Do NOT post links that give out Badges for MyLEGO Network. It is considered cheating, and if we find out you've done so, we will take away one Rep Point per incident. ALSO, don't try to go around the ban and post links to other forums with the promise of giving it there, in either PM or on the forum, the same thing will happen like if you were giving it there. Oh, and this rule applies to the "Look Like Echo" link as well, so don't bother selling it either. Actually, don't sell links at all.

Thank you for listening, and if you find something of this happening, either on the forum or in PMs, just report it to the nearest Administrator. If you're reporting it to me, just PM me, and if I'm online I'll get on the case immediately.

Right at this moment, I say yes, unless there are problems.

Zonexus sent me the code to return back an avatar if needed.  It works if you are echo or if you are invisible.


I think what he is saying is that you only need to return it back to normal if you are having problems.

No, it wasn't against the rules then.

I had to still point it out. I know that is how I got at least 2 of my badges.

@Hyper: When did we give them out in public? Hmm? Besides, I never gave any out, Ab-Z posted them in the staff forum, and they were just banned.

@VTP: Because it's recently been abused by people selling stuff for the link.

@Hypr again: Which is the way that it's supposed to be. The award's SUPPOSED to only be for people who were in the first club pages, this is a method to get it by cheating.

The MLNO Rep. If you continually lose them, you'll eventually be banned. They go down from breaking the rules, and up from doing stuff like follow them.

Omega, you should know this;

The Old Timer Badge CANNOT be received the fair way. All these people who get the badge "the fair way" aren't old timers. There is some kind of glitch which made the badge blueprint to be sent only to people who have joined on a certain date. It was somewhere around 2006-2007, I believe.

And the only time I've seen somebody selling info was once.

1. Not true; My test account; my ORIGINAL account, was made back BEFORE 2004, had all the Club Pages, the Castle pages, and DID get the badge without the link ;)

2. Either way, the links were never meant to be used...

I'm actually a little annoyed that anyone would attempt to profit from those links.

The information was given freely because of the inconsistency of how the Badges were handed out (Or maybe we just didn't fully understand the requirements)

However at this point there probably isn't a need for the links anymore, except for the occasional hacked victim.

I realize what the requirements are...

Old Timer: You HAD to have been from the first Club Pages, and joined the second club pages, effectively giving you the award, which you needed to get the badge given out after it was actually released. But, a glitch gave out the award to everyone who join after July 2007 or so. Actually, it was when Play was just being released ;)

Kanoka Club: You had to have gotten the Kanoka Infected Mask award.

SPAs: Unknown requirements, but you earned them if you had a lot of points and such, but you didn't earn them if you were using the links to get all of them(I earned mine the right way ;))

No. If you don't have it, you either didn't have a castle club page, or didn't get the second club page. The Castle pages, or the glitch that gave new members it are the only way that you'd get it legitly, and the second way isn't even legit itself.

I am asking for the link for it. Why can't you just allow people to give the badge links if they don't charge anything for them.

Lego never intended for these links to be used other than being called upon from the migration, so this isn't the intended use.

So. It isn't cheating unless you're caught. LEGO is not gonna catch us here.

And there's that little report button for people to tell.

Just a question, what if the situation is that someone has been hacked and lost his account, and all of his badges?

Oof, yeah that's bad, there isn't a BTB link either, so even if they confirmed everything, and got the OK to find it, they couldn't reobtain that.

So keep telling us that it is bad to have a link for every badge.

Actually it depended on how many stars you had on your CP.

So that means that you had to be at least the second color in order to get all four badges.

More than the second to get ALL four ;)

I should say the second row. I know this because I was on the second row of stars and I got all four badges.

96 Club Points and I forgot how many of what stickers I got.

I had a few backgrounds and maybe 5-10 stickers.

@hypergig you are an interesting character, because you seem so pasionate about things, but at the same time, the points of view seem to conflict. in another post in the past 24 hours, in response to zonexus that he uses "webservices" for auto clicking you said that any way you looked at it - it was cheating. And in that instance we were discussing the clicks someone already had earned.  In the case of the badges it's getting something that hadn't been earned. To me - getting badges through links, when not earned is clearly cheating.

I have all of the links and all of that info, because I am an admin on another site.  and I had to archive / remove them.  That doesn't give me the right to USE them.

this practice has been banned from MLT, MLNO and I also here BZPower, but I don't know that directly.  I am sure other forums don't have that restriction, but I don't know what they are.  However on my screen it's going across the top in Red, and written in the list of things banned. Why continue to ask for it???

I have personally seen it on sale on MLNO more than once: in the forum and on the wiki and on a personal page.

I'll tell you my loophole Omega.What if you got the club code for the badge? That is my loophole. It is not the link, but the code needed.

Heh, apparently no club codes work yet, but I've yet to test that theory. And that only works for one badge, and that one doesn't give much anyway.

No, because if you have the code, you've probably earned it. And even if you found it somewhere, it isn't that bad.

What if someone has given you th club code without you earning them through a LEGO Magazine?

I'm really surprised... Even if nobody is watching you should still do right. I also agree that your views on cheating are fuzzy. Dupes and messing with Lego's site code are cheating in my eyes.

As Omega said to me, don't act like a mod.

then buy the magazine, or find it in some alley somewhere and dust it off and use that copy, it's dirty, but no dirtier than using the codes you shouldn't be.


Yes, I think so, I think we've discussed every possible way to find loopholes and ways to get around the technicality of things.
