't, that would obviously be bad. So we kill them!"

In a flash, Emma stood, kicked Kaze hard on the top of his head, and jumped out the window.

Kaze muttered, as he fell to the ground, rubbing his head.
"That really hurt..." Kaze said with a sigh, as he stood up.
"That help at all, guys?" Kaze asked over the still-open mic, as he stayed because of the whole police arriving soon thing, since that would make sure that he stayed safe for certain.

"So sorry, the police didn't get your call. Please try again. Ehehehehe!"

The voice that answered was a man's, high-pitched, with a cockney accent.

OOC: Worst part? It honestly doesn't matter if the police get the recording or now - the Jabberwocky will make sure they can't do anything about it.

"Touche." Kaze stated, as he thought about what could be done, even as he put out the fire with some nearby water.
"But, you can't kill everyone here." Kaze said, as he had made sure that others heard it. He also reached into his pocket, and held out the phone that had called 911; and was also, coincidentally, still running.
"And many people called 911 at about the same time."

OOC: There is actually something that could be done. =P

OOC: You didn't get what I was implying? The Jabberwocky is a cop. :P

OOC: I think I know who it is. =P But anyway; I can still get around that. =P

"Well played. However, that's not all." Kaze said, as he struck a dramatic pose by spreading his arms out, motioning to the camera in the restaurant, which was actually streaming straight to Youtube, as a failsafe for the other failsafes.

OOC: I'm actually intrigued to see how far this can be taken. =P And also when the others will arrive. =P

(Waiter): "Sir, that camera is fake."

"... Why would you have a fake camera!?" Kaze asked in disbelief after a couple moments.
"No matter." Kaze said, as he walked over to a hidden panel he had set up earlier on, and removed a video recorder from it.

OOC: I swear I'm playing the Xanatos' Gambit character right now, which can't get a single gambit right. =P 'Course, there are witnesses...

"To discourage robbers."


(OOC: It's fairly common. My dad has a mix of real and fake security cameras at his animal hospital.)

The video recorder had had it's memory card fried.

"Well this isn't going well..." Kaze muttered with a sigh.
"Did you happen to hear what psycho chick was saying?" Kaze asked the waiter; having a backup witness would be nice.

OOC: I'm assuming we had maybe an hour between the stuff at the apartment and heading to the restaurant. *Shrugs* Since I'm assuming Kaze picked the restaurant. I was gonna have the entire place be cops in disguise, like you sometimes see in TV shows, but I thought that was a little overboard. =P

"I'd rather not die, so no."

"Right." Kaze said, as he looked around, and realized that he was probably the only one to have stuck around.
"Well there goes that idea." Kaze said with a sigh, as he checked under the table to see if his MP3 player had been fried or not.

OOC: It would've been fun, yes, but you had Emma run off before I could ask you about that idea, which didn't help. =P

"... Well that didn't work either." Kaze said with a sigh, though obviously glad that it wasn't totally fried. And that he hadn't thought to try with his laptop as well. Kaze sighed, as he tried to think of another way the conversation might have been able to be taped, aside from inside his mind, where it was obviously stored.

A lightbulb fell from the ceiling and landed on Kaze's head.

OOC: That...actually happened to me once. Not pleasant, since they tend to explode when they land.

"Ow." Kaze stated, as he rubbed his head; luckily the bulb did not explode, or that would not have been good for him. Kaze looked around, however, puzzled.
"... Now where did those guys get to, anyway? I thought I heard police sirens earlier..."

(Drow): *Moonwalks in* "Well well, if it isn't the kid from earlier."

"Well, well, if it isn't the odd guy from before." Kaze said in return, a frown on his face, as he looked around.
"Aren't there usually others when someone investigates a scene?" Kaze asked curiously, as he didn't see any of the other police officers at that moment.

"They're questioning witnesses outside. Someone said Ms. Evangel jumped out the window."

"She did." Kaze said with a nod.
"After stabbing that guy." Kaze said, motioning to the dead guy on the floor.

"Hm. Well, I don't feel like arresting you, so..." *waves towards the door*
"go away. Shoo."

Kaze blinked, but shrugged, finding that kinda odd, since he had just said that Emma had just killed the guy on the floor.
"You do realize I said that Emma killed that guy, correct? Just wanna make sure there wasn't a communication mistake there on my part." Kaze asked, just to double check.

"I heard. Shoo."

Kaze shrugged, and headed outside, however, he looked around, and noticed the officers were still busy, and frowned, as he looked to see if any of the others were waiting for him or not.

Nobody else was waiting for him.

"Joy." Kaze muttered, as he sighed, and began to walk back to the apartment.

(Kira): "Hey, you're not dead. Cool."

