The Fate-Fighters: These are the "good guys". For one reason or another, they've lived past an event that was supposed to kill them. They are based on a super-secure island in the Bermuda Triangle.

The Shinigami: Servants of the Lord of Death. Their job is to try to indirectly kill anyone that's lived past their fate. Their central location is unknown, but is believed to be somewhere in America. It is unclear whether or not they are actually Shinigami, but they certainly don't look human...

The Council: The leaders of the Fate-Fighters. They rarely leave their underground bunker.

Name: Lady MaRii
Age: Unclear. Likely early 40s.
Gender: Female.
Bio: Lady MaRii is one of the five members of the Council.  She is generally very lazy, and often appears half-asleep. She is usually seen eating a doughnut.
Appearance: Lady MaRii is rather tall and thin, with pale blue eyes and long, pale blonde hair.
Talent: Authority. As a member of the Council, MaRii can order other Fate-Fighters around.

Name: Lord Feran
Age: Unclear. Likely mid-60s.
Gender: Male.
Bio: Feran takes his duty as a member of the Council very seriously. He is in charge of Defense.
Appearance: Short red hair, piercing green eyes, and a permanent scowl.
Talent: Authority. As a member of the Council, Feran can order other Fate-Fighters around.

Name: Lord ZezxK
Age: Unclear. Likely late 20s.
Gender: Male.
Bio: ZczxK has an unpronounceable name, and is usually called Lord Z. He rarely shows emotion, and seems somewhat cruel.
Appearance: Shoulder-length white hair, gold eyes, and a very creepy smile.
Talent: Authority. As a member of the Council, Z can order other Fate-Fighters around.

Name: Lady Dizkis
Age: Unclear. Likely mid-30s.
Gender: Female.
Bio: Dizkis often seems rather oblivious to whatever happens to be going on, and talking with her will quickly convince anyone that she has no brain whatsoever. In truth, Dizkis is brilliant and keenly aware of her surroundings, and the personality others see is a complete act...
Appearance: Pale orange hair, and dark blue eyes. She generally looks happy.
Talent: Authority. As a member of the Council, Dizkis can order other Fate-Fighters around.

Bio: The leader of the Council never speaks to anyone outside the Council, and has never shown their face to anyone other than the Council members.
Appearance: Master is always seen in shadow, so all that is known is that they are quite tall.
Talent: Supreme Authority. Master has final control over everything in Fate-Fighter society.


(Shinigami)

Name: Sem
Age: ?
Gender: Male.
Bio: Sem prefers to goof off rather than work. He loves to gamble, but will never allow anyone to gamble for their life. (He cheats anyway)
Appearance: He looks like a human skeleton, only with wings.
Talent: Shinigami Eyes. Shinigami can see a person's name and remaining lifespan just by looking at them.

Name: Terom
Age: ?
Gender: Male.
Bio: Terom gets bored easily, and uses humans to amuse himself. He loves apples.
Appearance: If you've seen Death Note, he looks just like Ryuk.
Talent: Shinigami Eyes. Shinigami can see a person's name and remaining lifespan just by looking at them.

Name: Kosha

Gender: Female.
Bio: Kosha loves killing, and has often gotten in trouble for killing people long before they run out of time.
Appearance: Looks different to everyone. Only another Shinigami can see what she really looks like.
As it turns out, "Kosha" is an alias for the traitorous Shinigama Tala'l...or is Tala'l the alias and Kosha the name?
Talent: Shinigami Eyes. Shinigami can see a person's name and remaining lifespan just by looking at them.

Name: Zare

Gender: Female
Bio: Zare seems to switch between two distinct personalities - when her cloak is on, she is a viscous fighter, but when it comes off...
She has an overactive imagination, and tends to imagine herself as a character in a fairy tale, complete with gallant knights and evil dragons.
Appearance: Normally, all one sees of Zare is her black cloak and scythe made of human bone. Her actual appearance, however, is of a blonde girl with gold eyes and tan skin. She generally wears nothing but a bikini under her cloak.

Name: The Lord of Death, the Grim Reaper, etc.
Age: Ageless.
Gender: Male
Bio: The Lord of Death (often shortened to Death) rules over the Shinigami.
Appearance: No human has ever seen him.
Talent: Shinigami Eyes. Shinigami can see a person's name and remaining lifespan just by looking at them.

Name: Nick Termin
Age: 17
Gender: Male.
Bio: Nick is a recent recruit to the Fate-Fighters. He has risen through the ranks quickly.
Appearance: Dark hair, with mismatched eyes. His left eye is green, his right eye is blue.
Talent: Diplomacy. This character is good with words. They can change people's opinions easily, and people generally like them.

Name: Saris Mathi
Age: 19
Gender: Female.
Bio: Saris is Nick's bodyguard. She likes to tease him.
Appearance: Taller than average, with long white hair.
Combat: This character can turn anything into a weapon. They don't get along well with others, but they're nearly unbeatable in a fight.

Name: Emily RGB
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Bio: Emily has a severe case of Multiple Personality Disorder, having no less than five distinct personalities. As none of them know which is the"real" Emily, they have instead elected to refer to themselves by their favourite colours. The two dominant personalities are Red and Blue, followed by Green, then Yellow. Purple is apparently a very weak personality, as she is almost never seen. Thankfully for everyone, the personalities tend to get along.
Appearance: Her style of dress varies from personality to personality. The only constants are her green eyes and fluffy pink hair.
Talent: Varies depending on which personality is dominant.

Bio: Cyril really should be dead. Anyone who pulled the stunt he did should be dead, actually; but he survived. Against all odds, too. Of course, it took him a while to survive, but that's obvious. A few years after, however, he started to be targeted by people, and then heard about a group that was made up of people who should have died; but didn't, and then joined that group.
Appearance: Cyril has messy reddish-brown hair, and overall looks like this guy (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/19/Shinnasuka.jpg). Easiest way to describe his hair, though the picture could be better. =P He typically wears a collared red uniform, a remnant of a time where he followed a different group that was supposedly fighting for peace for all.
Talent: Loyalty, with a slight hint of more combat than other loyalty-based people.

Name: Ichigo
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Bio: Ichigo was once just a Substitute Shinigami, but then, after one incident, was promoted to a normal Shinigami, and has been helping out the Shinigami ever since.
Appearance: Bright orange hair, orange eyes, and wears a black outfit, and wields a massive sword.
Talent: Shinigami Eyes, Loyalty, with more of a lean to combat.

Name: Christina
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Bio: Christina should be dead ten times over by now, due to having death dates from multiple points in time because of her sheer recklessness. However, by being a fate Fighter, she has avoided that. However, she is evil and twisted, and does not deserve the extra lives.
Appearance: Jet black hair, blood red eyes, seemingly pink clothing, however, it was originally white.
Talent: Combat.

I'm assuming energy blasts or otherwise paranormal abilities are out of the question? I can explain the fact he doesn't have any powers easily, I just want to know. =P I'm not subtly pushing powers in like I did with Peter, just so you know. =P

IC: Nick looked at the papers. "What is all this for again?"
The guard shrugged. "Just making sure all the security is in order. You need to sign it for some reason."

Nick looked over the documents. "Let's see...Main Dome is blocking all UVA/UVB as planned, withstood three direct lightning strikes with no ill effects...Security protocols are all normal...OK, looks fine."

OOC: The island is the safest place in the world. Everything coming in is given the most thorough scan possible, and the whole island is underneath a dome that can withstand a nuclear bomb. The island makes all its own food and energy.

Cyril smiled slightly, as he walked around the island. He thought over everything that had happened, and sighed.
Was all that for nothing? I made it back, but... At what cost? The cost of more fighting? Cyril thought, and shook his head.

Someone walked over and handed Cyril a sheet of paperwork.

Cyril blinked, as he looked at the paper.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" Cyril asked, as he raised an eyebrow at the person.

"New potential. New York City. Girl should have been hit by a truck but dodged. Recruit her."

"You'll be partnered with Nick."

"Alright then." Cyril said with a shrug, as he headed toward where he had to go to prepare for the mission. As he walked, his jacket blew a bit, and revealed the dual swords that he typically carried underneath the coat, so that he could be prepared for a fight if the Shinigami ever showed up.
Always another fight, isn't it...

Nick walked up to Cyril. "Ready to go?"

"I guess so; I'm as ready as I'll ever be..." Cyril said with a nod.

"OK, our plane's ready."

Cyril nodded, and walked toward the plane.

(Nick): "You want to fly?"

"Nah, I'm good." Cyril stated; as he definitely did not want to test his luck.

"OK, suit yourself."

Cyril got into the plane, and then waited.

"Um...OK, so she should be in a place called the Golden Tree Hotel..."

"Coming?" Nick asked.

OOC: Bringing it back!

"Yeah; sorry." Cyril said, as he jumped out, and ran to where Nick was.
"So, what's new girl's name?" Cyril asked, curious about the mission.

"Jennifer, I believe. Did you bring weapons?"

Cyril nodded, his dual swords hidden under his jacket, but present, none the less.

