Title: Chilled Dreams Post by: Rakoua on September 30, 2008, 12:51:25 pm This is my failed attempt on horror.
1873, Austria, what would soon be Eisreisenwelt A drop of blood fell to the ground, exploding into the pool of the red liquid bellow. A body fell to the ground, creating the sound of already damaged bones cracking. Blood flow stopped inside the victim. Whiten two minutes he was dead, left to be consumed by the ice... Present Day, Eisriesenwelt A guided tour passed trough this enormous system of ice caves, the largest on the planet. Nothing new was happening... The guide explained everything in a few languages, including German, English, Italian and a few more. It was spring, and the ice started to melt. Semir looked at one of the giant ever changing statues of ice melt, wondering what they would reveal next year. But what it would reveal this year would be so much more shocking. Each drop of water made the ice clearer and clearer, taking away the surface layer. And so it happened that suddenly Semir could see a face... A pale, frozen, and very much dead face. His pupils reduced in size as much as they could. His blood chilled as much as the ice surrounding it. He fainted for a second, and looked back into the ice. The face wasn't there. He, thinking that it was just another hallucination, continued. But it seemed so real... It took about an hour for the tour to complete itself. Natural wonders were revealed, ears were frozen and people were satisfied, even though cold. The exit wasn't too hard, as winds that could be compared to the ones of a hurricane exchanged cold air from the cave and hot air from the outside trough a narrow door. But perhaps it was the thought of heat and light of the outside world... A cable car ride down and a twenty minute hike later, Semir was in his car and proceeded to his hotel. He still had a week of exploring in the Alps, before he would go home. After eating his dinner, he turned of his TV. Nothing interesting if you don't know the German language. He decided to go to bed early. The day exhausted him. Minutes passed... Hours passed... he slept calmly, not thinking of the image he saw earlier. He let it bother his subconscious, like he did to all hallucinations. Suddenly, it started raining. Wind speed increased rapidly. Lightning struck the mountains around him, a horrible sound similar to the one of rock exploding. In Semir's dream, another character appeared. It was a young man, his skin as pale is it can get, and his eyes looking like two frozen balls of... Semir couldn't say for certain, but it seemed like blood. «You... have been chosen by the ice and water to free my soul! Do so. Go to my cold grave, and save me...» The figure said. His eyes unfroze, his skin wasn't pale anymore. He was now a young man, only thing that would make him stand out is the quite noticeable knife in his heart. But it too soon disappeared. Something was drawing Semir towards him... Then he woke up. He was at the entrance of the cave, as if he was sleepwalking. The key was left inside the door. Semir unlocked the door, and opened them, not noticing the wind blowing at him. He walked silently trough the complete darkness, almost knowing the way. A flash of light illuminated the cave, and the illumination didn't stop until there was nothing to keep it going. But nobody will care. Semir looked at the ice behind him. This time, it was his face. He let a scream escape his mouth, which echoed trough the icy cave. Then a pale frozen hand reached out of the ice and grabbed him, and pulled him in. The person from Semir's dream appeared, again not looking like it was ever hurt. He replaced his clothes with Semir's and walked out, slowly taking Semir's face away. And in the cave remained a pale face, taking a new shape, left to haunt the cave until someone else was chosen to die and live again in the same manner... Notes: -C&C appretiated -Eisriesenwelt is the largest ice cave system in the world. I've been there once, it's awsome! -Inspired by DB's recent horror stories. Read them too. -Chocolate Pudding Title: Re: Chilled Dreams Post by: KnightsFan on September 30, 2008, 01:55:35 pm Interesting... I've never read a horror story before.

Not bad for a Star Trek Fan