"You could show more concern, you know." Kaze said, as he walked into the apartment, with a sigh.
"That girl was crazy. Like, psycho crazy. Like, 'she's a killer' crazy." Kaze said, as he sighed again, and shook his head.
"I tried to get proof for the police, but every single thing I tried, epically failed." Kaze said, holding up the ruined tape recorder and video recorder.

"Yes, we saw the whole thing on the news. Someone was filming it on their cell phone."

"... Of course they were..." Kaze said, a slightly annoyed expression on his face, as he walked over to his laptop to look at the video, to see if it caught the actual murder.

IC: (Misu): "Third tab, video's already loaded. Friendly warning, don't open any of the other tabs. they're Leila's, so you'd have to bleach your eyeballs."

(Shell): "No. Last time she went for a walk, she ended up on a train heading to Nebraska, remember."

"So it's just my horrible luck." Kaze muttered, as he sighed, and paused.
"Wait, hang on, isn't there something we're missing? I'm certain there's something important we're forgetting..." Kaze said with a slight frown.

OOC: Taht's about when we cut to a picture of James calling out for help in getting out of jail briefly, right? =P

"Now that you mention it...hm...Eh, it'll come to me."

Kaze thought for a moment, and then shrugged.
"Ah well, couldn't have been important. But, what else should we do, then? Since that ended as horribly as I expected, and while we know of the identity of one of the killers, it just brought up more questions..."

"Wait, you expected this? Do all your dates go like this?" Kira blinked in surprise.

(Shell): "OK, I'm going to call Nami."

"No; I just had a suspicious feeling about her. Seemed all too convenient, and she seemed to be a little too up-front in trying to get me to go out with her." Kaze said with a shrug.
"Again, this was my first date, so technically now you could say they do, but, well, I hope they don't." Kaze said with a frown.

Kira blinked at him again. "I have IQ of 160, and even I barely understood that last part."

Shell walked back into the room. "OK, Nami's on her way back. She got stuck on an escalator that wouldn't move."

"I really need to phrase things better..." Kaze muttered, and raised an eyebrow at Shell's comment.
"I... I see." Kaze said, finding that really odd.

"Nami's not stupid, she's just...odd." Shell explained. "You'll see if you get to know her."

*Doorbell rings*

"Didn't say she was; it just seemed odd." Kaze said with a shrug, as he looked over to the door, not sure who that could be.

Shell opened the door, and Nami cartwheeled in.

"Yo." Kaze said with a nod to Nami to acknowledge her return.

"Nami remembers you."

"Where were you?" Shell asked.

"Well, first Nami was at that new sushi place, but they kicked Nami out after I ate all their sushi. Then Nami followed a flying yellow cat around for a bit until Nami almost fell into an open manhole. And on Nami's way back, Nami found a weird doll shop. The owner gave Nami a doll, it looks just like me!"


(Flying yellow cat behind Kaze): "Flying yellow cat...absurd!"

Kaze frowned, as he turned around and looked at the odd thing, but shook his head, and looked back to Nami.
"Weird doll shop?" Kaze asked, remembering the voice from earlier, suddenly realizing where he had heard it before.

OOC: How dare you call the Supreme Rule of All Space-Time (yes, that's his canon name) an "odd thing"?!

IC: "Yeah...Nami just kinda wandered in, and the owner gave me the doll." *Shows it to Kaze*

OOC: Well then introduce it better. =P

Kaze frowned, as he looked at the doll, and thought for a moment.
"Could you show me where the shop is tomorrow?" Kaze asked, having a bad feeling.

"Sure."

OOC: Haven't had a chance to get back to watching the series, but I'll watch episode 4 when I get a chance; I haven't forgotten. =P

(News reporter): "A citywide alert has been announced. Emma Evangel, suspect in the recent mass murders, has killed several police officers and vanished."

"Oh that's just great." Kaze said with a sigh, as he shook his head.
"She needs to be caught; yet I have no clue how to do so, if the officers keep this up..."

(Misu): "Seriously, Nami...that doll is creepy."

"Not myself; even I realize that'd be the equivalent of suicide. But we need to think up a plan for solving this." Kaze said, and paused.
"Didn't you say your brother helped get you on the case? Maybe he could help us by getting us more access to the case. And to get that odd detective to not have a grudge against us."

OOC: No, I don't have any planned. *whistle*
 A Nyrauko themed RPG might be fun, but that's not happening either.

IC: Kira sighed. "My brother is an IDIOT."

Nami poked Kaze. "Didn't Kaze want Nami to show you the doll shop?"

OOC: Uh-huh. Right. =P

Kaze was going to reply to that, but paused.
"Wait; where is your brother, anyway?" Kaze asked, having a funny feeling that he just remembered what he had forgotten the night before, even as he nodded at Nami.

OOC: Seriously, I don't have plans for any new RPGs. Not to say current RPGs don't draw on...*has a heart attack*

IC: "Um...prison? Have you suffered a recent blow to the head?"

