Title: The Shadowed Land-A Series of Epics by Darth Twilight
Post by: Ddude The Insane on August 24, 2009, 08:24:53 pm
Alright, here it is, my Bionicle Epic. It features the adventures of a team of Toa on a mission to take back Metru Nui-or at least reduce the damage it is taking.

Chapter One-Running From Darkness

Solek ran through the Darkness of the Archives. He wasn't sure where he was going, but that wasn't important. He would stagger through the darkness of the Archives for weeks if he had to. He was looking for an odd stone referred to as a "Toa Stone". Photok had overheard Ahkmou and Makuta discussing an odd stone Ahkmou had found, and Makuta recognized the unusual object as a Toa Stone. He had ordered it be sent to the deepest part of the Archives, where Rahkshi, as well as several other lost and confused Rahi, would keep it protected.

Solek felt around on the wall. He had come upon a dead end, but something told him there was more to it than another dead end pathway. He was right; he found some sort of handle sticking out of the wall. He tugged on it, but no response came. Frustrated, he pulled again with all his might. The door opened a crack, and Solek jammed one of his swords into the crack. "Come on," he thought. "Open already! I know there is something behind this door, otherwise Makuta wouldn't have camoflauged it."

Finally, Solek was able to open the door. He dove in, and the door slammed behind him. "Well, I'm not leaving anytime soon." He muttered, thinking he was alone.

This was a mistake. As soon as it heardd the noise, a slumbering Nui-Jaga snapped awake and launched its tail at him. Solek narrowly dodged, and the Nui-Jaga plunged its tail into the wall behind Solek. "That's odd," Solek thought, "Why would a Nui-Jaga be behind a heavy, sealed door? Unless someone put it there..."

His thoughts were cut off by the Nui-Jaga throwing its tail at him again. Again, he dodged. Frustrated, the Nui-Jaga unleashed a deafening scream. The scream was so powerful it blew the sealed door open, and, unfotunately, put Solek on his knees. The scream was hitting him directly, and he was close to fainting. He was at least glad the door was opened now, and the sound waves weren't simply bouncing around in the room...

As abruptly as the scream had begun, it ended. It still rang in Solek's ears. He prepared for another strike from the Nui-Jaga....

But it didn't come. Solek waited, not looking up. Finally, he wondered what was happening. he looked up, and was startled to see the Rahi was no longer there. "But where did it go? Rahi don't run for no reason, especially with a weakened prey like me."

"Solek? What are you doing here?" Asked Photok. Next to him, Solek was startled to see the Nui-Jaga. But it didn't seem to notice them. It was striking its own reflection on the wall, apparently made of some sort of crystal protodermis. "We need to get out of here before loudmouth over here figures out he's only attacking his reflec..." Photok was distracted by a glowing rock in the corner of the room. Solek and Photok walked over to the rock.

"Do you think it's a Toa Stone?" Asked Solek, excitedly. "I don't know," replied Photok, "But there's only one way to find out..."

Sorry for the wait. I meant to get it up earlier. Expect to wait longer than this time for the next one, school starts for me soon.

Chapter Two~No More Running

"Ugh. Where am I?" Solek asked himself quietly. " Photok and I touched the Toa Stone and..." He trailed off. Upon inspecting himself, he had grown. And his mask had changed. And he had new weapons.

"Toa! I'm a Toa! Photok and I-Photok! Where did he go?" Solek thought. He looked around; he couldn't see Photok in the room. "Where did he go?", He thought. "Photok! Photok! Where are you?" , He yelled. Where was Photok?

Meanwhile, Photok was having his own problems. The Nui-Jaga, seeing Photok unconcious, had attempted to drag him back to its nest, probably to eat in peace. But a trio of Rahkshi Turahk had heard the commotion, and were hunting him down. He was taking random twists and turns attempting to get away, but sooner or later he would run into a dead end...and he would end up dead.

What the Rahkshi didn't realize is that they were being followed. Eager to be a hero, not knowing the dangers of Rahkshi, Solek had follwed the Rahkshi through the Archives. Little did the two new Toa know how close they were, all they knew was the Rahkshi were a problem.

Like he predicted, Photok finally wound up in a dead end. He saw the Rahkshi preparing their Staffs of Fear, and wondered if they would terrify him and eliminate him, or paralyze him with fear, drag him back to Teridex, be interrogated, and then be finished off. Either way, his future didn't look bright.

The Rahkshi saw they had the awkward Toa cornered, and decided to enjoy this fresh meat. They hadn't had much fun lately. They began toying with Photok. One would leap forward, then stop and hop back, while the others pretended to ready their staffs. After a few minutes of scaring him though, they decided to finish the job. One Rahkshi leaped forward...

And fell flat on the ground in mid-leap. He had been hit by a ball of light from behind, which, as you may have guessed, was hurled by Solek. Solek had been experimenting with his powers before attacking. The startled Rahkshi quickly rose to his feet, however, and prepared to attack Photok again while his partners would fend off Solek. "This is it," Solek said to Photok. "We need to defeat these Rahkshi or we're done. Photok, not knowing much about his powers, simply readied his weapons and attempted to form a ball of Light.

Meanwhile...

Tanma had come to the Archives, concerned about how long his friends had been gone. Of course, in a city ruled by Darkness, no Matoran traveled alone. He had taken a friend, Radiak, to look with him. They stumbled upon a room with claws marks near the opening where a door once was. Inside was a stone that glowed brighter than anything they had ever seen before...

EDIT: Change of heart. I'll be handling my two epics.

Chapter Three: Join the Fight

Tanma awoke to see a red Bohrok staring at him. "Wha-Radiak?! Oh dang it..."

Radiak didn't respond. he simply stuttered to the side and fell over. "Oh, right. No Krana. " Tanma remembered that Bohrok couldn't function without Krana. Who had told him that? Was it Solek? "Solek! Photok! I came here to look for them. But I guess now being a Toa makes that easier..."

As it happened, Photok and Solek were in need of finding. They had been giving their all against the Turahk. After Solek surprised one of the Rahkshi with his light ball, a second one hd subdued him. The other Rahkshi responded by pummeling Solek, not worrying much about the cowardly orangish figure they had been bullying earlier. This was a mistake. Photok, having seen Solek fire light, replicated his actions, and then it was his turn to surprise the Rahkshi.

But they knew their only hope was reinforcements. "Reinforcements, coming to look for two rebelling Matoran turned Toa, to help them fight off Rahkshi. Not exactly the kind of mission you volunteer for." Photok thought. "Maybe we'll get lucky. Maybe I could unleash some earth power on them...if I knew how. That would give Solek time to escape, and track down the potenially nonexistant help that was on the way....or I could just punch one of them and hope I get lucky. Yeah. Then I could-" His thoughts were cut off by the previously unconious Turahk slamming him to the wall with its Staff of Fear. "Oh great, now what do I do? It's hopeless! I can't get away. Too scared-oh no! His Staff of Fear! I'm...to scared...to move...aaaaaagh!"

Meanwhile

Tanma was trekking through the Archives, hoping to get lucky. He was following tracks that showed signs of a Rahi dragging metal equipment across the ground. "Knowing Solek, he probably did the same thing I did to the Toa Stone. And I don't think any Rahi would subdue him easily, or take his weapons." Tanma heard distant screams of fear. "Well, I found them. I hope it isn't Rahkshi. I hate Rahkshi..."