"OK, good. Let's move."

~~~~At the Hotel~~~~
"We're here. How do you want to handle this?"

-==IC: Cyril==-

"Locate the girl, explain things, and get out before the Shinigami get here." Cyril said, preferring not to resort to using his swords yet, especially with innocent people around.

"Right. I'll take the elevator, you take the stairs."

-==IC: Cyril==-

"Which floor?" Cyril asked, putting on a shocked and stunned look, to pretend that it'd be a hard time.

"53rd."

-==IC: Cyril==-

"Alrght." Cyril stated, and dashed toward the stairs quickly, and then began to run up them. Unfortunately for the other guy, the elevator was heading up to the 53rd floor already, and was at about the 30th floor at that moment.

OOC: Hehe. >=P

(Nick): "....****."

(Jennifer): "W-what do you want?! G-Go away!"

(??): "........"

OOC: Hehe. =P

Cyril, meanwhile, was dashing up the stairs two at a time... Little did Nick know, this was a typical day for Cyril. However, just to be safe, he drew his swords, as he had an odd feeling something might happen... After all, it always did; he'd be a fool to think otherwise.

"P-Please! Stay back!"

Cyril frowned, as he approached the floor rapidly, his dual swords in hand, and dashed onto the floor, and into the hallway, looking around, as he heard someone call out, and then dashed in that direction quickly.

A black formless thing quickly emerged from the room and shot towards Cyril.

Cyril quickly twisted to the side, as he sliced out with his left handed sword at the blob thingy, waiting to see what it did next to find out what to do after that.

The Thing wrapped itself around Cyril, cutting off his air.

OOC: Question, since you had never answered; can he have special powers, like energy usage?

OOC: let's keep the human's powers realistic.

OOC: ... *Looks at the powers of the 'Thing' that are on par with that stupid shadow creature from Shapers* *Looks at a normal human* Oh, yeah, that seems totally fair...

OOC: Ah, you DO remember Wraith....

OOC: How could I forget? You tried to kill Alex like ten times with him. =P

OOC: Wraith was genderless, but closer to female than male. Like Envy from FMA.

OOC: Eh, it, then. Point still stands. =P

OOC: Remember Wraith's weakness?

OOC: That, I don't. =P

OOC: It starts with an L, and is the same as the name of the main character of Death Note.

OOC: You mean that his weakness is L?! =O

Well, either way, I don't think Cyril has light powers either, given they're not exactly realistic either. =P

OOC: Did he bring a flashlight?

OOC: Why would he bring a flashlight? Or even access it, given he is grabbed, and is holding two swords anyway? =P

OOC: Hmm....then just stay alive for three posts. then Nick will help.

"Grr..." Cyril growled, as he attempted to free his arms as best as he could; however, he focused on staying alive.
And now is when I wish I still had my old powers... Stupid void place...

The blob thing compressed itself around him.

"As if it wasn't bad enough that this STARTED on the 52nd floor, some joker on the 2nd floor pushed every single button..." Nick muttered, as the door opened on the eighth floor.

Cyril growled, as he tried to fight the blob thing as best as he could; but that obviously wasn't working...

"Finally..." Nick exited the elevator, saw what was going on, and charged over and kicked the blob's head off.

Nick stared at the blob as it collapsed. "Just for the record, face-kicking isn't usually this effective."

"I figured..." Cyril said with a slight scowl, as he stood up, and ran to where the room was.

(Jennifer): "W-who are you people?! Go away!"

-==IC: Cyril==-

"We're here to help." Cyril said, as he put his swords away once more.
"You were just attacked." Cyril continued, pointing out the obvious.

"What do you want? What's going on?"

-==IC: Cyril==-

"I just said; we're here to help." Cyril said, and sighed.
"It appears you escaped death recently; and those things want to restore balance, so they came after you. However, you don't have to just sit around waiting for them to attack constantly; there's a group of us, who have all defied fate."

"..Huh?"

(Nick): "Remember what happened when we first tried to explain it to you, Cyril? Speak SLOWLY."

"Hey, give me a break; I had just got thrown out of a void, I had an excuse." Cyril muttered, and sighed.
"You escaped death. These things then. Decided to target. You to fix. The situation." Cyril said, saying it slowly.

OOC: He can be sarcastic when he wants to be. =P

"Why?"


(Nick): "...I can explain it, but while I do, more Shinigami will arrive. And even if they don't, the universe itself doesn't like those that escape their fate, so the odds are very good that a random bolt of lightning (or perhaps a rogue comet) will come through your window. So, what say we escort you to our plane and take you to safety, hmm?"

Cyril nodded, however, explained a little further.
"Basically, since you escaped your fate, things don't apply as much to you; so they want to fix things. I can understand it's not fair, though; I'll explain about why I say that later, though."

"Let's go."

(Guard): "Halt. Remove all bags and shoes, empty your pockets, and place all objects not attacked to your body in the plastic bins. You may keep undergarments on."

(Nick): "Security here seems lighter than usual."

(Guard): "Well, we know and trust you and Cyril, sir."

Cyril sighed.
"Well, the security is kinda needed..." Cyril muttered, but didn't like that that was the first impression Jennifer was going to have of the base.

"OK, now step through these scanners. Do not exit a scanner until it beeps, then you can move on to the next scanner."

"... I'm never going to figure out why two metal detectors would be needed..." Cyril muttered, but did so anyway.

"One for metal, one that scans based on scent particles, one x-ray."

*Inside the dome*

(Nick): "Cyril, take Jennifer to a temporary residence, explain things to her. I'm going to go find Saris. Meet back here in-What the heck? Lady Dizkis? What is she doing out of the bunker?"

Cyril nodded, but looked over curiously himself.
"Who should find out?" Cyril asked, curious about that.

"We both will...she's walking over here. Am I hyperventilating? I think I'm hyperventilating."

Cyril was mostly just intrigued; likely because where he had been from, him and the others in charge of his group were kinda close; and they did the mission briefings themselves.

(Lady Dizkis): *singsong* "Oh, hello! Nice day...nice...sunny...won't last, never does. Cyril...Cyril...sounds like cereal."

"Technically it is only one syllable off, yes." Cyril said with a nod, having been used to the comparison; luckily no-one called him any cereal nicknames anymore.

IC: "Who said that?"

(Nick): "Uh, Cyril. The guy you were just talking to."

(Dizkis): "Oh, hello, Nick! Saint Nick...why don't they call him that any more? Santa Clause is just a misquote of Saint Nicholas...Santa still hasn't brought me that pony. How does he feed all those elves?"

I swear, everyone around here is air-headed. Cyril thought, as a bead of sweat ran down the back of his head.

"Who's she?"

Jennifer and Lady Dizkis asked in unison.

"Who, her?" Cyril asked, motioning to the new recruit. However, he stopped, when he realized Jennifer had asked the same question, and sighed.
Oh boy, there's a lot of things to answer now.

(Nick): *laughs* "Cereal, why don't you explain?"

Cyril glared at Nick at that moment.
"I've done enough explaining today; and don't call me cereal."

"I saved you from that blob, you owe me."

(Dizkis): "Blob...Blob...sounds like an onomatopoeia."

Cyril muttered.
"If I still had my old powers, I'd have both thrashed that blob, and have taken you down twice now for both bringing that up, and calling me 'cereal'." Cyril muttered, looking to the side, as he sighed.
"Jennifer, this is Lady Dizkis, one of the council leaders; Lady Dizkis, this is Jennifer, a new recruit we just rescued." Cyril explained, hoping that would suffice.

OOC: Why do I have a bad feeling about this becoming a recurring thing.

(Dizkis): "...Grass is weird."

(Jennifer): "OK, now can someone explain what's going on here? Where we are? Why people want me dead?"

*Nick explains*

After Nick explained, Cyril summarized.
"Basically; because you avoided an event, sometimes known as a 'fixed' event in space, you no longer 'fit in'; therefore, you can theoretically do anything. Though, regardless of what Nick here tries to tell you, people still do things better than others." Cyril explained, and paused.
"However, because of that, the Shinigami are after us. This appears to be the safest place for us, though."

(Nick): "'Appears'? It really is the safest. It would take a hundred nukes to break in."

"Forgive me if I'm doubtful, after what happened to me." Cyril muttered, still slightly skeptical.

"What on Earth are you talking about?"

"Nevermind..." Cyril said, as he rolled his eyes; no-one at the base believed him, after all.

(??): "If you were attacked, by all means, tell  us. We cannot have any breaches of security."

(Nick): "L-Lord Feran!"

Hearing the name, Cyril whirled, and gripped the handles of his sword, but then relaxed.
"... You really need to change your name." Cyril said, as he shook his head.

(Lord Feran): "Anyway, Cyril, if you know something, tell me now. If I discover you are withholding information relevant to the safety of this island, you will be executed."

"That problem's solved. But just because the outside's protected, doesn't mean teleportation or the like can't allow access into the inside." Cyril stated, still shooting a glare at Feran; apparently the name was that infuriating to Cyril.

"Teleportation? My dear Cyril, that is physically impossible."

"Maybe in this world." Cyril said, as he rolled his eyes.
"And besides, a void opens up in the base, effectively acting as a portal, and it doesn't matter if typical teleportation is possible or not; they'll still get in. That said, luckily, I don't think they can create portals or so either."

OOC: Hence why Cyril doesn't have powers. But where he's from, obviously there's powers. =P

(Feran): "...Until now, we have avoided questioning you about where you come from. No longer. Be at the command bunker at noon tomorrow." *Feran walks off*

Cyril glared off in Feran's direction once more, and shook his head.
"Figures. You get peace in one place, and then you get absolutely no credit in another." Cyril muttered, not liking that member of the council at all.

(Dizkis): "Piece of what?"

"Not 'piece of something'; peace. As in, no fighting."

"...I want a piece of pie."

*wanders off*

"... Really, I have to wonder about her..." Cyril said with a sigh.

Dizkis shrugged. "I'd need to spend a bit more time around him to be sure, but I think I've established a pretty good psychological profile of Cyril."

"So. What now?"

"As I was saying, I'm going to find Saris. You show Jennifer to a residence."

Cyril nodded, and then scratched his head.
"Alright then... This way, I guess..." Cyril said, motioning to Jennifer, as he walked toward the residence area.

"So...how long have you been here?"

-==IC: Cyril==-

Cyril sighed.
"That's a complicated question. I've been in this... country... for a few years; but I only joined the group about a year ago." Cyril explained, hoping that answered her question.

"What happened to you, anyway? Why were you brought here?"

-==IC: Cyril==-

