My LEGO Nexus Organization

I've noticed that in the LEGO sub-boards, there are sub-boards for LEGO Castle, LEGO Atlantis, and LU General Discussion, all things which have, as far as I know, had their time, and are now gone. Archiving them wouldn't be a too bad idea, and there are new themes that are probably much more deserving of boards, not that we ever use much boards here (>_>).

So I propose adding a Legends of Chima and a Ninjago board to compensate. Perhaps we could also remove the LEGO Star Wars board and have a 'LEGO Licensed Themes' board, as the licenses themes in general board would be relevant for much longer and can be used for multiple themes instead of just one. Minifigures might also be worthy of a board.

If there was someone to talk to about those topics, I would say go right ahead! But seeing how there hasn't been a whole lot of action before, I'm not sure how much love it would get even if it were upgraded...

I say we need a full over-haul of the layout. It was a good idea on paper, but I don't think anyone really liked that layout idea of mine. ^^' But yeah, I definitely agree with this, and I'll get on it either tomorrow, or later tonight, depending on if I get on my laptop or not.

Let's set up potential layouts and VOTE on them...

We forgot about this, and I don't even understand how, especially since I was just thinking about this earlier today. There is no excuses at all; but I agree with MsRR. We can't just have control over everything for once; this time, we all need to be involved. I took it upon myself to handle the current layout, and it didn't go well.

But we can't just ignore the problem; everything Skrief said is true. I'll personally see to it that that, at the very least, happens early tomor- Err. Later today, in my timezone. (Who needs sleep?)

I am against archiving, but in favor of adding the Chima and Ninjago.

The archives are an impossible mess to weigh thru, and people DO revisit some topics for reference. I did just a few weeks ago to find Stick's aquarium property pics. NEVER would have found them by key word search...

Combining the licensed themes to one board is also a decent idea.

And Blade, luv ya, but please don't say you are going to do it if you don't have time.. I can handle it.. and if I am gonna would rather do it sooner than later.

I don't think he necessarily meant true archiving, as much as moving them to the general LEGO board we have... But I definitely agree on the archive. Someone eventually has to make sense of that, because it's a mess of all our old stuff at this point; but I also don't want to delete it, because it's still a part of our history.

I will handle the additions and mergers as soon as I actually finish waking up IRL; that will take a little time, but I'll try not to get distracted, as I have more time in the mornings than most here. =P

I'll definitely need your help on the layouts, I must say; but I can handle the task of the original post, with the new stuff and such. =)

Alright, just as an update, I'm in the middle of working on this, but the old category-less layout was just starting to get on my nerves; which is funny considering I was the one who thought it up. =P It was a good concept; but in reality, it doesn't work well. So I'm adding at the very least temporary categories, so that I can add stuff more easily. Luckily, the modular system I had in place made it easy to move stuff. =P I think that's one thing I'd like to keep(Though not in the way we had it, since half the 'hub' forums were never used at all), just so that it makes updating layouts easier.

OK.. so what we are looking for now are MORE IDEAS..

How do we want to structure things, what should we add or take away.. anything like that.

If you have an example of how something should be set up, post it!  If there is another forum you like the layout of, tell us and explain why.

Spring cleaning & redecorating will work best if we have input.

Keep it positive, please. EG don't say category x stinks, rather category x has had no posts and the game hasn't been upgraded by the makers in three years, or whatever.

Indeed. Imagination is a very key thing to remember. Without imagination, then our lives would be rather boring, and interaction would just be the same all the time... But creativity and imagination opens a whole new world up; for both the cyber and real realms. Creativity and Imagination is a key part of everything, especially LEGO. So that is always something to keep in mind no matter what.