"No, but that just confirmed my suspicion; that's what we were forgetting last night." Kaze said with a sigh.
"Shouldn't we go get him out? Something seems off about that situation."

Kira sighed again. "Actually, being arrested for slapping a hobo sounds just like him."

"Even still, I don't know if that was the real reason he was arrested. Something just doesn't feel right; that detective we ran into yesterday? He was there we the incident happened, when the police arrived. But he told me to get out of there before he arrested me... Which is odd, considering all the reasons that it would be obvious that Emma was the one involved in all this." Kaze explained, a frown on his face.

"That is odd..."

OOC: Good, you're pushing it off the rails. You need to do that more. :P

OOC: Off the rails? You mean I wasn't supposed to have him notice that, or the fact that we're totally ignoring the Doll Shop plot? =P

"Yeah..." Kaze said with a nod.
"I think we should go talk with your brother, find out what really happened. Maybe stop by that weird shop place on our way back."

IC: "OK, let's go."

OOC: Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring save the Doormouse. The stocking were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that the Tinker soon would be there....

Kaze frowned, as he followed Kira into the station.

OOC: The children were hidden under their beds, in hopes that the Tinker would not take their heads.

IC: (Drow): "Ah, here for your brother?"

"Yes, we're here for her brother." Kaze said with a nod.

OOC: When outside the house arose such a clatter, the sound of cruel mad laughter.

IC: "Sorry, he's not due to be released for another week. Judge's orders."


OOC: Still no sandwich? I want to tell you something that makes that gag even funnier.

"... That makes no sense." Kaze bluntly said, as he frowned.
"What's the reasoning behind such a severe sentence? Hmm?" Kaze challenged, as he raised an eyebrow.

OOC: Nope; haven't had time to watch it. ^^'

OOC: I ran to the window and dared take a peek, but what I saw caused me to shriek.

IC: "It's technically assault and battery."

"Oh?" Kaze asked skeptically, not sure what would cause that kind of charge.

OOC: A legion of dolls, hundreds in all, crept spiderlike up my wall.

IC: "He attacked a hobo."

OOC: Now I forget what Assault and battery means. >_>

Kaze saw no way to refute that at the moment, so he thought of an alternative.
"Well, if he can't be released, can we at least talk to him?" Kaze asked, as something still seemed off about the situation.

OOC: Like demons from **** they crawled through the rooms, and all who saw them faced certain doom.

IC: "Certainly. Come with me."

Kaze nodded, but followed cautiously, still having an odd feeling about the guy, as he motioned for Kira to follow as well.

OOC: They stalked through the night, and the homes were alight. The children were crying, as now they lay dying.

IC: (James): "Sis! 'Bout time!"

(Kira): "Baka."

Kaze sighed.
"So, what exactly happened?" Kaze asked, confused still.

"I don't really remember..."

"... What's the last thing you do remember, then?"

"I was walking home."

"I see... Can you remember if anything odd happened around then?"

"Look, I was kinda drunk. I don't remember."

"... and they looked him up this long for this?" Kaze muttered with a frown, as he shook hi head.

(Kira): "Kaze, I don't know where you're from, but here, attacking a hobo IS a crime."

"I don't disagree; but a week, perhaps even two, since we don't know how long he was here; for what was said to be a simple slap, while drunk? Does that make any sense to you?" Kaze asked, pacing the room, as if he were missing something.

OOC: I tried to fight it, but Kaze's now getting hints of the Doctor's personality slipped into his persona. =P

(Kira): "He's been in prison a day and a half."

"Okay, point taken, but still, a week?"

"It's not that excessive."

"Have you ever heard of anyone else getting thrown in jail for a week for slapping someone?" Kaze asked, raising a skeptical eyebrow.

OOC: Seriously, leave this topic alone. Drow was 100% justified in what he did. :P

OOC: Sure he was... =P So if you slapped me, you'd be thrown in jail for a week? *Skeptical look*

"Well, looks like you're gonna have to stay here. Sorry 'bout that."

Kira rolled her eyes and turned to leave.

Kaze quickly followed her, understanding why she hated her brother.

(Nami): "Can we get sushi before going to the creepy doll place?"

(Misu): "If I so much as LOOK at sushi again I'm going to vomit."

"I think we should visit there first. It seems odd enough for me to visit it first."

"But not so odd that you couldn't visit my worthless brother afterwards?" Kira retorted.

"I wanted to make sure of something first. Turns out I was wrong there, so yeah, I accept that I failed there." Kaze said with a shrug.

(Shell): "OK Nami, lead the way. Leila, let go of Misu."

OOC: This is scary...In the second to last issue of Nintendo Power, they mentioned a game being made by someone known only as "Shiza".

