Title: The Cruise Ship [Summer Fun Contest Entry] Post by: KnownandUnknown on July 31, 2011, 09:54:41 pm Here is my (almost late) entry for the Summer Fun contest. I was supposed to make a summer-themed thing and I made a cruise ship. I just finished taking pictures and here it is!
My cruise ship has lots of features, which I will show in pictures. (which are sadly blurry) Main pictures: From the right: (http://i.imgur.com/HyXR3.jpg) From the left: (http://i.imgur.com/HhX5o.jpg) From the front: (as a bonus my right big toe is in the picture XD) (http://i.imgur.com/JkVG6.jpg) From the back: (http://i.imgur.com/w4ymC.jpg) Features (inside): --- Opening lid: The top of the ship can be raised to reveal the interior. Being opened: (http://i.imgur.com/ttt6b.jpg) Inside (from the front): (http://i.imgur.com/ji8B1.jpg) --- Kitchen: It's where everybody eats! Complete with mugs, a pan, grill, fish, produce, and PIZZA! General overview (doesn't include fish/grill, they have their own pictures): (http://i.imgur.com/uyd1y.jpg) Fish and grill (sorry for thse being blurry! they're the only pictures I took and I'm in a rush): (http://i.imgur.com/QvZy7.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/PS85L.jpg) --- Scuba gear: Self explanatory. Sadly I lost the flippers I had, so this doesn't have any. (http://i.imgur.com/iMK82.jpg) --- Features (outside): The emergency raft: The raft is secured with a chain and can be deployed. Secured: (http://i.imgur.com/yCs1r.jpg) Deployed: (http://i.imgur.com/88zLG.jpg) --- Stairs (for boarding the ship): Can be folded into a more compact form, and extended. Folded: (http://i.imgur.com/BVmWN.jpg) Extended: (http://i.imgur.com/N66FY.jpg) --- Alarm: Sadly I'm too young to have a youtube account so you can't hear it, but here is a picture of the back of the ship. (button for alarm is on the top, mostly covered on purpose) (http://i.imgur.com/c4XeB.jpg) --- Engine: I can attach the propulsion engine from the fire boat set: (http://i.imgur.com/U0OcW.jpg) --- Bonus minifig pics! (for fun)(I'm so sorry about the quality!) --- Recliners: (http://i.imgur.com/C65AU.jpg) Safety Inspector: (http://i.imgur.com/6TTiv.jpg) Chewbacca: (http://i.imgur.com/yoyTo.jpg) Driver: (http://i.imgur.com/jppDv.jpg) --- That's it! I hope you liked it and didn't mind the poor quality of the pictures. I only have myself to blame for those. Title: Re: The Cruise Ship [Summer Fun Contest Entry] Post by: MsRowdyRedhead on July 31, 2011, 10:00:29 pm It is wonderful, lots of great detail. And you have 24 hours to edit pictures if you wish to, though it is not at all necessary.
Thanks for entering. I can't say anything about the pictures, mine aren't usually any better, great model buddy, I'll be joining you momentarily.

I don't think I could take them any better than I already did... Looks like you spent some time on this, great detail and all round good modelling. I can't say anything about the pictures, mine aren't usually any better, great model buddy, I'll be joining you momentarily. Thank you! Yes, it took some time to forge all the pieces I wanted. It's good to know the pictures aren't THAT bad, because most of mine will be similar quality... might i suggest editing the post to move the main picture higher in the post, so it shows up on the main page? Sadly I had to go to bed and by the time I woke up (now), The Mindstorms Dog has already forced mine off the main page again. :( Title: Re: The Cruise Ship [Summer Fun Contest Entry] Post by: KnownandUnknown on August 01, 2011, 08:16:34 am Nice ship, with lots of playability features as well. A tip for better photography - use a tripod. When you rely on your hand to hold and shoot the camera, you will most likely get a lot of motion blur in your photos. With a tripod, your camera is on a steady base, and you can use the timer function to make it so that the camera takes a picture automatically without you having to touch anything. For closeup shots, never use the zoom function because it'll rarely work well. The macro function (denoted by a flower on your camera) enables your camera to take clear close up pictures. Thanks for the tips, I could've sworn I had macro on. But I wasn't using a tripod... I think I have one somewhere. I'll keep that in mind. |
