Pre orders for LEGO Universe begin this Friday May 14th! Those who pre-order the game will get a limited edition space explorer minifigure, presumably like the one in the image above. LEGO say the minifigures "are sure to become collector's items, and giving them away is one way we're saying "Thanks!" to fans who order the game before Live One lift off!"

i played it some. i only got to the character customization, then it would not load.

That doesn't mean it does it for everyone else. ;)

that is 1.3 dollars a day. i find it preposterous.

at least they have it for mac...

I don't think I'll be getting it... but £30 isn't too bad. (I think that's like an initial price, I presume the subscription will be lower than that... hopefully. :P )

Have you played a MMOG before? those prices, from what I know of MMOGs, are unusually low...

generally i find 5-6 dollars a month. i find those unusually high. maybe in the uk those are reasonable. but along with a 40 dollar initial fee i find it to be a waste, though if you are looking into it don't let me greatly discourage you...

While some people like the idea, i don't. the game wouldn't load for me. the one time it did load i didn't enjoy it a lot. i believe i have better things to spend my money on, and better things to do. on the other hand, you may really enjoy lu and believe it is a good value, and play it a lot. it shouldn't be us it should be you deciding.

The first year costs $40, and everything after that is $90. Maybe I'll pay for one year, nothing after though.

I'm not too interested in buying the game considering that it is quite expensive for a subscription...

I wonder if it is like SPORE, where you can play offline, without the interaction. If so, then the purchase would be less painful. 2Mak07 enjoys spore without the online option.

Have you been able to play the BETA?

What a ******* rip-off... Not gonna waste my money on this. Roblox is much better of a deal, and you don't HAVE to pay for it. $90 a year? Yeah right. Xbox Live is less than that ($50/yr) and you have thousands of games you can play on it.

@MsRR, no, I have not, but like anything new, it must be given a chance.

@ Ab-Z, when you want the best, well , you know what I'll say..

I suppose it's a question of quality and what you are willing to pay for top notch entertainment.

We don't know how the game will evolve, Lego is leaving part of that up to us.

So I guess one way to view this is, we make or break the game, but I for one will try to make it something special.

Funny that all the hubub bub we've been talking about has been reduced to how much to I need to fork out.

Truth be known, I spend 10 times 90 a year on office supplies, and they don't entertain me...

It's a neat minifig, but ohmehgawd, it's just 40 dollars to have it for a year, not forever. You still have to pay for it thru-out the time that you play, which really does just stink. =(

But yeah... it's a neat minifig, though... =\

@legodac, I ask because so many people, including me,  have had issues with the program, and you have had issues with LDD..
It's a fun game, until it freezes...

I doubt I am pre-ordering or buying, ever.
I prefer to stick to Wizard101, Roblox and Free Realms, where you don't have to buy the game and the Subcription is a lot cheaper.