OOC: ... Wow. xD

Kaze nodded, and followed.

Nami lead them down a dark alley, to an old, unlit wooden building with an old sign reading Tinker's.
In the dark, cobweb-covered windows, dozens of frighteningly realistic dolls stared at the group.

Kaze narrowed his eyes suspiciously at the sign.
"So I was right..." Kaze muttered, piecing together what he had recalled from that one night, to the odd messages the night before, to now.

"About what?" Kira asked.

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Odd things. Like someone named 'Tinker' interfering yesterday, and someone who shared the voice of someone who called me yesterday, telling me to visit a doll shop a couple days ago."

OOC: No OOC knowledge! You never heard Tinker's name IC. :P

OOC: Yes he did. (http://www.mlno.org/index.php/topic,15017.0/msg,327135.html) He hadn't pieced together the hint until he saw the sign saying Tinker's Shop, though. =P

OOC: Hm...Not sure I'm willing to allow a l33tspeak joke to alter the plot...but then again, it's not like Kaze won't recognise his voice. :P

IC: (Kira): "So...do we go inside?"

OOC: He already did. =P Since you had him talk to Kaze twice, once taunting him, and once telling him to visit his shop. =P So already, he technically knew, this just proved that the same guy did both of the sabotage stuff. =P

"Yeah." Kaze said with a nod.

The inside of the building was dark and dusty, lit only by a few dim candles. On every shelf and table were dozens of highly realistic dolls.

"This place is very odd..." Kaze muttered with a frown.

OOC: You haven't been on lately - Christmas presents? (also, did you finish watching yet? :P)

IC: "I'll take that as a complement."
The Tinker slowly emerged from the darkness. All that could be seen of him was a few wisps of white hair and a strangely white grin. 

OOC: *Looks at 'sidegraded'(Basically, an alternative to my old one. =P) laptop, updated desktop, and a couple other thing* Yeah, you could say that. =P Also, you'll probably need to send me the link for episode 4 again; my bookmarks didn't make the transfer, though they'll be on most of my desktop. =P

Kaze frowned, as he turned to look over at the man in shadows.
"Who are you?" Kaze asked, just to confirm his suspicions.

Kaze frowned, as he definitely recognized the voice.

"Doll shop?" Kaze asked, to see if Tinker would elabourate, as something just seemed odd about it.

"Indeed. Come, let me introduce you to my dolls. Ehehehe."

Kaze frowned, not seeing any real harm at that moment, as he looked around the shop for anything to use in defense, if he needed it.

The only objects in the store were the hundreds of dolls, and a few flickering candles.
Tinker picked up one of the candles and led the way into another darkened room. The dolls in this room were all life-sized.

Kaze frowned at the dolls, finding them very odd.
"How...?" Kaze asked mostly to himself, not sure if he wanted to finish the question, let alone know the answer.

"How? I'm afraid the meaning of that question is lost on my humble self."

"How is this even possible?" Kaze restated with a frown.

"What do you mean, young man?"

-==IC: Kaze==-

"How can these dolls be so detailed?" Kaze asked, a frown on his face.

"Lots of time and effort, my dear boy. These dolls are my life's work."

"I see." Kaze said, nodding, though he was still slightly suspicious.

"Now, then, why don't you come into the back room. I have some special dolls there, though they're not all finished yet."

Kaze was definitely suspicious at that, and stopped for the moment.
"What kind of dolls?" Kaze asked, not having a good feeling about this guy at all.

"Please, come and see, come and see. Eheheehehehe."

"I'm not sure about this..." Kaze muttered to the others with a frown on his face.

(Misu): "He's one man. We can take him if something happens."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"True... Let's just be careful, though, okay?" Kaze said, as he proceeded cautiously.

Tinker was waiting by a shelf with a blanket draped over it.

Kaze frowned, as he wasn't sure what was going on there.

Tinker reached under the blanket, and pulled out a doll. It was an exact, 1-foot tall replica of Misu.

"Again; how is that even possible...?" Kaze asked, as that was uncanny; and he was definitely on his guard now.

"Well  now, it just took a  bit of effort." He tossed it to Misu.
"The others aren't quite finished yet, so I do wish you'd chosen to come tomorrow instead. Ehehehehehee."

"We've never been in the store before, though." Kaze pointed out with a frown.

"Oh, and why does that matter, Mr. Hikari?"

-==IC: Kaze==-

"I simply question how you were able to get such perfect likenesses so quickly."

"Ehehehe. Quickly had nothing to do with it, dear Kaze."

"So, you've been following us, then?" Kaze asked, eyes still narrowed in suspicion.

"Oh no, never set eyes on you before this aside from our little talk in the alley."

"So then how were you able to do this?" Kaze asked, finding that totally odd.

"ehehehehehe. That's a trade secret, I'm afraid."