Cyril frowned, but sighed.
"If I told you; you'd just find it crazy." Cyril said, and simply continued to walk toward the housing part of the base.

"In the past five hours, I have narrowly dodged an 18-wheeler, been attacked by a formless blob and some guy wearing a suit with ACTUAL STARS inside it, been rescued by complete strangers, and been taken to a secret supersecure island in the Bermuda Triangle. Nothing you say can surprise me."


OOC: In terms of the suit, think Count Bleck from Super Paper Mario. If you haven't played SPM, get off the forum and play it, I'll wait.

"Huh?" Cyril frowned, as he looked around quickly, while keeping an eye on Jennifer.
"What's wrong?" Cyril asked, not sure what was going on, but was ready to act quickly.

Cyril frowned, as he looked around, trying to find the source of what happened, as he drew his sword.
"Need some help!" Cyril yelled out, not liking this at all.

The air shimmered, and a humanoid figure formed. They wore a long lavender cloak and a lavender blindfold, and the inside of the cloak was black and studded with stars, creating a disorienting 3D effect. They had short brown hair, and there was no real way to tell what gender they were.

Cyril frowned, and drew his dual swords quickly.
"Who are you?!"

"You can call me Miru."

"'Miru'? Sounds like something from that old series, Bionicle." Cyril said, skeptical.

"Perhaps it does, I'm not really in touch with human culture."

*kicks Jennifer's corpse*

Cyril growled, and attempted to utilize his powers, but then scowled, as he remembered that they had been removed after tumbling through the void.
"What do you want?" Cyril asked, his voice coated with the hatred of the being's actions.

"Death. Not mine, of course, but yours...and every other human. I'm a rather proactive Shinigami, you see. I prefer to kill people BEFORE their time is up."

"Why? I think you're just a murderer." Cyril said, gripping his two swords, as he stalled to think up a plan.

"I do love killing."

Miru hovered in the air, waiting for Cyril to make a move.

"Then you're a monster." Cyril said, a glint in his eyes, as he rushed toward Miru.
Even if I don't have my powers, I still have my fighting skills.

Cyril's attack went right through Miru.

"Heh. I should have mentioned...I'm not actually here. Your security is a bit too good for that. I'm communicating through the device I implanted in that girl. The same device that killed her. Ta-ta."
Miru bowed, spun on their heel, and vanished.

Cyril growled, and shook his head, and then replaced his swords on his back.
"Maybe security was right bout all that..." Cyril muttered, with a sigh.

(Lord Feran): "Hm...I appear to have arrived a bit late."

OOC: Reply? He's right behind you.

"Just like all Ferans..." Cyril muttered, but sighed, as he nodded.
"Yeah, you're late. Don't think anything would have changed to save her, though; I couldn't do anything to help her..." Cyril said, a frown on his face.

OOC: ... Seriously? xD /EDIT: Oh, wait, this was in the past, on another page. Oops. >>'

"Explain what happened, at once."

Cyril did so.

"Hm...follow me."

Cyril nodded, and followed Feran.

"We're going to The Bunker. This is our first security breach since we completed the domes, the others need to hear."

Cyril nodded, and followed Feran quickly.

The bunker was pitch black, making it nearly impossible to see the other people there.


(Lord Feran): "Now, tell them exactly what you told me."

Cyril repeated what he had said.

(Lady MaRii): "And this 'Miru'....had you ever seen him/her before?"

-==IC: Cyril==-

"No; only heard of the name from an old line of toys." Cyril said with a shrug.

(Dizkis): "I like toys."

(Lord Z): "Yes, we know."

(Lady MaRii): "What toys, exactly? Who knows, there might be some connection."

"Bionicle; and before you ask, I dunno about whether they're around here, though I'd guess so." Cyril explained with a shrug.

(Lord Z): "Around here? Explain, now."


(Dizkis): "I once got my lips stuck in a Bionicle canister."

Cyril explained about his intriguing past.

OOC: I'm still not handing out spoilers. =P

(Dizkis): "Do pineapples exist where you come from?"


(Lord Z): "Is there anything else you'd like to add? Anything interesting happen while you retrieved Jennifer?"

"... Everything's more or less the same, except likely the time period, and some random details." Cyril stated, and then explained about the being that had attacked him while he was trying to rescue Jennifer.

(Lord Z): "It's possible, then, that you're not from another universe, just an alternate timeline."

"Oh, likely. I wouldn't doubt it, considering those events." Cyril said with a shrug.

(Lord Feran): "Dismissed."

"That's it?" Cyril asked, expecting more discussion, for some reason.

(Lord Z): "We must discuss this, and nobody outside of us is allowed to know what we discuss. And Cyril? Keep everything said here secret. Or else."

"Story of my life." Cyril said with a nod; as a metaphor to say he wouldn't say anything anyway.

"Out. Go do something irrelevant."

"Fine." Cyril said with a shrug, as he walked out.

(Nick): "Woah, were you just talking to the council?"

-==IC: Cyril==-

"Confidential information." Cyril said with a shrug.

"...Sure. I just got a text from Lady Dizkis. It says 'tell Cereal about that thing I'm thinking about.'"

"... I... See...?" Cyril blinked, not understand what that meant at all.
"... Any hints to what she means? I literally have no clue."

"Not to put too fine a point on it, but she's an idiot."

(Lady MaRii): "An ultimately successful test, I think."

(Dizkis): "I disagree. It was too obvious. Miru overstepped his bounds."

(Lord Z): "Dizkis has a point. We can't have the Shinigami getting too confidant."

(Lord Feran): "I'll see to it their next attempt fails."

(Dizkis): "No. Our security must remain weak for the time being."

OOC: Hmm, that sounds intriguing.

"You just noticing?" Cyril asked, raising a skeptical eyebrow.

"My point is, the thing she was thinking about is probably a big white void. Or possible a black hole."

"Probably." Cyril said with a shrug.
"Who knows, but her. No telepaths here, after all."

"What, are people telepathic where you came from?"

"Yeah, kinda." Cyril said, not mentioning he had once had telepathic powers himself.
"Unfortunately, that doesn't apply to here, for some reason." Cyril said with a shrug.

"What was it like where you came from? Did you still have schools and stuff?"

"Yeah; we did." Cyril said with a nod.

"What did they teach you? Same subjects we have here? ...of course, I graduated from Rosewater, and they never actually taught us anything, but..."

"They taught us stuff about things and such." Cyril said with a shrug; it had been a while since he had been at school, and due to everything that had happened, his memory wasn't what it used to be.

OOC: Speaking of memory, The Mark of Athena comes out in under two weeks! =D ... I have no clue how I'm going to handle it though, since reservations are likely already filled up. D=

"We'd obviously have to make sure all the exits were in sight at all times, but..."

"Sure, and maybe later we can meet Jack the Ripper!"

"So, then, if we can't visit landmarks, then what do we do?" Cyril asked, slightly skeptical about that.

(?): "Get in the car? You're under arrest for conspiring to kill the Queen."

Cyril frowned, as he whirled around, in a fight-ready stance.
"Who are you?" Cyril asked, eyes narrowed.

"Inspector Rayn, Scotland Yard."

Cyril was slightly convinced, however, he still frowned.
"Do you have any ID that confirms that?" Cyril asked, not wanting to walk into a trap by the Shinigami.

The inspector flashed a badge.

"You'll have to show it slower; I don't want to be tricked by psychic paper." Cyril stated, still not believing the 'inspector' totally.

"Resisting arrest, are you?"

"I know an unlawful arrest on ungrounded suspicions when I see one." Cyril stated, looking at the detective with a 'your turn' look on his face.

"We have a report from a VERY trusted informant."

"Well your 'informant' is wrong; and, if I would take a guess, wants us dead." Cyril said, as he pulled out his own badge.
"Cyril Williams; licensed to carry a sword for personal protection."

"Sir, please come with me. If you're innocent, we'll let you go."

"I want to trust you; but the fact is that bad people are after us for simply surviving. This could be a trap." Cyril pointed out, a frown on his face.

"Listen, all I know is, a close ally told us you were planning to kill the Queen. It's probably just a prank, but if you could just come to the station so we could get it all fix-" his eyes glazed over, then began to glow red.

"...Kill...Kill...Killllllll.. ..."

Cyril frowned, as he took a step back
"Of all the times for things to go wrong..."

Miru shimmered into existence before them. "Now Officer, be a good dog and kill these pests. Ehehehee..."

OOC: I keep telling you, if you need something to respond to in a RPG, you need to tell me. I can't read your mind. :P

IC: Obeying Miru, the police officer pulled out a gun and pointed it at Cyril.

Cyril sighed.
"We don't want to fight." Cyril said, getting into a ready position anyway.

Miru chuckled.  "ah, but I do."

The officer fired his gun wildly.

Cyril quickly ducked behind a building nearby, and growled.
"Why do things like this always happen to me..."

"The universe is trying to get rid of us. We should be dead, remember?" Nick said, reaching for his cell phone.

"Well it was a rhetorical question, but touche." Cyril muttered, as he shook his head. He didn't want to outright fight the cop, as that would just land them as fugitives, but he didn't see what choice they had at that moment.
"When I find the person responsible for all this, though, I'm going to make sure they die. This is just getting on my nerves."

*Miru appears behind Cyril* "You mean me? I'm not a person per se, but..."

Nicked mouthed the words Keep him distracted at Cyril.

Cyril growled, as he whirled around.
"You know, maybe you should just come here and fight me yourself, you coward. Stop manipulating others who have nothing to do with this fight just to be amused." Cyril shook his head, not sure if the 'person' would even react in any way other than to manipulate someone or something else to try and kill him, but...

"Ah hah hah. This little puppy has fangs! Go on, then, give me your best shot. Ahahahaha."

Cyril then quickly drew his dual swords, and dashed toward Miru quickly, aiming to slash the annoyance down.

His blades went right through Miru.

"... Okay, that's just not fair."

"Ah ha ha ha. I never said I would play fair."

Nick gestured for Cyril to keep talking.

"Then you're still a coward. I meant for you to fight me; without being able to simply stand there and watch while I flail around wildly. What you're doing is just cheap." Cyril said, as he shook his head.

OOC: What's what's-her-name doing, anyway? =P

OOC: You'll see.

IC: "Well, you can't hit me,  but I can still hit you!" A bright explosion appeared where Miru had been.

Cyril jumped back, being used to those type of surprise attacks by now.
"Nice try. But just give up." Cyril stated, as he shook his head.

"Why? I'm having so much fun!"

"Then fight me head on, without any of your tricks. Because I refuse to fight a coward. And that wouldn't be very 'fun' for you." Cyril stated, a cold look on his face.

