Post by: Canama on September 16, 2012, 02:25:54 am
Let's do this in as few words as possible:

Free fanmade remake of Half-Life. Very good. Download now.

Yes, what Canama said. =P I dunno your set-up, though, so I'm not sure which mirror would work best.

Also, I'm up to the end of Blast Pit now. =D

Considering downloading it, but isn't it unfinished?

It's finished up to the Lambda Core towards the end of the game; it's all there but the last four chapters (out of 18).

In fairness those last four did kinda suck, which is also why they're holding them back: so they can rework them to not suck.

I think I might wait until they're finished.

Be ready to wait another 8 years then :P

(For those not in The Know, this mod started development back in 2004)

The trailer is old. The final graphics destroy what is in the trailer here.

Yeah, no kidding. The game looks better than Half-Life 2. My only real complaint is that the bloom is a little too harsh at the beginning of the game, but it gets better later on.

Great soundtrack, too. All original pieces. You can find it here (http://www.blackmesasource.com/soundtrack.html).

Yeah; the graphics are a lot better than Half Life 2, though I admittedly can't get the full experience of it, due to my fail computer. =P I liked the addition of Achievements, though I'll likely try for those mostly when I replay after it's fully added to Steam. =)

Truth: The only things missing, as Canama said, is the last four chapters, and the separate deathmatch mode. =P However, they say that it's a good ending point where it is now(Still have yet to get there. >_< I might actually pull off completing my HL2 save before this still. =P Gonna play them in actual order once I get the PC version of HL2, though.), but obviously total closure is nice; but the problem is the wait, it's likely a year or two away... Though, if they get it(And preferably a beta at the very least of Black Mesa Death Match) ready for the Steam release, that'd be awesome. =D
