Title: LEGO HERO Factory

Discuss the new line here.

the big white guy better be awesome

Big white guy? You mean Stormer?(I'm only using the 'last names'. ;))

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 15, 2010, 02:29:38 pm
The current sets better only be the Small Sets-just because we did not get pics of 'canister' sets does not mean that there will not be any.

Oh yeah, and IMO, the BIONICLE Board should be turned into 'LEGO Action Figure Themes Board', seeing as HF uses the nearsame pieces as BIONICLE, and BIONICLE is classified as an Action-Figure Theme by LEGO.

LAFT Board would include:
Bionicle
Exo-Force
Hero Factory

Ben 10 goes into LEGO- it''s licensed.

Post by: Blade on January 15, 2010, 02:32:25 pm
KZ: Bionicle's too big to have to share a board. And besides, Exo-Force isn't an action figure line, otherwise Agents would be too for having the Robot, and Power Miners... Exo-Force is system. ;)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 15, 2010, 02:36:59 pm
Exo-Force was classified as an Action-Figure Line in Shop@Home-that's what I'm basing it off of, and Action figures can be made out of system. Power Miners and Agents are not because the majority of sets are usual vehicles. Exo-Force had Mechs primarily. No other Line ever did.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 15, 2010, 02:38:34 pm
Rahkshi: The pieces will fit perfectly, as they use the Glatorian hands, the Glatorian heads, and variants of the Av-Matoran limbs. ;)

And as for the price, if it's more than the Stars, it's an even better deal, because it's 7.99. =P

KZ: So then, where's the heads? Action figures usually have heads.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 15, 2010, 02:42:02 pm
@Blade: Some new variants of Avtoran Arms....

Oh, and guys? According to Greg the story team is the same as the one for BIONICLE. Except for Greg, who stays on BIONICLE.

KZ: Not all of them, some have the old arms. ;)

Really? Hmm. So Greg's not gonna be on it too?

MsRR: Already kinda known *Points to BZP*... But, thanks for posting everything at once, even if it's from that site. Also, you put about look at more pics there... Yet they're already in the post. =P

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 15, 2010, 02:50:29 pm
Blade, you are incorrect, those are Av-toran limbs with more natural bended position.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 15, 2010, 02:55:48 pm
That's weird, I thought sure I had seen an Av-toran limb on one of the 6 revealed... =/

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 15, 2010, 03:03:20 pm
Has anyone noticed the fact that they seem to be brining back different Eye colours again? =D

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 15, 2010, 03:04:32 pm
Looks like typical Glatorian eye colours to me... Three Orange, 2 Trans Limegreen, and 1 Trans Blue. ;)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: mtmerrick on January 15, 2010, 05:26:23 pm
ya can't see stormer's eyes. ;)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: The Host on January 15, 2010, 06:24:04 pm
Stormer is the coolest IMO (pun not intended, but whatev).

The one thing that sticks out to me about all of these sets is that the arms are VERY lacking. The whole set seems to be well armoured and weaponed, except for the arms.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 15, 2010, 06:27:04 pm
MTM: *Points at holes in helmet* But you can see his head, which is Trans Ice Blue, like Strakk, Gelu, and Mata Nui. ;)

ZLS: Yeah, well it's not like any small set before the Stars were well armoured in the arm department. And it seems like a throwback to the Nuva in a way(Look at their legs and feet). For a line that's not supposed to be Bionicle... =P

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: The Host on January 15, 2010, 06:32:35 pm
eh, Lego didn't do a bad job. At least we get new pieces.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 15, 2010, 06:54:05 pm
Yes, those new pieces'll be good, especially the new masks(Finally I can make a female that's not blue. ::)), and the more '01-like limbs that are Av-Matoran styled. =D(Those leg limbs'll definitely come in handy)

Also, you can bump the piece count up to definitely four confirmed for each, as those legs have armour. And those legs also seem to have a connector at the top, judging from the top of the armour piece. Therefore, the armour and the leg is separate. =) Plus there's the fact that the legs and armour are different colours... ::)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: The Host on January 15, 2010, 07:01:00 pm
Why is the line called Lego Hero 'Factory'? The Factory part seems odd.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 15, 2010, 07:02:43 pm
Apparently heroes are built for certain situations or something, based off that description. But who knows, that could mean adaptive armour or something. ::)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 15, 2010, 11:32:49 pm
What are the LEGO heroes? I don't see them on the products page.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Sim533 on January 16, 2010, 02:13:29 am
Those are still 'secret'.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 16, 2010, 09:58:31 am
Lionytai: They won't be up until the summer. >_>