Miru chuckled, and prepared to fire another blast. A beam of energy hit him, and he vanished.

Saris threw down her odd pistol. "sorry about the wait."

"What took you so long?" Cyril said with a sigh, as he shook his head.
"That thing could've actually hit me that time."

"Sorry. Nick insisted on getting authorization from the Council."

"Whatever... At least I'm not dead!" Cyril said with a shrug.

"And at least we didn't have to fight him. That wouldn't have been good at all."

(Nick): "I can't help but feel that Miru was NOT the anonymous tip the officer mentioned..."

"Hm. Well, it's possible it could have been any of the Shinigami, but yeah... Something just doesn't seem right about this."

"What should we do?"

"I'm not sure." Cyril said with a sigh, as he shook his head.

(Nick): "Well, don't look at me for ideas, I'm just an NPC."

"... What?" Cyril asked, confused at what he meant.

Nick shook his head. "Never mind. We need a plan."

"Yeah. We need to think it up, first, though."

(Nick): "So...any ideas?"

"No, not really."

(Saris): "Why don't we lure out whoever's after us by putting Cereal=boy in a dress and entering him in a beauty contest?"

"... How about no." Cyril said, a look that showed he very much not amused by that on his face.

(Nick): Did Saris just...joke?


"Well, we should find a hotel or something."

"That'll be a good start; we can work from there." Cyril agreed with a nod.

OOC: How far do you want to timeskip?

OOC: Your choice.

OOC: Hm...well, what do you want Cyril to do?

OOC: I don't really know what there is to do. =P

OOC: Serves me right for trying to have a player driven RPG. :P

OOC: Hahaha; like half of yours aren't player driven at times. I can't count how many times I managed to take temporary control over the plot in one of your RPGs. =P

When Cyril awoke, Nick and Saris were gone.

Cyril blinked.
"Ah great, now where'd they go..." Cyril muttered, as he sighed and stood up.

Cyril frowned, and looked around, having another bad feeling.

OOC: Do you need something to respond to in any of the other RPGs?

IC: The air shimmered where the voice had come from.

OOC: Probably. *Shrugs*

"Oh, that's never a good sign." Cyril muttered, as he prepared himself for anything.

OOC: Well, I can do it in Centurion.
But to do it in Casters I'd need to triple-post, and I can't do anything in Alone without a profile. :P

IC: "Du not panik. Eye am e frend."

OOC: They don't have an accent, their voice is just distorted.

OOC: I wonder why I haven't been posting in Casters. It probably is something I can't reply to. =P

"So you won't try to stab me in the back the second I turn away?" Cyril asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Okay; then who are you? And what do you want?" Cyril asked with a frown.

"I see." Cyril said, still suspicious of how that appearance was possible, especially after Miru.

"What kind of aid?" Cyril asked, not entirely certain why he needed aid.

Despite it being an obvious trap, Cyril went toward the Tower of London... But still stayed a little bit away for that moment, sizing it up.

There seemed to be an unusually large number of ravens hovering around the tower that day...

"That's never a good sign..." Cyril muttered, as he stopped, observing the birds.

More ravens were arriving every minute.

Cyril frowned; as that was definitely not a good side, and then began to take a few steps back, not trusting the looks of this.

Thunder could be heard in the distance...

"Oh joy... What'd I get myself into this time..." Cyril muttered, as he shook his head.

It then started to rain.

Lightning struck the ground near Cyril.

"... Well, I guess I have no other choice..." Cyril muttered, as he ran inside; not trusting this situation at all, but going through with it regardless, since he was crazy like that.

A man in a black robe approached him.
"Access to the Tower is restricted right now. You'll have to leave."

"... Considering I was just told a little while ago to come here, and everything seems to be doing everything it can to force me to go into the tower, I'd guess that I need to be here. Not really certain how else to explain it." Cyril said, with a shrug, not wanting to go back outside to nearly get hit by lightning again.

OOC: ... Seriously? =P

"Hold a minute."
He picked up an antique phone from the wall and spoke softly into it for a moment.
"I see." *hangs up*
"Well, 'Ambassador Cyril P. Hawthorne'...you can enter."

Cyril nodded, however, was inwardly slightly confused about the last name, but never showed his confusion.
"Alright, thank you." Cyril said, though had an odd vibe about the stuff that was going on... He never showed that either.

"The Baroness is waiting for you on the top floor. Her Majesty the Queen sends her regards."

Cyril frowned and nodded slightly, as he walked up the stairs, unsure of what he would find up there.

After ascending a few steps, Cyril noticed that he was no longer in the Tower of London, but instead, in an elegant Victorian-era mansion.

"What the..." Cyril said with a frown, as he looked around, not liking what he saw.

"Hi Cereal!" Lady Dizkis wandered in.

-==IC: Cyril==-

"Lady Dizkis? What are you doing here?" Cyril asked, a look of confusion on his face, as this didn't seem right at all.

"He wasn't followed." Lord Z emerged from the shadows. "Our little toy works."
"Wonderful." Lady Dizkis said. "Cyril, I'd like you to follow me. We'll explain soon, but to put it simply...we may have found a way to ensure no Fate-Fighter need die ever again."

"A way to prevent further death?" Cyril repeated, but then nodded, as he followed Dizkis quickly, curious as to what that way was.

Dizkis opened the door into a large room with a round table in the centre. Lord Feran and Lady MaRii were already seated.

"Take a seat, Cyril." Dizkis said, as she and Lord Z took their own places at the table. "We can begin our meeting once the last guest arrives."

Cyril nodded, still unsure of what was going on, but took a seat anyway.

"And here is our last guest now."
The doors opened, and a petite blonde girl entered. She looked totally normal, aside from the wings, tail, and orange skin.

OOC: When shapeshifting goes bad. :P

"Huh? Who are you?" Cyril asked, confused, as he didn't recall ever seeing this girl before. He had seen blondes before, yeah, but no-one like this.

"Huh? Oops."

She flickered, and reappeared as a tall skeleton with golden bones. "I forgot I was in my human form."

"Might want to practice that form a bit, friend." Lord Z chuckled.

"Anyway..." Dizkis said, shushing Lord Z, "this is Tala'l, one of the Shinigami. She's agreed to help us destroy her former allies."

Cyril couldn't help but be a little surprised, but for the first time in a little while, smiled.
"Well, that's the first bit of good news in a little while." Cyril said; as if they had a Shinigami on their side, that could help their fight in a very big way.

"We find you interesting, Cyril." Feran said. "We'd like to be able to deploy you on top-secret missions to help take down the Shinigami."

"I'd be up for that." Cyril said with a nod, as he wanted to destroy the Shinigami just as much as the rest of the Freedom Fighters. Despite his origins being a different place; he certainly had come to know the group as friends; and didn't know why they needed to stay hidden or die, just because one group decided that wasn't right.
"In fact... lemme rephrase that. I would be very honoured to take up those missions, sir." Cyril said, as he wasn't sure what else to do to show his honour for that sort of mission.

A computer-distorted voice replied. "Excellent. But know this, Cyril - If you tell ANYONE, even your closest friends, about your missions...the results will not be pretty."

"I swear loyalty and secrecy to the mission, sir." Cyril stated, a look of determination on his face, as he saluted to back that up.

"Good. The teleporter should be configured to send you back to where Nick and Saris are. Tell them nothing."

"Alright." Cyril said with a nod, as he walked toward the teleporter, and stepped in.

(Feran): "Can we trust him?"

(Dizkis): "For now."

(MaRii): "We forgot to tell him about codenames..."

Cyril appeared next to Nick and Saris - that is to say, he appeared three feet underwater in a swimming pool.

Cyril's first reaction was obviously one of surprise. To be specific it was 'Glurgl?!', but Cyril will never admit it. After getting over his sudden lack of oxygen and swimming to the surface for a deep breath, he looked over, and noticed the two suddenly there.
"Oh, hi there; just thought I'd take a swim while looking for you."

"In a tuxedo?" Saris raised her eyebrows.

OOC: Who says teleporters can't change your outfit?

"Well, yeah, I thought I had to look fashionable doing it." Cyril said with a shrug.

(Nick): *thoughtfully* "Makes perfect sense."

"What about you two, then?" Cyril asked, eying the pool he had just climbed out of.
"Any reason for being near a pool?"

(Saris): "Swimming."
*She starts floating on her back and spinning in circles*

*deadpan* "La la la la la."

OOC: Ah, so I should watch that too? Wasn't certain. =P

"Ah, that makes some sense then. For how long, though?" Cyril asked, slightly confused.

OOC: Yes, the OVA is canon. It takes place between episodes 18 and 19. The next episode preview on it is fake, but hilarious.


IC: (Nick): "Until we find something to do. Lady MaRii already took care of the false arrest warrant on us, anyway."

(Saris): *deadpan* "Wheee."

"No, no, I mean, how long have you been here already?" Cyril asked, not sure how to spin that.

"Oh. Well, it's about noon now, we had breakfast around six, so..."

"Must be a large pool, then. Totally didn't see you until just now."

(Nick): "It is big."

(Saris): "I can hold my breath for three minutes."

"Good for you." Cyril said with a chuckle.

(Nick): "So, were you looking for us all day?"

IC: "You seem stressed. Or distracted. But we have time off for once, and Lady MaRii took care of the false police alert for us."

"I'm always this way, haven't you noticed?" Cyril asked, as it was rather true. Even more so now.

"True. But is there something you'd rather be doing? You certainly don't seem to be enjoying yourself."

(Saris): "Tell me about your mother."

Cyril frowned, as he considered it.
"Maybe. Maybe not. What's past is past, after all." Cyril said, and shrugged.

"You're talking in circles."

"My whole life has been going in circles." Cyril said, as he looked away for a moment.

"Go on.."

"I let my best friend seemingly die; didn't even question it for a good four years, and then lost her again when all this happened; and yeah. Not to mention my parents are now gone, and all my other friends; I'm pretty much the last of my kind." Cyril stated, as he closed his eyes.

OOC: No, he's not a Time Lord; he's exaggerating. =P

OOC: Still haven't see Dr. Who.

IC: (Saris): "...Sounds normal enough to me."

"Maybe for you. But this was my decision; and I'm not typically one to just sacrifice myself." Cyril stated, as he stood up, and began to walk away to a random place; not even knowing where he would go.

"Hmm?" Cyril turned his head toward the source of the voice, a look of suspicion on his face.

OOC: Also, I find it funny how we're planning them exactly as the talents suggest. =P Except with Cyril slightly colder, but still loyal. =P

A winged human skeleton was standing behind him.

