Title: Project: MLNO
Post by: Magical Girl Mimi on January 02, 2010, 01:09:38 pm
This is it! After months of planning, the second forum based RPG of MLNO has been made! This takes place on MLNO... Except, instead of a Forum, this is an actual cyber city! You create your own plots, along with others to have exciting adventures, or stay close to home and work, or fight off the viruses that pop up every so often!

Sign up today, so you won't miss out on any of the exciting plotlines! Post in any of the 9 main locations, any of the buildings you have access to, or even the border between the Outer Net, and MLNO! Venture through the Outer Net while fighting off viruses and the like to potentially reach other cities like MLNO!

Project: MLNO... Now open to members of MLNO! (http://www.mlno.org/index.php/board,259.0.html)

Yeeeaaah. I prefer to play games that actually exist. D: Hmmm I remember when I was "staff" of the other TBRPG. I didn't even do anything. Didn't know WHAT to do.

Ab-Z: I think at one point text based games were all that were computer games; except with a CPU driving the Game Master instead of a real person. Gameplay > Graphics. And in this case... There are none. ;)

Graphics > Gameplay. I like to actually SEE what I get when I "play".

You wouldn't have liked the NES and such. But go play the Legend of Zelda and some uber realistic game, and see if you still say graphics over gameplay. Graphics are nice; but not if they take away from gameplay.

There is little plot or storyline to Roblox, yet it is incredibly fun.

There was little plot or storyline really to LoZ, and it's still fun to this day. Even if I die 24 or more times before beating it. How many times do you get a game over screen on the first playthrough of a new game nowadays?(... I think this is starting to turn into an old vs. new discussion...)

I think a big part of the fun of RPG's for those who play them, is using their minds instead of their mouse.

A_Z, as I really respect your decisions, and that I do agree Roblox is fun, with the Scripting, the Role playing, and etc... but because of this.. the old ways are being torn apart.. Where's the beginnings of RPG? Before Graphics and 3D software? In my mind.. Storyline and Gameplay > Graphics, I can compare this to the movie 2012(Sorry if I'm going off topic) 2012 has great graphics I can tell you that winning lots of people.. but the storyline was ugh... what's the word... unenlightning..It doesn't give you, even if you are watching Los Angelos falling into the sea.. It still can't catch to the sheer horror of how the storyline went through.

The thing is A_Z, RPG is really Role Playing, whether your RPGing as in Real life with pillow forts or anything out of the ordinary, when you have a storyline like saving your pillow princess from the evil laundry basket, there's a storyline that you can go through.. which makes it fun, and you can imagine it. Let me go again with movies and books.. The Movie is by seeing, but the book is by imagining, and the imagining of your own world makes it the best that no $100 Million production can ever top off.. ever.. And when reading a book, just like creating an RPG with words.. Can have extreme effects in the Imagination that I ever wonder why I go to Movies to be entertained.. When all you have to do is go to your friends and just role play..

And here it is, Project: MLNO, a good RPG, a very nice storyline, good enemies and many new adventures that you can make your own.. no more limitations, no more skills to build like in Roblox to play with, all you need is Words to imagine and play with... Because words are very powerful... And a TBRPG, is one of my favorite games when it is tuned to the right storyline..
