I'm all up for it too(And actually thought of maybe doing something like this when I saw the name of the topic. ::))... But the problem is the 'how' of how to do this. It's all fine and well on other sites to do so, but I may need to use some coding... But then again, my former title wasn't the Coding admin for nothing. ;)

I'll work on it eventually. But for now... Moving to Suggestions, where this belongs. ;)

Doesn't matter either way, all the mods know where I live anyway, and no ones gonna knock my door down cause I tell em I live in US!

It helps to figure out time zones!!

Only in some ways(*Points at all the time zones in the States*); though the slot on the profile that shows the local time helps figure out that one.

But there definitely needs to be more Custom Profile Fields that have uses like that.

There's only 4 ::) Then one for Alaska and one for Hawaii.

So, show your nationality flag and state flag as well.

I do not want to have to go to someone's profile to know what part of the world they are in...

Is this about where someone lives, or if they're black or white? Um... That'd be a little racist. :o

I like the idea. :) We could have a drop down box in a custom profile field, you choose a country/state and a little flag would appear under your name. Is that the kind of thing you were thinking? If so, I'd be happy to make some mini flags for states and countries. 

Hopefully, we will all recognize the flags.. I may miss a few. Could they have a name if hovered over?

I don't think states are all that good ideas; Country yes, but I don't know about States.

No, no states... How about a button that just says if you're American or not?

... There's more countries than just USA and elsewhere. There's countries like the UK, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Russia, and other such. ;)

No. That isn't possible. ;)

Could we just add a line? EG.. Canada, West Coast USA, Croatia!

What's what we were talking about; a flag to show where you're from.

But as there's multiple areas of at least Canada and the US that have different timezones...

Which is why a TEXT line is better... Optional, like the purpose and such.

Thanks for mentioning Taiwan, but sometimes there are debates about countries like "Taiwan" wheter they are part of other countries or independent. That may be a problem.

Can you make something above/below the awards display for the flags?

So now some people want to go with text lines, and some people go with the flags.

But if we only have the flag we might not recognize the country which the flag represents.

And in some cases the flag will represent many time zones.

No one has ever declared Taiwan as a country, I guess. There is only such thing called "The Republic of China in Taiwan."

Yes, Taiwan has a flag, but some people still think China "owns" it.

There are over 200 countries in the world, and it is possible that even the small countries have users here, so it may be hard work for Blade to do this.

What one thing that needs to be done? If it's adding every single country, then... maybe. And that's being generous. =P But a) that would take a while, and b) you couldn't expect it at the snap of a finger, and c) it wouldn't have images. =P

Thing is, I know exactly how long it takes to do stuff like that; I experimented with it when I did that controversial Style Switcher move over a year ago. =P It'll take a lot of options, and even then, I'm not sure how many should be included. So, right now, I think just the major ones should be included, the ones everyone knows of, and add more as time goes by.

If people really want it, I could add country flags in the future, but right now that'll likely just kill my computer from loading all those images. xP </jk>

That's mostly a matter of saying that you can do so right now, and actively making sure that people are labeling them right, so that we don't have blogs labeled as interviews and vice versa. =P