OOC: He doesn't notice that Tinker knows his name? :P

"Then the bigger question is how you know both my first and last name."

"Oh? I'm almost positive we were introduced. Don't be shy, Ms. Rami - my dolls are free."

"No, we weren't." Kaze said, shaking his head.

"well then, we'll simply have to disagree."

"No, because facts state that we, at any point in time, have never introduced ourselves." Kaze stated, eyes still narrowed.

"Well then, tell me how I would recognise you."

"I don't know; how about you tell me?" Kaze challenged, since he did recognize the voice for sure.
"Actually; let me guess; you've been observing us, or even getting reports on us." Kaze said, finally beginning to challenge him subtly on his connections with other things.

"Oh no. I almost  never leave, and visitors are sadly rare. And I don't have a phone or any other electronic device. I don't even use electric lights!"

"Oh really now?" Kaze challenged, eyes narrowed even further, if that was even possible.

"Oh yes. I assure you...I never lie."

"So how do you explain your voice cutting off my conversation to the police the other day?" Kaze challenged, a frown on his face.

"I have no idea what you're talking about, dear boy."

"Sure you don't. Feel free to try and keep up the act; but I can recognize your voice, and your laugh, and it matches the person who intercepted my phone call to the police the other day." Kaze stated with narrowed eyes.

"Well, suit yourself, dear boy. No skin off my back. Ehehehehehe."

"That still doesn't answer the question of how you know who we are. Especially half these girls; I swear some of them don't leave the house unless we go as a group, which hasn't happened that often."

"Ehehehe. You overestimate me, dear boy. I'm merely a humble Tinker."

"You still haven't answered my question. You knew who we were; we never said who we were. So, obviously there's something odd here." Kaze said, though the most obvious explanation never even occurred to him.

OOC: Shinigami eyes.

OOC: Trivia: The timers only show time remaining. Not the person's name. (This is why Emma had to ask Kaze)

IC: "Perhaps someone told me about you. My memory isn't what it used to be, I'm afraid. Ehehehehe."

OOC: Ah, I see. =P

"Sure they did..." Kaze said, eyes still narrowed.
"You wanna know my theory?" Kaze asked, not believing for a moment that he was 'innocent'.

OOC: I'm breaking the story again, aren't I? =P

OOC: If you go too off the rails, I'll just have a gorilla punch you.

IC: "Oh? By all means, enlighten me."


(Misu): "Um...this doll even has the same red streak in its eyes as me."

OOC: I have a tiny red spot in my left eye. I think it's from when the chicken pecked me.

"I think you're a part of the same group that what's-her-name is. Given that, you know, you cut off my conversation that was being sent to the police as her confession and all."

OOC: Well you did make that rather clear. =P

"Ehehehe. Well, the Queen of Hearts and the Cheshire Cat are two of my best customers. The Queen loves it when I give the dolls glittery clothing. Ehehehehehehe."

"Aha!" Kaze said, as he took an 'objection' pose.
"There; you admit your involvement with them. I'm sure they have plenty of opportunity to further explain about other things as well." Kaze stated with a frown.

OOC: Anything odd about these dolls? =P

"I admit they're customers, dear boy. It's no different than me having 'involvement' with you."

"You see; I still don't believe that. Otherwise, you wouldn't have intercepted a phone call." Kaze stated with a frown.

"You insist I did that? Dear boy, by all means, search my shop. I  assure you, there is not a single electronic device to be found."

"Because you obviously need to have the devices right here in order to use them." Kaze stated, and shook his head.

"My dear boy, believe what you will."

"Whatever; that isn't even the main thing right now. How did you get pretty much every single detail correct, while barely even looking at us?" Kaze asked with narrowed eyes.

"I'm merely a humble Tinker, Mr. Hikari. Please do not take me so seriously..."

"I wouldn't; if it weren't for the fact that this was so odd." Kaze said with a frown.

"It doesn't seem at all odd to me. Ehehehehe."

"You got right down to pinpoint details of people in the maybe one minute we were here." Kaze pointed out, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm an excellent judge of character. Ehehehe....Well, I'm afraid I must be closing up shop for tonight. But please, do come back tomorrow, I so enjoy getting visitors. EHEHEHEHEE!!"

Kaze narrowed his eyes, as he walked out of the stores with the other girls.
"Something just doesn't seem right about that place. Especially that guy."

"Ya think?" Misu rolled her eyes.

"Can I hold the doll?" Leila asked.

Misu glared at her. "I know exactly what you'd do with it, so no."

Leila approached Kaze. "Listen...can we talk?"

"Sure; what about?" Kaze asked, looking over toward her in slight confusion, as she approached, not sure why she was wanting to talk to him, precisely.

Leila checked to make sure they were alone, then began. "Listen..you know how Misu is kinda...well, the physical embodiment of perfection?"