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Kritzelei on January 16, 2010, 10:02:22 am
From the sets I've seen on BZP, the only problems with this new line are the name, Hero 'Factory', the set names, which I'm not so keen on having them as human names after getting used to Bionicle, and the sets seem to be Agori sized, not Glatorian size. But they look quite well designed, and it should be good mixing those pieces with Bionicle to create... more Bionicles.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 16, 2010, 10:06:19 am
Are the names seriously that bad? It's not Bionicle. It's not supposed to be Bionicle. Therefore, Bionicle rules are out. And as was pointed out on BZP, it saves the trouble of there being a legal department, because they don't have to make sure the names aren't accidentally infringing on another place's language, ala the Tohunga/Matoran incident.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Kritzelei on January 16, 2010, 10:09:11 am
Well, that not that bad, I'm just saying that, in my opinion, they don't sound the best. But then it's probably because I've been a fan of Bionicle since it started. :)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: The Host on January 16, 2010, 04:53:58 pm
I think the names are dumb too, but they are human, and I'm guessing this line is supposed to be humans who wield elementally charged weapons, so the names are good for the line of sets.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 16, 2010, 07:54:46 pm
Those are still 'secret'.

if they're secret why discuss it here?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 16, 2010, 07:58:41 pm
Lionytai: ... Let's put it this way. They're not leaked... But Lego themselves haven't actually fully put it out. And besides, there won't be a site out now, like how the Bionicle site doesn't update until the sets are out at their official time.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 16, 2010, 08:08:21 pm
So LEGO told us a little bit, and you want us to discuss about it. So it's not a secret!

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 16, 2010, 08:11:30 pm
Let us put it this way: we are all living inside a giant robot named grater of cheese LMB people don't know about it or will get them confused with another thing, like they did when they called Glatorian Gladeoninikas. So it's a secret to them.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 16, 2010, 08:14:17 pm
But if it's a secret only very little people know about it. But here it's a lot of pople.

I think the names are a bit strange too.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 16, 2010, 08:33:16 pm
>_<

LEGO hasn't released it themselves. Until then, and until August or so, there'll be no site. That make any more sense?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 16, 2010, 08:37:24 pm
Yes, but why will LEGO want to say something about it first? Then It won't be that surprising or mysterious.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 16, 2010, 08:42:51 pm
... If LEGO doesn't say anything about it first, how will anyone know the line's out, or such? They have to say at least some things, and the site still won't be up for a while, likely.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 16, 2010, 08:47:23 pm
Why does someone need to knwo that the line's out, but not everyone?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 16, 2010, 08:53:50 pm
............

It's like how NP got the exclusive reveal of Megaman 10, but Capcom never said anything themselves until a few days later. Except in this case, a few days is a month or so(Toy Fair, you see).

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 16, 2010, 08:56:10 pm
LEGO do needs a lto of time to prepare for anything.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Master X: Neo Black on January 17, 2010, 10:12:04 am
Does it really matter? All I know is that they look like they have some pretty good pieces and the arent bionicle, which I am not much of a fan, the do not pose enough of a challenge for me, and they don't look as cool as mechs XD

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 18, 2010, 05:39:42 am
So is this to replace Bionicle?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 18, 2010, 11:04:54 am
Yes.

Oh, and I set no expectations for the names so I cannot say my opinion on them.

oh yeah why is no-one complaining that Natalie is unfeminine?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 18, 2010, 11:16:09 am
KZ: How is it unfeminine? Unless you mean the set, and that's likely because we're just too used to it now... =P

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 18, 2010, 02:47:11 pm
I mean the set...

BTW, Blade, why do you think we're too used to it?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 18, 2010, 02:54:53 pm
Let's see, we've had can sets that aren't all that feminine for the last... 10 years almost? ;)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 18, 2010, 02:57:37 pm
*coughKiinacough*

What about Kiina?

Hope the canister-sized females of this line are like Kiina...

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 18, 2010, 03:00:33 pm
I forgot the word most can sets. ;) *Points at Gorast* =P

check out BZP guys. ;)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 19, 2010, 11:43:52 am
Epic awesomeness.

And it seems the return of Hordika-like feet... Except backwards. I can see how that'll give more human movement. ^_^

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 19, 2010, 11:49:51 am
Trailer doesn't work for me. DX

So I can't see either the Awesomeness or Failness of it.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 19, 2010, 11:53:08 am
People may say it's fail, but I liked it.

It's an av-matoran like torso, possibly elongated. The limbs are what we've seen, though CGI pic two shows Blaze with fully stretched out arms, ala Bendable knees Nuva. Feet seem to be like the Hordika feet, except backwards, and I'm wagering a guess that there's built in axles. Chestplate and emblem unfortunately appear to be one piece, which is too bad. Weapon is two pieces. ^_^

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 20, 2010, 12:03:10 am
Lionytai: ... What?

I mean that most bionicle are male. And most of the minig=figs are male. We wished the females were better.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 20, 2010, 11:47:56 am
It's likely to try to attract the boys in the target age, or so.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: B~T on January 20, 2010, 08:41:38 pm
And it seems the return of Hordika-like feet... Except backwards.

But the feet aren't shaped like Hor - Wait...

Oh I see...

It resembles more like Kalmah feet though.

And the trailer was pretty awesome.

... or at least it surpassed the Glatorian Commercials...  ::)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 21, 2010, 07:03:34 am
It's likely to try to attract the boys in the target age, or so.

I thought more girls love shopping....

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 21, 2010, 11:12:24 am
Lionytai: -_- You missed the point. The female sets are likely not designed to be uber girlie so that the target age group boys will still get the female sets.