"and who are you?" Cyril asked, a scowl on his face, as he contemplated reaching for his weapons.

"Sem. I'm here to kill you."

"That's funny; I'm here to destroy you." Cyril stated coldly, as he quickly drew his dual swords, gripping them as he eyed hid surroundings.
Dang it. I should've stayed back there where it was safer. Where the others were. I let my past catch up again, and this is what happened. Not too much to do now, but fight.

Sem's body blurred and he moved towards Cyril.

Cyril got into a ready pose, and then quickly dodged to the right, attempting to get behind Sem quickly.

Sem shifted to remain in front of Cyril.

Cyril growled, and glanced around his surroundings, always keeping an eye on Sem as much as possible.

Sem split into two and attacked.

OOC: Obviously, there aren't really two Sem's...

Cyril quickly jumped into the air, and attempted to slash out at the one on the left; knowing this was simply an illusion.

It went through the left Sem, and he felt something strike him...from the empty space in the middle.

Cyril flew back from where he was hit, and rolled to a stop.
"Interesting trick. Confuse me with two illusions while you cloak yourself; well played." Cyril said with a smirk.

Sem split into four, and attacked.

Cyril, however, quickly dodged aside, and attempted to head down into a nearby alley. If he could get the high ground, and make his way back to the others...

Sem followed, hurling bones at him.

Cyril simply continued to dodge, as he jumped up ladders and to different parts of the alley, making his way toward the rooftops.

Sem split into ten and charged.

Cyril simply walked until the last moment, and jumped out of the way, finally landing on the rooftop, as he dashed in the direction of the pool quickly.

(Nick): "Hello again. Where's the fire?"

"Right behind me; come on!" Cyril said, hopping down to where the pool was, as he spun around to see where Sem had gotten to this time.

(Nick): "The...hot dog lady?"

Sem was gone.

Cyril frowned, as he turned around.
"That's odd..." Cyril muttered, not sure what was going on there.

"What is?"

-==IC: Cyril==-

"There was someone attacking me just moments ago, but apparently I lost them in the alleyway? That doesn't make sense..." Cyril muttered, as Shinigami usually didn't give up that easily.

"Someone? Who?"

"A shinigami, I think." Cyril said, looking back at the place where the person had been moments earlier.

OOC: Not breaking the silence terms, since it wasn't a mission. =P

"What? Tell me everything."

OOC: back in half an hour.

Cyril explained what had happened after he walked off; how the mysterious Shinigami appeared and attempted to attack him; and how the Shinigami used illusions to trick him the first time.

"Hm...that's out of character for the Shinigami. I wonder what prompted it?"

"I'm not sure. But, really; is it out of character? We saw what happened before, and we know they want to kill us..."

"But they're not supposed to appear in public. They're just supposed to observe, really...the universe itself tries to kill us without Shinigami help."

Cyril frowned, as he shrugged, unable to come up with an explanation.
"I'm not sure. It seems weird to me too."

"And why you? No offense, but compared to other Fate-Fighters, you're...well, you're insignificant."

"I'm not sure..." Cyril said, though didn't really have the heart to tell him otherwise; especially when it might be construed as informing him about secret missions he was unable to talk about.

"Odd. Well, Lady MaRii is still here in England, should we ask her?"

"Up to you. I don't know if we should bug her, but if this is worse news than it seems, then it might be an idea to tell everyone..." Cyril said with a nod.

"So, we're going to see her?"

Cyril just watched as things happened.

(MaRii): "Well, do come in. what can I do for you?"

Lady MaRii was wearing a silk nightgown (despite it being noon), bunny slippers, and a penguin hat.

"Interesting." Cyril said, as he raised an eyebrow.

Lady MaRii yawned. "Did you come here for a reason?"

"Kinda, yeah."

"are you going to tell me?"

"I was attacked by a Shinigami, and no-one can figure out why."

"Interesting. Step inside, I'll get some snacks."

Lady MaRii lead them into her pink living room, where they sat on a pink couch in front of a pink table. She walked out of the room, and returned with a pink plate covered with pink-frosted cookies.
(Nick): *whispering* "I can feel this place sucking the male right out of me."

Cyril shuddered.
"Geez, my friend liked pink, but I don't even know what she would've thought about this..." Cyril muttered as a whisper back to Nick.

Lady MaRii handed them all a mug of tea. of course, both the mug and the tea were pink. "So, tell me about this Shinigami."

Cyril explained, still uneasily looking around the room.

"Yes, lovely room, isn't it?" Lady MaRii said. "I decorated it myself. Now, as for this Shinigami...I think you know why he's after you, right?"

"Not entirely, no." Cyril said, shaking his head, though eye contact suggested the otherwise, even though it also asked for more details.

"Well, assuming said Shinigami is aware of your role...we may already have a leak."

"Oh?" Cyril asked, aware that the other two were still nearby.

"Yes. Perhaps one of the others...or our ally...isn't."

"Hmm... That's not good." Cyril said, as he sighed at MaRii not even getting the hint of what he was trying to say.
"So, do they get informed yet?" Cyril asked, motioning to the two others.

Lady MaRii sighed and explained the very minimum amount of info to Nick and Saris.

OOC: Hey, Cyril was keeping quiet about it. =P

OOC: And Lady MaRii was trying to talk vaguely. :P

IC: (Nick): "Um...Awkward...and pink."

OOC: She wasn't doing such a good job at it. =P

"awkward?" Cyril asked, confused about that.

"Well. We clearly weren't supposed to be involved in this...God, it's so pink..."

(Lady MaRii): "ANYWAY...we need to isolate the source of the leak."

"Well, no hard feelings, right?" Cyril asked, but nodded to MaRii.
"It had to have been someone who could get close. The timing was just too right..." Cyril said with a frown, but then paused.
"Though, I am now remembering something odd that happened like right before all this started..."

Cyril explained the weird happenings that had occurred right before he had met up in the clock tower.

"Ah, that was just our ally. We forgot to mention that codenames will be in use."

"Ahhh; I get it." Cyril said with a nod, though it did seem rather odd.
"I'm just finding it odd that I get attacked minutes after the meeting, that's all." Cyril said with a shrug, even though it was pretty much what MaRii herself was saying.

"Anyone at the meeting you found unusual?"

"Not that I remember..."

"Hm. For now, I think you should just focus on your mission, starting by making a nuisance of yourself. The Shinigami don't want us meddling with destiny, so we should start by making a major change."

OOC: Um...wow...heh, I tend to repeat ideas sometimes, I guess. not that you know what I mean yet. :P

OOC: Sometimes. Did we not just establish that we can link a whole bunch of universes just because of coincidences that are scary? =P

"Messing with destiny; I can handle that." Cyril said with a smirk, remembering the last time he did that.

IC: "First off...well, we have a few ideas. One, start a war. Two, eliminate a major leader. Three, stop a major disaster."

OOC: Bioware-style morality choice! :P

The storm raged fiercely. Strong winds hurled stones, cars, and trees around.
From his vantage point, the Shinigami smiled.

Cyril reached the scene, and gasped.
"That tornado's carrying a car!"

OOC: ... I feel no regret. =P

At that moment, a hedgehog, having been picked up by the tornado, hit him in the face.

-==IC: Cyril==-

"... I appreciate it." Cyril said, his eye twitching.
"But look what we're dealing with here."

The tornado, apparently annoyed, attempted to drop a car on him.

Cyril frowned, as he rolled out of the way of the car just in time.

(??): "AHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAA AAAA...."

(Nick): "OK, how do we handle this? we need to help the civilians."

"This doesn't... seem right." Cyril said, as the car seemed aimed right for him.
"You go rescue the citizens, I'll stop this myself."

A lovely two-bedroom apartment flew at him.

Cyril for a split second considered psychic powers, but then remembered those didn't work now. Instead, he ran out of the way, jumping just at the last second, as he scanned the area, looking for the cause.

"AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHAAAHAHHAHA HHAHAAAHAHHAHA-*cough*--haaa..."

Cyril thought he heard something, and quickly looked in the direction of the noise.

Something human shaped flew past at an extreme speed.

Cyril frowned, as he tried to make out who or what it was.

A sword came very close to his head. An IHOP sign flew past.

Cyril growled, as he drew his own swords, figuring this mysterious fly by person was an enemy.

The person landed. His body was covered in bones, and he wore a red and black cloak with a helmet designed to look like a spider. He also held two long, narrow swords.

Cyril frowned, as he got into a battle position.
"How did I know it was gonna be a shinigami?"

He said nothing, just laughed and slashed with his swords at a blindingly fast speed.

Cyril, however, had had practice with lightning-fast sword attacks, and was able to at least block them.
"You should realize that you leave an opening each time." Cyril said, as he countered at just the right moment.

The Shinigami kicked out with his spiked boot.
OOC: I was considering a random boxing glove, a la Haruhara Haruko from FLCL, but thought better of it. This isn't Centurion. :P

OOC: xD I was wondering if you'd ever refer to those two in the same sentence again. =P

Cyril stumbled back, obviously not expecting that.
"You fight dirty." Cyril complained, obviously not impressed.

The Shinigami pressed his attack.

Cyril was pushed back slightly, but at his first opening, he attempted to stab the skull.

The Shinigami's second set of arms appeared and parried.


OOC: Think Grevious. :P

OOC: Obi wan had help, cheater. =P

Cyril muttered something about a no-good cheater as he leaped back.

The Shinigami advanced.

Cyril lead him away from where they were fighting, to a better spot.

A large robotic bear landed near him and began to play an upbeat polka theme.

The Shinigami attacked again.

(Bear): "And I'ma yodelodleolde along."

Cyril once again dodged, slowly leading the Shinigami to the perfect spot.

The Shinigami slashed at him rapidly.
"Ah yodelodelodelodleodle........ .." The bear's head popped off.

Cyril blocked, even as he backed up to a cliff.

The Shinigami charged.

Cyril dove under the Shinigami as he charged, and attempted to boot him off the cliff, slicing upward with a sword as he did so.

The Shinigami split in two and fell, followed shortly afterwards by a headless robotic bear.

"That seemed too easy..." Cyril said with a frown, as he looked over the side again.

A crossbow bolt flew past his head.

-==IC: Cyril==-

"Yep." Cyril said, as he looked to see where it originated from.

Another Shinigami was on a nearby rooftop. She pointed her crossbow at his head and fired.

-==IC: Cyril==-

Cyril rolled out of the way, and growled.
"I just can't catch a break today, can I..." Cyril muttered with a shake of his head.