OOC:
I can think of four ways for Kaze to respond:
1: "She's OK, I guess.
2: "She's not my type."
3: Something from his deadpan snarker side.
4: a complete non-sequitur.

"She is? Well; I guess she is okay." Kaze said, confused as to what she might have meant at first, but then took a wild guess.

OOC: I was kinda hoping you'd go for option 4, yell "ZOMBIE EGGPLANT", and run off. :P

IC: Leila nodded. "Yes. And though I personally find the mere sight of a male to be horrifying, the fact is that you are attractive. By most standards. So...just a friendly warning...STAY AWAY FROM MY MISU."

OOC: Unfortunately, I'm not Shiza. =P

"You can have her." Kaze shrugged.
"I don't get in the middle of existing relationships; I'm just not that kinda guy." Kaze said with another shrug.

OOC: Shame. :P

IC:  Leila sighed. "Well...to be honest...it's not exactly a relationship. It's more of...I make a move, then Misu punches me."

"Have you tried, you know, talking to her?" Kaze asked, curious about that.

"Yes, but I tend to be kinda...forward. So talking to her usually ends with me being slapped."


OOC: After Kaze goes to bed, we'll be doing the dream sequence, OK?

"Why not just take things easier, then?Just chat as you would with anyone." Kaze suggested with a shrug.

OOC: Alright then. =P

"...That IS how I chat with others. Other girls, anyway...I try to avoid contact with boys."

"Just out of curiosity... Why do you avoid contact with guys, anyway?" Kaze asked, as he was rather confused about that.

"I...it's...it's a long story."

She sighed. "It's just...it's...really personal. I haven't even told the other girls why, and I've known them for years."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"It's okay; I was simply curious, since, well, it's not something I've really heard of that much." Kaze said with a slight shrug.

"yeah, it's not a very common problem, is it?" she laughed. "Well Kaze...I guess I could learn to tolerate being around you."

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze nodded.
"Alright then; just don't try to rush yourself." Kaze said, as he had heard of people who tried to force themselves to do things; which never worked out well.

"Right. Well...I should be getting to bed. If you hear Misu screaming 'get out', pay it no mind."

OOC: OK, ready for dream sequence. :P

OOC: just have Kaze go to bed.


IC: (Kira): *walks in* "Hey...uh....Kaze your air mattress kinda exploded."

*From the other room*

(Misu): "Get...OUT!"

*loud thud*

(Leila): "Ow."

"... I'm not gonna ask." Kaze said, looking over in the direction of the other room.
"About either thing. Looks like I'm sleeping on the floor again."

"Well, the bed was my fault...I was trying to cut off the tag and kinda stabbed it. And the other is because Leila is Leila."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Ah; no worries. That makes more sense than most things here usually do." Kaze said with a smirk.

"Right. Goodnight, Kaze...I think I'm gonna play video games for a few hours first."
Kira yawned and walked through a door. She walked back out a minute later.
"Closet."

OOC: Nothing else can happen until Kaze falls asleep.

OOC: That's what timeskips are for. =P

OOC: It would kill you to play along, wouldn't it. :P

Kaze suddenly became very tired for some reason, and fell asleep.

OOC: There, you happy? =P

Kaze awoke to the sight of a rather pear-shaped gentleman standing before him, twirling his moustache with one hand and bouncing an eggplant off the ground with the other.

-==IC: Kaze==-

"... What." Kaze said, not even sure what to do.

"INDEED! This is most decidedly a tomato." The pear-shaped gentleman rolled away on his five-wheeled unicycle, leaving Kaze sitting on the bottom of a rather large, reddish, or possibly blue, somewhat octahedral-tasting mushroom.

"I don't even know anymore. I don't." Kaze said, as he shook his head, this just adding onto the oddities of the last few days.

"And why, exactly, can you not do what it is that you cannot do? or is it that you will not do what cannot be done, and therefore cannot be done because is is willfully undone beforehand, that is, predetermined failure in the abstract?"
The speaker, obviously, was a gorilla in a tuxedo. He calmly sipped a martini from his perch atop the underside of the ground.

Kaze looked at the gorilla with a blank expression.
"I feel I should know you for some reason, even though this just seems totally odd. Who are you anyway?" Kaze asked, literally not knowing what was going on in this place, and wondering if he had accidentally eaten a mushroom.

"A. Dilworth Humptington, Professional Gorilla."
A. Dilworth Humptington, Professional Gorilla, took a sip of his tea. "You had best begin, young lady. If you're not at the palace by Thirteen O'Noon Sharp, the Queen will be decidedly displeased."

"Young... Lady?" Kaze asked, confused.

