Title: WWII Tiger Tank
Post by: Legodac on December 31, 2009, 11:19:21 am
Still cleaning up and putting things where they should be.

The plastic model by Tamiya was my guide to build the Lego version, that's why those pics are here aswell

Thanks buddy, I just had a short visit to MoC pages, left a comment for you and Rak. Awesome to see you're getting into the trains, very cool.

I've decided on a new format for reviews, tell me what you think... So I'll be completly honest about everything I see.

THE GOOD:

The Studs - In my opinion they add something to the model that it wouldn't have with tiles, it's pretty awesome with them! Great choice to not cover them

The Build - The structure looks great, and is pretty awesome overall, I like the way the top of the turret intergrates with the rest

The Cannon - The cannon looks great, I like it, and it's great that it isn't weak!

The Design - The design works great, looks really similar to a real tank, even tho I'm not sure if it agrees with the actual Tiger tank...

The Details - Tons of tiny little details like the phone pieces on the back, they all add a great flare to the MOC!

The Figs - The minifigs look absolutely awesome on this tank!

OK, now...

THE BAD:

The Photography - I see half of your house back there, it distracts from the MOC, and there are a few blurry shots... Overall, I believe that a diorama behind or a white background would help...

The Treads: The yellow wheel pieces stand out a bit, I'm not sure... Maybe try a different tehnique?

OVERALL

Great MOC, with the only things I don't like the treads and the photography.
Lots of tiny details for one to look at for hours!

89% overall... the photography takes 7%, the treads take 4%.

Amazing work, Legodac!  I do have a few questions, though:  1. How did you make the tip of the cannon barrel?  And 2. In the back of the model, there's some black things going into 1x1 white cylinders.  Are those wires?  If so, what do they do?