She fired a spray of crossbow bolts.

-==IC: Cyril==-

In response, Cyril just dodged in between them.

The Shinigami flew down and kicked at his head.

-==IC: Cyril==-

Cyril both dodged to the side, slashed out at the leg as the Shinigami was still falling with one sword, and attempted to slash the Shinigami in half horizontally with the other.

She blocked quickly, grabbed a dagger from a concealed pocket, and stabbed at him.

OOC: How did she block mid-kick? =P

Cyril whirled out of the way, and attempted to bat the knife out of her hand with one sword, even as he swung out at her upper chest with the other sword.

OOC: Stop killing them so quickly. :P
IC: The Shinigami collapsed in a heap.

OOC: Stop making them be killed so quickly. =P Only one that should've died suddenly is that crazed skeleton guy. =P She should've been heavily injured, and died shortly after without healing, but not killed, as it wasn't an instant kill wound. =P The cut in half thing, yeah, but you blocked that. I just wanted her leg gone, really. =P

"Who's next!?" Cyril asked, knowing that wasn't it.

Two Shinigami, one male and one female, appeared on both sides of him.

-==IC: Cyril==-

"Right then. Let's go." Cyril said, as he dashed toward the female Shinigami first, and attempted to knock her weapon out of her hand.

The male swung a pair of bone nunchucks at his head from behind as the female jumped backwards.

-==IC: Cyril==-

Cyril ducked, as he pushed off from the ground, aiming to dash forward as the nunchucks flew overhead.

The two Shinigami collided, but were unharmed.

Cyril, however, took advantage of the collision, as he attempted to use the brief moment to slash out at the two of them.

OOC: STOP KILLING THEM SO FAST!

IC: A giant foam hamburger smashed into him.

OOC: I point to you Mr. Blocky McBlockington. =P Slashing out =/= hitting. =P Taking advantage of very poor strategies and not toying with them isn't a fault of my own. =P

Cyril's look was of one of utter surprise.

A loud screeching nose echoed through the storm.

-==IC: Cyril==-

Cyril frowned, as he looked at the screeching.

A giant (50+ feet long) metal hawk landed before him. Atop is was a Shinigami, completely obscured by their black cloak. They held a long scythe made of bone.

-==IC: Cyril==-

"I take it you're important." Cyril said, his swords still in his hands.

The Shinigami said nothing. its rattling breaths could be heard behind the hood of its black cloak.

OOC: This can be really dark and epic, or it can end really silly. It's up to how Cyril acts. :P

OOC: Heck yeah dark and epic. =P

Cyril adjusted the grip on his swords, as he cautiously waited for the other Shinigami's first move, realizing it was past time for words.

OOC: if you want dark and epic, just leave the Shinigami's cloak on. :P
IC: The Shinigami drew a deep, rattling breath and pointed at him with its bony hand. The hawk screeched and stabbed downward at him with its beak as the Shinigami leaped into the air, pointed its scythe at him, and fired a ray of pure darkness.

OOC: Dark and epic until the final moments where he rips the cloak off. =P

Cyril dodged to the side, and attempted to climb onto the hawk for a better way to get at the Shinigami.

The hawk's metal plating became electrified.
The Shinigami hurled throwing stars made of bone at him.

Cyril, knowing the warning signs for electricity starting, jumped off the hawk first, barely avoiding the throwing stars, as he reached for the Shinigami to try and get a hold to attack properly.

The Shinigami spun the blade at supersonic speeds. A sonic blast knocked Cyril back as the Shinigami swung at his head.

Cyril flipped in the air, as he blocked the blow, and attempted to disarm the Shinigami, by literally taking off his hand.

The hawk swatted him away with its huge wing, as the Shinigami fired blasts of darkness at him.

Cyril was knocked out of the way of the blasts by the wing, however.

The Shinigami swooped down after him, slashing viciously.


OOC: Spellchecker advises me to change that to "viscountcy".

Cyril dodged to the side, and attempted to slash at the Shinigami's leg.

The Shinigami swung its leg up and kicked.

Cyril moved out of the way slightly, and attempted to grab at the cloak once more.

The cloak went away, revealing...a blonde girl in a swimsuit. She gave a very awkward "meep" sound and curled into a ball.

Cyril opened and closed his mouth a couple times, as he blinked, his mind being unable to comprehend what just happened.
"But, wait, what?"

She remained curled into a ball. "I'm a rock."

-==IC: Cyril==-

"No you aren't." Cyril said bluntly, as he approached the 'Shinigami'.
"What is with that appearance, anyway...?"

"Um. Uh. Pay no attention to the fool behind the curtain?" She remained curled into a ball. "I'm a rock."

"I don't know about that. You're definitely not a rock." Cyril said, as he continued to approach the woman.

She shut her eyes and covered her head. "don't kill me."
The mechanical hawk seemed to roll its eyes.

Cyril sighed, as he shook his head.
"I most likely won't kill you. You're too pitiful for that right now." Cyril said, but he frowned.
"Who are you, anyway, though?"

"I'm a rock."

OOC: Not the sharpest lightbulb at the picnic.

Cyril sighed, as he wasn't sure what to do, not noticing something else happening nearby...

The Shinigami looked up nervously at him. "P-please don't hurt me...I'll...I'll do anything."

Cyril was about to respond, when a blur passed by, and picked up the girl, and ran off, before Cyril could even react.

The mechanical hawk looked at Cyril with a "well that happened" face.

Cyril flew off in prusuit of the blur, then got the Shinigami back and returned.

OOC: There, now back to Zareland. =P

(Nick): "Okay...we were gone all of half an hour helping refugees. So let me phrase this slowly and carefully. You are riding on a giant metal hawk, and there is a naked Shinigami making googoo eyes at you."

"Yeah, and?" Cyril asked, as if it were the most normal thing ever.

"And...well, that's basically it. Can we get lunch?"

"Why wouldn't we get lunch after that?" Cyril asked, raising an eyebrow.

Saris and Nick climbed onto the Hawk.
(Nick): "I cannot WAIT to see the council freak out over this."
(Saris): "We should probably execute the Shinigami. Or at least restrain her."
(Zare): "Verily, sir knight..." *drools slightly*

"She's no harm." Cyril said, and thought for a minute.
"Besides; isn't this fighting fate itself?"

The Hawk looked at him with a "What are we waiting for?" face. It may also have been a "Get off my back or I'll eat you." face.

"Right you are, Silver. Let's go." Cyril said with a nod.

Zare muttered something about dragon slaying.
(Nick): "So, um...how exactly did you capture this?"

"Long story, and it involves a sadistic psychopath whose time was up."

"Uh huh. Because that totally explains the hawk and nude Shinigami."
(Saris): "I want burgers."

"Psychopath caused the latter. Long story." Cyril said again, as he shrugged.

"...Okay. I'm just going to pretend I'm on an airplane and I never met you."

"Well, I can't just say she looked like Death and was actually someone in a swimsuit, you wouldn't believe me." Cyril said, looking at Nick skeptically.

"Cyril Williams, at your service." Cyril said, totally not intending the knight reference, and instead being more deadpan snarker than anything.

"Okay there, Saris?" Cyril asked, raising an eyebrow.

She focused on her food and did not reply.
(Nick): "Um...seriously, what do we do with this Shinigami?"

"Recruit her?" Cyril suggested, still unsure what was up with Saris.

"Why would the council POSSIBLY agree to that?"

"Because she could be a useful addition." Cyril said, recalling the fighting skills of Cloaked Zare.

"But why would she possibly hel-"
(Zare, still out of it): "Mmm...Sir Williams...you're so strong..."

Cyril looked at Nick with a raised eyebrow, as Silver squawked, like 'See?'

Nick shrugged. "Alright, but it's on your head. As is the fact that we're currently flying over a no-fly zone of a hostile nation."
OOC: I imagine it's starting to rain about now too...

OOC: What's wrong with rain- oh.

"Yeah, we might wanna alter course, Silver."

Silver gave him a "You must be an idiot" look.
(Nick): "Worry less about the stainless-steel bird and more about the enemy planes!"
(Zare): "Ooh...Sir Williams...Thou art truly the finest of men..."

"Right. Anyone got anything?" Cyril asked, as he only had brought his swords.

Zare moaned happily.
(Nick): "How long does Mad Cow take to kick in after eating a burger?"

The Hawk screeched threateningly at one of the planes.

"Good question." Cyril said with a shrug.

(Saris): "Do I have to say the obvious? That we are riding on a giant warhawk?"
(Zare): "Yes...Yes, Sir Williams! I'm yours..."

"I thought that was painfully obvious." Cyril said, raising an eyebrow.

"Which part?" Nick said.
One of the planes fired a spray of bullets. Silver dodged, waking Zare  in the process. "What's going on?"

"People apparently don't like us, and want us dead..." Cyril said with a frown, referring to the planes attacking.

She curled into a ball quickly. "They can't want me dead! I'm just a rock!"
(Nick): "Oh, WONDERFUL."

"Where did that thing get put, anyway..." Cyril muttered, looking at Silver as if he had the Cloak or something.

Silver gave him a look that made its lack of respect for Cyril quite clear.
Saris sighed. "If you want something done right.."
She jumped off the hawk, landing on another plane. She ripped open the cockpit and punched the pilot in the throat.
(Nick): "And this is why she's my bodyguard."

"Hey, don't look at me like that; I didn't think to pick it up. I thought you would've." Cyril said, looking away with a shake of his head.

(Nick): "Did you..um...lose something?"

"You could say that." Cyril said, figuring that cloak was important.

"And it's definitely not in the big storage compartment you're sitting on?"

"Storage compartment?" Cyril asked, as he looked down, and opened it.

It was full of spare cloaks.

"Oh, that works." Cyril said, and grabbed one, and tossed it over Zare, hoping for the best.
"Help us, fair lady!" Cyril said, trying to play along here.

Zare wrapped it around herself, and was once more a faceless enigma. She slowly turned to face one of the enemy fighters, and drew a deep, rattling breath. She extended her hand, and a scythe appeared.
(Nick): "I'm gonna say it. This was a very bad idea."

"I have faith." Cyril said, hoping his faith was not misplaced.

Zare fired several blasts at the enemy fighters. The instant they backed off, she swung her scythe at Cyril's head.
(Nick): *ducking* "Your faith is misplaced!"

Cyril ducked, and grimaced.
"Zare; stop it! We aren't your enemies!" Cyril said, as he didn't want to pull the cloak off once more; but it looked like it might be needed...

Zare slashed wildly at him.

Cyril dodged as best as he could, and growled in frustration.
"Zare, snap out of it!" Cyril called out, as he tried to reach for the cloak once more, to get her back to what he assumed was reality for her.

The instant the robe came off, Zare froze and and curled into a ball. "Don't hurt me."

"I'm not planning on hurting you, Zare... You're not an enemy." Cyril said, as he sighed.

"H-how do you know my name? W-wait, I can't hear you. I'm a rock."