"Exactly! But you cannot dance in a dress like that." He gestured dismissively to Kaze's ragged old ballgown. "The Hatter! The Hare and the Hatter will set you up with an absolutely lovely hat to dance in! Now, off with you!" He punched Kaze, and sent him flying rather upside-longways into a rather woody sort of plain. It would, in fact, have been a forest, save that forests have no trees, and the birds sing rather obsequiously in the noonday night.

I hope this is a dream. But if it is, it's the weirdest dream I've ever had, in my entire life. Kaze said, attempting to examine himself to make sure everything was still right, even as he flew through the air.

"Hmmm?" Misu emerged from a bush, wearing a cat-girl costume. "Does Meowster want something?"

Kaze blinked, confused.
"Misu...?" Kaze asked, tilting his head to the side, not understanding why she was weirding a cat girl costume.

"Who is this Misu you speak of, mistress? Don't you recognize your own Cheshire Kitten?"

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze was now utterly confused, and was still not sure if he was actually now a girl in this dream or not.
If it's just a dream. Kaze reminded himself, slightly worried that somehow things had just gotten weird overnight, now.

Misu curled herself around him. "So you're off to see the Hatter, hmm, Meowster? or is it the Hare? They're both utterly mad, you know."
Two signs pointed to the side. The sign on the left pointed right, reading "Hatter".
The sign on the right pointed left, reading "Hare".
"Of course," the Cat said, sliding down to the ground, but leaving her grin up by Kaze's face, "you may simply want to go Elsewhere instead. The weather is lovely there, and they have two queens instead of one. The only issue is that it's right near There, and that's not a nice place."

"Misu, that's creepy." Kaze said, shuddering slightly. However, he frowned, as he looked at the sign, and signed.
Well, down the rabbit hole I go...

The two signs hopped up and switched places with each other. The paths both attempted to switch as well, but being paths and unable to move, they stumbled and became dreadfully mixed up.

"If this is a dream, can't I just control where this goes...?" Kaze muttered, as he tried that; and had absolutely no luck with it.

OOC: =P

"'Tis no dream, fair miss." The two Misu's said, dancing together. "Indeed, tis madness. We're all frightfully, dreadfully, wonderfully mad here."

"Why do you all keep calling me a miss...?" Kaze asked, definitely weirded out by that point, about that.

all ten of Misu wrapped themselves around him, blocking out the light, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself at a fancy old gate. "Hatter" the sign read, though it had been erased and replaced with "Hare", which in turn had been crossed out and replaced with "Hatter". Such a pattern continued down the sign for ever as it approached a limit near infinity, at which point it read instead "Doormouse".

"Doormouse?" Kaze asked, as that seemed odd to him.

The gate, being a rather old and grumpy sort of gate, swung itself open so as to not look at him.

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze frowned, but proceeded.

Tinker raised his mug of tea upside down, and poured the tea from the kettle at the base of his hat into the mug above it. He placed the kettle down atop Misu's back, and she mumbled in her sleep.
"Indubitably." Said Kira, adjusting her large red rabbit ears, "it stands to reason that a clock is not a clock without an hour, and as time cannot be predicted as the universe goes on towards inevitable death, it is only natural your watch would be rather slow, and thus prolong teatime."

"This is a sideshow." Kaze muttered, as he shook his head and sat down by the hare variant of Kira.

Kira offered him a cup of scones, then pulled them away before he could react. "Quite rude of you to sit without your tea  first, miss."
Tinker snickered. "My my, the rabbit's all fired up."
"Hare, sir, not a rabbit, I assure you."
Tinker poured some tea on Kaze's head. "So, off to see the queen, hmm?"

"... I see..." Kaze said, slightly nodding.
"Any way to get back home?" Kaze asked, deciding to start to try to play along.

"Now why would you want to back there? Dreadfully boring."

Kaze's chair began to float away on the tea.

-==IC: Kaze==-

"I'm... not sure." Kaze said with a frown; why did he want to go back home anyway...?

"Well then off you go!"
Tinker gave the chair a push, and Kaze floated away.

OOC: Sorry...but I'm cutting the dream short so I still have stuff for the comic. :P

IC: (Kira): "Wha...Kaze...what......GET OUT OF MY BED!"

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze suddenly woke up, and crashed onto the floor.
"Who, what?" Kaze blinked, the room coming into focus, as he frowned.
"What the; I never went to sleep here." Kaze stated, as he turned around and noticed Kira.
"What just happened?" Kaze asked, utterly confused now.

Tinker's voice echoed in his head. What indeed...ehehehhehhee....

(Kira): "Do not make me regret letting a boy stay here!"

