Title: Black Mesa Post by: Canama on September 16, 2012, 02:25:54 am Let's do this in as few words as possible:
Free fanmade remake of Half-Life. Very good. Download now. Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: Blade on September 16, 2012, 10:01:37 am I back this statement up 100%. Speaking of which, *Goes to play now*

Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: Canama on September 16, 2012, 05:48:15 pm I plan to download it today =P http://blackmesasource.com/perhaps a download link while i'm gone, canama? Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: Blade on September 16, 2012, 06:26:24 pm Yes, what Canama said. =P I dunno your set-up, though, so I'm not sure which mirror would work best.
Also, I'm up to the end of Blast Pit now. =D Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: The Truth on September 16, 2012, 07:50:12 pm Considering downloading it, but isn't it unfinished?
Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: Canama on September 16, 2012, 08:26:17 pm Considering downloading it, but isn't it unfinished? It's finished up to the Lambda Core towards the end of the game; it's all there but the last four chapters (out of 18).In fairness those last four did kinda suck, which is also why they're holding them back: so they can rework them to not suck. Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: The Truth on September 16, 2012, 09:13:48 pm I think I might wait until they're finished.
Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: Canama on September 16, 2012, 11:22:39 pm I think I might wait until they're finished. Be ready to wait another 8 years then :P(For those not in The Know, this mod started development back in 2004) Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: MsRowdyRedhead on September 16, 2012, 11:50:21 pm I plan to download it today =P http://blackmesasource.com/perhaps a download link while i'm gone, canama? Great soundtrack, too. All original pieces. You can find it here (http://www.blackmesasource.com/soundtrack.html). Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: MsRowdyRedhead on September 17, 2012, 12:31:35 am WIN!!
Title: Re: Black Mesa Post by: Blade on September 19, 2012, 02:01:55 pm Yeah; the graphics are a lot better than Half Life 2, though I admittedly can't get the full experience of it, due to my fail computer. =P I liked the addition of Achievements, though I'll likely try for those mostly when I replay after it's fully added to Steam. =)
Truth: The only things missing, as Canama said, is the last four chapters, and the separate deathmatch mode. =P However, they say that it's a good ending point where it is now(Still have yet to get there. >_< I might actually pull off completing my HL2 save before this still. =P Gonna play them in actual order once I get the PC version of HL2, though.), but obviously total closure is nice; but the problem is the wait, it's likely a year or two away... Though, if they get it(And preferably a beta at the very least of Black Mesa Death Match) ready for the Steam release, that'd be awesome. =D |