"It's me, Cyril." Cyril said with a frown, as he wasn't sure whether to try and comfort her or not.

"D-don't hurt me."

OOC: this Cyril = bad Cyril. Not Zareland Cyril.

Cyril sighed.
"I'm not going to hurt you..." Cyril said, as he held his hand out for her to use to stand up.

She looked at him nervously.
Saris jumped back onto the plane. "Hungry again."

"Already?" Cyril asked, confused about that, as he looked back to Zare, an unsure look on his face.
"Look, I only took off the cloak because you were trying to hurt me... I don't want you dead or hurt any more than you do." Cyril said, as he then turned away, not sure what to do, as he then sat down.

"P-promise?"

"I promise." Cyril said, though he figured with the others around, that would be a tough promise to keep.

"I promise thee," The knight said, "I shall allow no harm to come to thee. Not a single golden hair on thy dainty head shall be touched by misfortune as I yet live."

Zare's eyes grew wide. "Oh...Sir Williams..."

Cyril simply nodded, happy at least that she wasn't thinking that they were trying to kill her.

She hugged him. "I shall follow thee anywhere, mine prince."
(Nick): "we should get her some clothes."

"Yes." Cyril agreed, feeling slightly awkward about the hug for that reason.

Zare did not let go.
(Nick): "The enemy planes are coming back. We should go back to base. Or something. Anything but this."

"No complaints here."

(Nick): "Attention Island Defenses, this is Nick. We are on the big metal hawk. We have a Shinigami prisoner on board. Please do not blow us up."
(Defenses): "Roger that, Nick. Please land outside the dome on Island 3."

Cyril frowned at the word prisoner, but didn't say anything.

Lady Dizkis and Lord Feran were waiting to greet them.

(Feran): "Ah, wonderfully done! Guards, take this Shinigami scum to the prison. We'll soon know all she does!"

Cyril growled as he glared at Feran.
"I would recommend you seal your mouth. I knew a Feran once, and he was the scum of the earth, or worse. I'm not one to judge by prejudices, and I'd say for you to do the same." Cyril stated, calmly, but coldly, as he was still not trusting Feran at all.

OOC: Yeah, Cyril's really pushing his luck, but considering the last Feran he met was evil through and through, I wouldn't blame him. =P

"Young man, I am charged with ensuring the safety of these islands. Even a single security breach can AND WILL lead to the deaths of most to all of the Fate Fighters. I will NOT pass up an opportunity to learn more about our enemy, and I will NOT allow this...THING to wander freely about our sanctuary."

OOC: Keep watching Attack on Titan, that is all I will say. =P

"Then keep her in the dungeons for the safety of her and everyone else... However, let me handle the job." Cyril said, a cold edge to his voice.

IC: "I don't trust you. One of my aides will supervise you at all times, and she WILL be thoroughly interrogated, by any means necessary."

OOC: In fact, I recommend we hiatus this RPG until then. You will have a reason. =P

OOC: Aww...can't we at least have more Zareland until then? Just his "interrogation" of her?

OOC: If we can have a flashback that shows the rest of the convincing, sure. =P

You start it up, though, I have no clue what the prisons are like. =P That said, is there a direct commanding officer that would effectively be in charge of Cyril, aside from the main ones? Like, they control the CO, and the CO 'controls' Cyril. =P

Let me put it this way - they're basically Hell. No light, no warmth, very damp, no bed, no water, food once every other day, prisoners are chained to the wall.
There is an overseer.

OOC: ... How is Cyril even agreeing to this? I'd make a witty sarcastic comment, but nope, can't. =P

OOC: Because otherwise Feran would kill her.

OOC: Yeah, but seriously, chained to the wall? No-one deserves that, and I'm surprised that Cyril won't be speaking out about this later.

There's a prison to keep people safe from prisoners... And then there's a torture room. This is not a prison.

OOC: Feran's policy is to torture prisoners to death.

OOC: Exactly who let Feran in charge of prisoners? He's worse than the Feran from DoaH, at least he just wanted to cause mayhem. This Feran is just a sadist. >_>

He's not a sadist, he's just very pragmatic, and he REALLY hates Shinigami. Sadist would imply he gains pleasure from this, whereas he simply feels that this is the ONLY WAY.

OOC: They get confined to a small house outside the main dome.

OOC: Because Feran is obviously so mentally sound and logical.

IC: (Interrogator): "Now, you're gonna tell me everything abo-"
(Zare): "I will speak ONLY to..um...you said your name was...Cereal, right?"

"Yeah, let's go with that." Cyril said with a sigh, getting tired of correcting people.

OOC: A better question would be, how does the Council have authority? How were they chosen?
IC: "Right. I'll only talk to Cereal."

"Yeah. She'll only talk to Cereal." Cyril repeated, making fun of himself.

IC: The interrogator sighed. "Fine. Then talk to her."

OOC: That doesn't sound good. =P

"Are you feeling okay?" Cyril asked, not even looking at the interrogator, as that person was likely throwing visual daggers at him.

"I'm cold. And naked, so that's why I'm cold, probably. And tied to a wall. And it's dark. AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON!"
She attempted to curl into a ball.

Cyril turned around and glared at the interrogator this time, but sighed.
"It's alright; it'll get better. Somehow." Cyril said, not entirely certain of that, but hoping it would be correct.

"..." She started to cry.
The interrogator rolled his eyes. "Pathetic. This is why you don't play nice with the prisoners!" He pulled out a whip.

"And that's supposed to make things better?" Cyril asked, taking on his deadpan snarker tone, as he looked over at the interrogator.

"Out of my way."
The interrogator roughly shoved Cyril aside and stuck Zare repeatedly with the whip.

Cyril, however, grabbed the arm that held the whip, and flipped him over onto his back.
"I won't tolerate torturing on my watch." Cyril growled, as he glared at the interrogator.

The interrogator's mouth curled into a sneer. "You'd choose Shinigami over your own people? You can rot with her!" He swung the whip at Cyril.

Cyril grabbed the whip mid swing, and pulled it away from the interrogator.
"I am the anomaly to everything. I wish for peace for everyone; and I sure as heck won't stand for you torturing anyone. No-one deserves pain." Cyril glared at the interrogator, a scowl on his face.

The torturer pulled out a knife and stabbed it at Cyril. "Traitor!" He hissed.

Cyril dodged the knife, and slammed his elbow at the torturer's face.
"I fight for what I believe in. I thought you did the same." Cyril stated, looking down at the torturer with a scowl.

The torturer said nothing, simple stabbed for Cyril...then twisted around and plunged the knife into Zare's arm.

OOC: Seriously. Just Cyril, Zare, and the torturer in the room. No witnesses if an "Accident" happens to him.

Cyril growled, and pulled the torturer's arm back, withdrawing the knife, and attempted to have the man 'accidentally' fall on his own knife.

The gallant knight broke free of his restraints. He deftly wrestled the troll to the ground, and the Lady Zare watched as it fell upon its own blade.

Cyril panted, as he stumbled back, not having any tolerance for evil people; even ones who thought they were doing right.

Zare stared at him, her eyes seeming to sparkle with stars.

Cyril blinked.
"How are you even doing that?"

"My, such a talented lass." The knight said, obviously as enchanted with her as she was with him.

"What should be done now, though..." Cyril wondered, as he specifically looked at the dead torturer.

"What shall I do, my lady?" The knight asked her. "Your any desire, I shall fulfill."

(Zare): "...buh..." *drools*

"..." Cyril looked at Zare skeptically.
"You're drooling."

The knight knelt down on one knee and gazed deep into her eyes.
"Thy eyes glisten like the stars above, my lady."

Cyril simply took a seat and watched her drool, as apparently there was nothing better to do.

Nick and Saris entered the room. "We wanted to check on...hoo boy."
He looked at the body and sighed. "It's not like I liked being alive or anything."

"He tripped and fell." Cyril said, as it was true, the body was in that position. He was simply the one who tripped the torturer.
"Not really giving him much pity, though, I hate people who try to use peace as a way to justify their evil actions..." Cyril muttered, having bad memories of that in the past.

(Saris): "Maybe I should guard the Shinigami for a while. you two go rest."

"I can rest here." Cyril said, and frowned, as he looked around and lowered his voice to a whisper.
"I don't necessarily trust Feran... He seems too eager to have an excuse for his violence."

"I trust Saris." Nick said. "We should leave her to try to snap that crazy Shinigami out of whatever daydream she's in, while we go investigate Feran."

"Now that, I can deal with." Cyril said with a nod.

Nick guided Cyril out as Saris pulled something from her pack and sat down next to Zare.

Cyril wondered what Saris was up to, but never commented as he walked out.

"So, what should we do?" Nick asked.

"I'm not sure. But I do wonder how he got appointed to the council..." Cyril said, still whispering.

"The Master chose all the council members."

Cyril frowned, not sure what to think about that.
"Seems odd..." Cyril said, his voice barely audible to Nick.

"I'm not even really sure how the power structure works. The Master appointed the council, but nobody's ever even seen him."

Cyril shuddered.
"I don't have any particular reason to distrust him... But I have had bad experiences with things like that."

"I'm not even sure he exists. Maybe the Council are just using the name to keep their authority."

Cyril frowned, as that would make sense.
"What do we do, then?"

"Hmmm..." Nick paused thoughtfully.
A pink-haired girl walked over. "Um...is that your giant metal hawk?"
"Oh, hey...um...Which are you?" Nick asked awkwardly.
"Red." She answered.

"Red?" Cyril asked, never having heard of her before.

"At the moment, yes." She said.
"Her actual name is Emily, but she has Multiple Personality Disorder. To help keep themselves separate, each personality is referred to by its favourite colour." Nick explained.

"That makes sense, now. Good way of keeping track." Cyril said with a nod, as he held out his hand for her to shake.

She shook his hand, then pulled out a notebook and started scribbling in it. "What's your name?"

"My name's Cyril." The Fate Fighter replied, wondering what the notebook was for.

She wrote that down in her notebook. "Kay, thanks."

"Do you mind me asking a question?" Cyril asked, still looking at the notebook curiously.

"Go ahead."

"What is the notebook for?" Cyril asked, still unsure about that.

"So when a different personality takes over, she can read the notes I left and know who you are."

"Ooooh; that makes sense." Cyril said with a nod, understanding what happened now.

She nodded, then tensed up.  Her facial muscles all shifted slightly, so that she looked like a slightly different person. She shook her head to clear it. "Just a sec." She glanced at the notebook. "Geez, Red's handwriting is terrible...says your name is...C...C...Cereal? That can't be right..."