-==IC: Kaze==-

"I'm serious, sheesh." Kaze muttered, as he held his head, trying to piece together what he last remembered before the dream.
"You were talking to me about the mattress issue, and then I just suddenly fell asleep on the floor right after you left..." Kaze said with a frown.
"But there's no way I could've gotten to here without you realizing, because I'm admittedly a big klutz, and you said you were staying up for a while..." Kaze said, but that just made him more confused.
"So, what's even going on here...?" Kaze asked, scratching his head; his expression making it obvious that he honestly had no clue what happened.

"So...you don't normally sleepwalk?"

-==IC: Kaze==-

Kaze shook his head.
"Never; this has never happened before, and that dream was just..." Kaze shuddered at what he remembered of it.
"It's enough to put me off sleep for a while. Insomnia works too, after all." Kaze said, frowning at what was happening.

"Go take a walk around the block. Clear your head. Go Away."

Kaze frowned, as he nodded, and stood up, and began to walk out of the room, but paused slightly, and turned back toward Kira.
"Sorry; if it was really sleep walking, then I'll just lock myself away at night from now on; but I won't bother you anymore..." Kaze said, and then turned back, and began to walk out once more.

"Sure. I was serious about the walk around the block though. Always clears my head."

"Right..." Kaze said with a nod, as he slightly frowned, still walking out the door to the room, as he made his way toward the door that lead out of the place.

(Emma): "Lovely night for a stroll, no?"

-==IC: Kaze==-

Senses on high alert, Kaze whirled around, and if he'd had a knife, would've thrown it.
"And what do you want?" Kaze asked with narrowed eyes.

Emma wrapped her fingers around his neck, digging her sharpened nails into his flesh. "Start with a kiss?"

-==IC: Kaze==-

"Hmm, lemme think, last time something happened with you, you tried to kill me." Kaze said, noting the fingers.
"And it looks like you're trying again." Kaze stated, unsure exactly how to handle this, but didn't let his face show that.

Emma stuck her tongue in his ear. "Come now, sweetie...I'm just here to make you an offer...."

Kaze shuddered.
"An offer?" Kaze asked, suspicious of Emma still.

She twirled around to his other side and stroked his cheek. "Mhm." She blew softly on his other ear. "But not here. Why not come with me to my...hideout, I suppose you'd call it. We'll explain everything there..."

-==IC: Kaze==-

"And what if I refuse?" Kaze asked, eyes still narrowed in suspicion, not trusting Emma much at all.

She placed her face closer to his, her lips nearly touching him. "Why would you do that?"

-==IC: ???==-

"I think that's enough for now, Emma." A mysterious young woman said, as she walked onto the scene, her glasses giving her smile an odd look, as she focused on the two of them in front of her.

(Emma): "Mmm...hello, cutie...Don't believe we've been introduced."

-==IC: Cassie==-

"Just got called in. The name's Cassie." The woman stated with a smirk, as she looked toward Kaze.
"Right. So, I think that he should be given a break."

"Sure...I bet you'll be more fun anyway." Emma slid behind Cassie and sniffed her hair.

OOC: Maybe one day I'll do a comic of Emma's backstory...show her progressing from normal, innocent child to utterly ******* insane.

"I am more fun." Cassie smiled viciously, as she whipped her arm out toward Kaze quickly, and before the boy could react, knocked him out cold.
"Why don't I prove it to you?" Cassie asked, a malicious smile forming.

Emma's smile broadened. "By all means..."

-==IC: Cassie==-

Cassie nodded, and walked right into the apartment, and looked around, looking for the one who would break the group the most, and then smiled viciously, as she stood outside Shell's room, and walked into it, a malicious look on her face.

"Most peculiar."
"Mm?"
"Observe Miss Shell Demij. Is that not premature?"
"Yes, by far. Do we intervene?"
"Perhaps, perhaps not. it may be that a timeline split could be useful."
"I shall submit to your better judgement."

Shell stirred in her sleep, then sat upright, feeling uneasy.

-==IC: Cassie==-

The uneasiness was for good reason, as Cassie quickly knocked her out once again before she could actually stir, and then picked up the unconscious girl, and began to stealthily just walk out.

(Kira): "You have three seconds to put down my friend and explain."

Kira's voice came from an indeterminate point in the room.

-==IC: Cassie==-

"You can't shoot me with that pea shooter without hitting your friend too. Wanna risk it?" Cassie dared with a smile, as she kept walking toward the exit, a smoke bomb rolling across the floor to obscure her escape in exactly three seconds, with a flash bang in the other hand ready to throw after she had more of a lock on where Kira was.

OOC: Sorry, but I'm not making it that easy.
IC: Kira shot one, hitting Cassie right through the knee. "Yeah, sorry, my aim's better than that. And I'm pretty good at throwing my voice too."

Cassie chuckled, as the bullet did seem to slow her down; however, that was when the smoke activated, and she tossed the flashbang backwards in the direction that the bullet came from.
"Voices may lie, but guns don't." Cassie warned, as she continued toward the door.
