Title: Virtual Reality Post by: KnightsFan on May 13, 2013, 05:33:37 pm Recently, I began looking up the technologically advanced gaming stuff that's becoming available, from simple anaglpyhic 3D to VR headsets. Is anyone else really interested in seeing where these go for gaming in the near future, or has anyone used any of them? (If so, I'm really jealous). Personally, I really want to play a game like Deus Ex using something like this:

However, I really do want to try out that Oculus Rift sometime; it sounds pretty dang cool, and with enough know-how, I'd bet it'd be pretty dang easy to pull off more sophisticated things with it.
But yeah, it's definitely an intriguing idea, and something that I really want to see things happen with. Imagine, if you will, the ability to superimpose an HUD and game elements onto the existing world (3DS, anyone?) WITHOUT having to hold a device in front of you. Awesome. 8)

Also, do you think it would get annoying? I suppose you can probably switch it off fairly easily, but, personally, I don't think I'd like any sort of HUD in real life. It would get distracting, I think. Title: Re: Virtual Reality Post by: Magical Girl Mimi on May 16, 2013, 04:50:24 pm Well, it would be VERY good for some people, like those with diabetes. Easy way to keep track of sugar levels and the like.