"Cee ril. C-Y-R-I-L, to explain for spelling purposes." Cyril explained, wanting to at least help people out when they weren't insane about it.
"Which are you, then?" Cyril asked, since she obviously seemed to be a different personality.

"Blue. I'm the dominant personality."

"What different personalities are there, anyway?" Cyril asked, meaning more how many there were and what they were like.

"Me, Red, Green, and Yellow. There's one named Purple too, but she only came out once."

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but... What are they like, in terms of like actual personalities?" Cyril asked, and paused, as he frowned.
"Hopefully that's not asking too much, never met someone with multiple personalities, to be honest."

She laughed. "Well, I'm never 'awake' when they come out, so I'm not really sure. We only communicate with this notepad."

"Ahhhh, that makes a lot of sense, yeah." Cyril said, as he nodded again.
"Would be cool to figure that out, though."

Cyril frowned, as he shrugged.
"Don't force yourself to, I just thought it'd be cool to maybe add like things you feel to the notepad, to try and help yourself out with figuring it out."

She jotted down a note. "OK, I'll ask them to do that, and try to do that myself. Hold on while I check the other notes...Okay, Green doesn't like the toothpaste I bought, Blue wants a faster internet, and Red beat my high score in Candy Crush."

Cyril chuckled, but then paused.
"Wait, Blue wants faster internet? Are you just reading directly from notes, or is this like... Yellow?" Cyril asked, unsure about that.

Blue sighed. "Yellow signs my name sometimes. Since I'm dominant, that means the others will be more likely to go along, or something. Even though her handwriting is nothing like mine."

"Oh, well I guessed right, then." Cyril said with a slight chuckle, though not in the way he meant, but he nodded.
"Sounds like it's a difficult thing, but at least you have a way to deal with it." Cyril said, not sure what else to really say.

"It's been like this since we were seven. We don't even know who the original personality is, though it's probably either me or Red. So I'm used to it."

"That doesn't sound like it was a fun time..." Cyril said, but then frowned.
"Why did you become a fate fighter, though?" Cyril asked, confused about that.

"A doctor decided it would be 'more humane' to euthanize me. He...missed."

"He missed?" Cyril asked, hoping she didn't mean that he missed a vein and injected it right into her body.

"I somehow knew what he was planning - even though nobody told me - and, well, he somehow ended up injecting himself."

"Yikes; I'm sorry to hear that." Cyril said with a frown, as he shook his head at how many people there were that would do anything to end the lives of others.
"I don't feel sorry for that doctor, though..." Cyril said, as he sighed, not liking those kind of people.

"That's true." Cyril said with a nod.
"I just don't think you should've been put through that ordeal, that's all..." Cyril said, though he had never had anything that potentially bad happen to him... Mass amount of fighting, yes, but not a potentially lethal in two seconds situation.

She smiled. "I appreciate the sympathy, but really, it's fine."

"Alright then, if you say so." Cyril said with a shrug.

"Well, one thing is that I'm kinda not from... around here." Cyril said, not actually saying he was likely from a different time, as that would just seem odd.

"Oh? But...nobody is from this island. We were...all taken here."

"It's complicated." Cyril said, scratching his head.
"I'm not even totally sure myself, but I think the reason I keep getting targeted, is because I don't belong in this time at all." Cyril said, trying to hint at it until he could figure out how to handle this.

Nick rolled his eyes. "He's trying to say he's a time traveler."

"Yeah, I was trying to lead up to that with a little more tact. But yeah; long story that, but I should've died because of how I got here. It's why I'm artificially older than I technically should be, too..." Cyril said, shaking his head.

IC: She blinked. "What the heck, I'll buy that." She scribbled in her notebook.

"It's confusing, yes, but it's the truth. Though, apparently this is different, as I don't recall hearing about these things before, but maybe it's partly because I'm here in this time." Cyril explained with a shrug.

"So you're changing the past? Wouldn't that make you disappear?"

"There are fixed points in time and space that always must happen. Maybe more happened in the time void than I expected." Cyril said with a frown, not sure on that either.

She shrugged. "Too heavy for me. So whattya up to?"

Her body tensed, then her facial muscles all shifted slightly. She blinked, looked around, and checked the notepad.

"Yep." She nodded.

"Nice; I'm Cyril as you might have guessed." The Fate Fighter explained for the third time that day to the same person, but didn't mind, as it was at least lessening the chances of having to explain again.

"Yeah. Blue's note said you wanted me?"

Cyril nodded, and explained what he had just explained to Blue.

"Hm. Interesting...I want in."

"Alright; sounds good to me." Cyril said with a nod.
"Any ideas how we could pull anything off?"

"Hm...no. We can't break in, too heavily guarded..."

OOC: Not any further, because I haven't had a chance to do a thing, and I'm not seeing any chances today.

"... Well, maybe that's true, but if we wear like bright red or bright orange, we're kinda bound to stand out a bit."

"But ninjas!"

"Real ninjas wear black." Cyril pointed out.

IC: "..I have a black dress?"

"That'll work." Cyril said with a shrug.

"Yay! I get to be a ninja! HEEEIIIYYA!"

EDIT: Not really. The traditional Ninja Gi is actually a Japanese Stagehand outfit. The audience was trained to ignore people in those outfits, and therefore would not expect it when that person attacked someone on stage.

Cyril wondered for a moment if this was really a good idea.

Green ran off to get her ninja costume.

"... She wouldn't be too bad if she weren't so excitable in Green." Cyril said with a shrug.

"I think all the personalities are a bit exaggerated...want to check on Zare and Saris?"

"Shouldn't we wait for Emily to return?" Cyril asked, as he didn't think it would take that long for her to return with an outfit.

"True."

And so they waited.

Green came back, dressed in complete ninja garb. Her face was covered except for her eyes, and she was holding a large toy sword.

"... a toy sword? Why not a real one?" Cyril asked, as he raised an eyebrow, impressed otherwise.

"I don't own a real sword..."

In response, Cyril unclipped the sheath to his spare sword, and handed it to the girl.
"Might seem odd at first, but it can come in handy in a fight."

OOC: Just as long as she doesn't accidentally stab herself with it before casualty starts to break, everything's perfectly fine. =P

She gave the sword a test swing. It flew out of her hand and gave Cyril a haircut.

Cyril felt lucky that he had barely moved out of the way in time.
"... How about I give you like a sword lesson, then. And like, store it in a central databank in your head or something like that, maybe?"

"Yeah, split personalities don't work  that way."

"Didn't think so, but it was worth a check." Cyril said with a shrug.

"Anyway, teach me, Sensei!"

"Alright." Cyril said, as he headed toward wherever the practice arena was.

OOC: Real swords, or the wooden ones? I'd lean toward real swords, but again, we have no way to heal things yet, so... =P

OOC: Yes. :P
IC: "Yay! I get to learn ninja tricks!"

"I'll try my best." Cyril said simply.

IC: She took a ready stance.

OOC: Okay, do we have, like, any sort of screenshot backup of those awards? This is gonna drive me up the wall. =P

Cyril nodded and drew his sword too.
"Okay, so, since we're using real swords, we have to be careful."

OOC: ...No...we might have to make new ones.

IC: She swung her sword, nearly beheading herself.

OOC: Hmm. I know there was one, but maybe this is a time to get the badges working a little better...

Cyril blocked the blow from hitting herself, and sighed.
"Don't put so much force into it. Use calm fluid strikes."

She tried again. "B-better?"

-==IC: Cyril==-

Cyril watched as the blow still missed him, but only because he was stepping back.
"Yeah, that's much better. You just have to mind momentum, as otherwise you might injure yourself, and that wouldn't be a good thing at all."

Green swung again and fell flat on her face. "I think I got too excited."

Cyril chuckled, but nodded.
"Yeah; happens to everyone on their first sword training match, though." Cyril said, recalling the angry eagerness he himself displayed on his first training match, when he had initially sworn revenge on those who had killed his family.
I've sure come a long way from there... Cyril thought with a slight smirk.

"Something on your mind?"

"Just thinking about the past... Or, I guess, future in this case." Cyril said with a shrug.

"Ooh! Tell me! Tell me!"

Cyril explained about some of his backstory.

OOC: Ask about like a girlfriend or anything, play up the overeager listener/friend. =P

"Sooo coool!!! But...is there anyone you miss back home? Your girlfriend or something?"

Cyril winced slightly, as he looked away.
"I once had a girlfriend..." Cyril said, looking distant, as he sighed.
"That final battle changed things, though. Even if I made it back, it's just impossible for me to be happy, likely."

"O-oh...Well-m-maybe you can be happy here instead!"

Cyril shrugged.
"Your guess is as good as mine, especially since we'd all need to survive long enough for 'happy' to be a useful word." Cyril said, not even having contemplated being truly happy ever again.

(??): "...You're a ray of sunshine, aren't you?"

"Huh?" Cyril muttered, looking around for the source of the voice.

Lord Z was standing behind him. He had an iPod earbud in one ear.

"How long have you been there?" Cyril asked, a not very appreciative look on his face about that.

"Long enough. I'm impressed with you, though. Your training shows dedication."

"Thank you." Cyril said, as it was true; he was dedicated to the different causes he was a part of; though still was unsure of what he thought about someone unintended listening to his life story.

"Indeed. To fight not just the Shinigami, but the universe itself, one must be constantly alert."

As Lord Z said that, Green overextended and fell on her face.

Cyril watched, and sighed.
"Yep, I can understand that." Cyril said, as that was a very good point; though he wondered what kind of point Lord Z had.

"You should be ready at a moment's notice." Lord Z turned and walked away.

Cyril frowned, wondering if that was a warning or a threat, but nodded slowly, and turned back to Emily.

Green nodded. "Kay, let's do this."

"Alright. Get ready." Cyril nodded, with a slight smile, as he did so himself.

She tensed, grinning eagerly.

"Alright, so, basics, use slow, precise motions instead of long ones. It'll still work, but you won't accidentally hit something you weren't intending to." Cyril said, as he showed her off to the side, knowing she wasn't ready for blocking just yet.

She obeyed, still swinging a bit too hard.

Cyril blocked the blow before it went too far.
"Did you feel where it stopped? When swinging in that direction, try stopping your blow yourself at about that point. It'll take some practice, but it may help."
