Our staff have instaled a Wiki. So, help it grow! I'm working on a networker page.

Hey, maybe we should comepletly finish one article first and then do the rest. Since the first one wa snetworkers, we should finish it first and then go the Blueprints, individual networkers, and other things.

I think this will make the wiki have something complete for potential viewers to see while we work on the othher things.

Okay, but when we allready have it we should focus on Networkers. It wouldnt be nice for people that found a link to there in google or in another wiki if you put the link on Brickpedia see a bounch of unfinished articles.

Also, this way we can get one done in a couple of hours and we can then get to work on the rest. But okay, we can do more articles at once.

I would suggest a poll, so we can have different suggestions and it a lot easier to keep track of the logo ideas.

Start migrating Database info from the Databases in the Database forums to the Wiki. Go to Navigation on the main page and find what Networker/Item you want to do.

And Cortle, how DID you get that little table?

Made it from scratch with HTML. There are two ways you can get one of your own: copy and paste it from mine (or R8's) and adjust the greeblies as neccessary, or follow this handy tutorial (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/HTML_Programming/Tables).

I would also suggest we make the usage of tables standard procedure, with different colours for items, networkers and so on - rather like Wikipedia has for species or Wookieepedia has for characters and ships. I shall create some example tables to show you what I mean...

I have added data-bases for all the bricks up to orange. Edit them where necessary.

I fixed a few things today, and I'm not even done yet. I also created my userpage and Sandbox, which you should mention somewhere ;) Also, you should get Echo in the sniper scope as the image  :P Or something I could cook up... And you guys don't need to upload images, just link them and then proceed to imageify them if you can... I'll have a poke around and see if I can't figure out a way to upload images.

Tat's because it's supposed to link to another one (on BS01 that is). No it seems you guys have a serious problem on the wiki. There are no sysops or bureaucrats. This means we cannot promote any staff on it as far as I know. In turn this means we cannot delete pages, check edits, promote people, change names or do anything else on the wiki a staff member could do. No I dont know how to remedy this problem. Whoever installed the wiki should be able to promote themselves or others. Either that or an admin here could do that possibly.

I am the most active Admin here... I've looked through the ACP too many times. Nothing.

I've added the basics for Green Bricks, but anyone is welcome to add more. I changed Orange Bricks a bit, finished the Orange Mixer Truck Module, added the basics of Tires, Yellow Bricks, Prehistoric Fern Module, and Green Bricks.

Basically, that's what he's saying... And I've figured out the problem why... You need access to the server itself, or the machine that it's built onto. Because you need to modify options on the machine itself. For more, just look at the MediaWiki thing for installation and such.

I would sure be better to create our own Wiki like BS01 and then we would be able to edit it.

That's very odd. I think this Wiki system is REALLY cheap. I am disappointed. Really disappointed...

Yeah that sounds about right. It means that the admins at SMFFORFREE have to access it. We could always create a wiki on Wikia (http://"http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Wikia") there should be no problems there.

Well we could make a URL in the menu bar... Maybe even have it replace the current wiki url bar... Oh, mind if I help GB out if we go that route? Well we didn't have too much on it (then again I'm comparing the BS01 standards and we had to rewrite all of it over the summer). Anywya as for staff. Admins here will be granted access there and other staff will be chosen based on performance and abilities. As for which staff does what there's nothing really to do. You create and work on pages, deleting stuff that's useless, banning vandals and anything else that needs to be done.

I found out you can use templates IN templates! Like, I used the Infobox template for the Brick template. But, When it says Image File, don't use [[]]s, it doesn't work, just displays a link instead of the picture.

I cant make it so that only members can edit. We need someone from to do it for us.

Or we protect it so all the pages are member-only, but that still leaves new pages... Ask Wikia to help out... Because we had another vandal use STRONG INAPPROPRIATE language on one of the pages.

That would be too compromising... If a rogue got in, the Wiki'd be destroyed, seeing as Sysops/Bureaus can delete, ban, and all of that stuff... plus they could easily block us :-\

in other news, we need to establish actual rules. Like no personal images. We have someone who just uploaded three non-MLN images, and only used one. I hate to say it but... the wiki is going downhill.

Lately, many vandals are popping up, newbies starting dupe pages, useless pages, etc.

There is a lot to edit. But unfortunately, I'm not really interested in the wiki anymore. :-\

I see that, and blame my absence from it as part of the problem. And the ads in the content area that was there last I checked. I've been deleting and undoing what vandals add and what's useless, but I'm just one person...

Prevent new people from registering? 0o Why'd we want to do that, we want to stop anons from editing it without registering, but when GB asked, they said no.

A_A has advertised the MLN Wiki. The MLT "newbs" see it and BAM! They vandalize the Wiki. No wonder, most people from MLT are Lego Message Board spammers.

Ever seen this page that apparently Sturm advertised MLT on? And I don't think they realize that the wiki's almost directly part of this, and would have been if the forum wiki software hadn't been a little... not great.

Could you export the data in the database forums to the articles? You'll need to have it be individual articles though :-\ Just search to make sure it hasn't already been made, and if it has, add it, someone will format it correctly eventually.

well...I am a project manager, I manage the implementations of large scale websites.  Recently I was working for a large theme park, who you may recognize if you visited florida.  and oversaw multiple brands and their technical liason between some of the vendors and new features they wanted.  I also worked in both application development, and within IT organizations.  Basically I lead technical teams.

I'm just wondering... Is it alright to copy and paste articles from the old wiki into the new one?
Also, I can't find a 'make new article' button anywhere, is this on purpose?

2. Just type in the name, go search, and click on the red name you searched... There's no default button like on that, and I would like it to be different anyway... More like BS01...

I do like what you're doing with the wiki. The old one the old one was good, but now it's just getting destroyed by random people with pages about their MLN account,
and other things. This is probably the right thing to do.

You should make a rule about that. "If caught posting an article about your MLN page, then you shall be banned for a week." Something along that line.

I was (still is) the third best wikian of the MLN wiki, I could give any beginners some tips of going to the best.

You're asking us to help it grow... well, I think it could have pages on some of the biggest and best MLNetowrkers (like me 8)).
CrazyRacrXtreme would be a great example of this. He's like the emporer of MLNetworkers. He pretty much is in the positon to do everything on our behalf :)!

We're not having any pages on users. Because people would add about their own accounts or such, which would belong on their userpages... But since we'll need info on the stuff after LRC goes into Beta...

He seems to be pretty good with coding and that sort of stuff.

Last I checked he wasn't, but who knows if he is now or not...

I saw a page called "Echos Avatar Glitch" and it really was a MLN Click request.

I've done some editing to the MLNO page on the wiki lately. I updated the pictures, so they actually are of the Vista Mimic skin.

Oh, and how do you make those tag things that go at the end of posts in the wiki?

I made a few small changes: some grammar tweaks, an extra sticker, a correction of an incorrect fact, and a new loop.

I've made some major improvements to the Wiki's articles by explaining how to get certain items/modules in MLN in the past.

I've made some articles more interesting, added more facts and made some articles more accurate.