B~T: =P I didn't mean the shape. =P Though, those red feet'll be very useful for a future Zero MOC...

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: B~T on January 26, 2010, 05:11:13 pm
I know...

I meant the placement of the "old hand" piece on the foot.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on January 26, 2010, 08:33:58 pm
Lots of good pieces in these sets are good for MOCs.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: The Host on February 04, 2010, 05:53:35 pm
The newer(?) pics on BZP make me not like the line so much, although it does resemble Bionicle, which is a plus. Some of the sets look poorly designed, but it may just be the pics and posing of the sets.

The bike is cool though, as is the large orange set.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on February 05, 2010, 02:16:54 am
maybe it's not sure to come out yet. Changes may be made.

Here is a look at a new teaser video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuGdyqANMg0

Lionytai, they are already in production.. AND will be shown at the International Toy Fair in NY.
TOY FAIR 2010
February 14-17
Jacob K. Javitis Convention Center
New York, NY

Unfortunately, you must be 18 to attend.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on February 05, 2010, 07:24:17 pm
The hands are like the ones of the Glatorian.

We have to be 18 to attend? To bad for me, I'm not 18 and I don't live anywhere near NY.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on February 06, 2010, 10:20:22 am
The hands are the Glatorian Hands. Same for the Heads. They've been using them in everything that requires hands(Except B10), and I like that, because they're better than the old hands in the actual hand category.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on February 06, 2010, 08:33:09 pm
Lego has ran out of creativity of Bionicle.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on February 07, 2010, 09:07:03 am
These aren't Bionicle, and that's not correct. They only just made new heads and hands last year, so they can't make new ones every year.

Oh, Black Thornax Launcher!

And Bionicle's likely an 'inspired by' or something...

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Kritzelei on February 07, 2010, 10:08:50 am
I prefer the orange thornax launcher. ;)

They aren't posed brilliantly here, you can't see them properly... especially the green guy.
EDIT: (http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Tilius/HeroFactory/hero2.jpg) There's a green kalmah tentacle in that meltdown set!

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

TBD: Wait 'til BZP gets to Toyfair. ;)

And that's interesting...

Oh, now I see the orange one.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Ddude The Insane on February 07, 2010, 10:28:07 am
Hey, is it my imagination, or did I see a recolored Hydraxxon mask on one of those things? O_o

Seriously...recycling masks? Lame. Most of those sets look pretty weak, I might get a few though. Like maybe those two vehicles. =D

EDIT: Hey...the "windshield" on that bike...it's a Bohrok Krana cover...thing. =P

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on February 07, 2010, 10:32:57 am
Nope, you saw correctly.

And about those recycled masks thing... *Points at Ackar and Berix* And what's bad about it anyway? We get old masks in new colours. I wouldn't mind; especially since I missed out on Hydraxon, even if I'm likely not getting any of these.

But it's no different than the Mask packs or the two in Tahu Stars.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Kritzelei on February 07, 2010, 11:21:00 am
I like recycled masks, I was so disappointed when they stopped making the mask packs, they were awesome!

I am so glad Xple doesn't have BT thighs.... but it looks like Eltdown has them.

And they need to pose the sets better.

Thunder looks like he (she?) has an Inika torso though...

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on February 07, 2010, 11:31:59 am
EDIT: Hey...the "windshield" on that bike...it's a Bohrok Krana cover...thing. =P

Yeah, I think it's a remade Bohrok. =P Since it shares the teeth/eyes as well. ::)

KZ: It looks a little different to me, but we'll have better pics soon. I never did mind the Inika torsos though...

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on February 07, 2010, 11:34:52 am
@Blade: Eyes. Bohrok Eyes.

And as if the American Toyfare posers were any better... ::)

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on February 07, 2010, 11:36:29 am
KZ: Ah, I messed that up, but I thought they were the eyes. =P Now I remember they had separate teeth.

True, but we'll get pictures of more than the boxes, and maybe more angles. ;)

... Say, did anyone get the prices? Or did they not say this year?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

MsRR said they were released, so somehow we could find them in stores.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

No, they're in PRODUCTION, not released. They're Summer wave sets.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

Sorry, I always misunderstand things.

If they are still in production then we might not be able to get the prices.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

They have the prices planned ahead of time...

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on February 10, 2010, 03:52:05 pm
LEGO must be getting really fond of thornax launchers using zamors... Look at Power Miners (Lavatraz).

Now these use zamor Launchers using Zamors. And probably one other theme too.

I'm not surprised though, the Thornax launcher is the most versatile and the Zamors are the most versatile projectile.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on February 10, 2010, 03:53:25 pm
Plus, they're more appealing than the Thornax, since they come in multiple colours. =P

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on February 10, 2010, 07:11:48 pm
Sometimes they need to put differnt parts in different themes. They can't do that much new parts at a time.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on February 11, 2010, 11:28:37 am
We know. We're just mentioning that it's only like a year old, and already it's being used in a lot of things, much like the original Zamor Launcher was.

It's printed on the Hero Factory boxes and canisters, lionytai, so it's meant to be posted here. ;)

With the newest toyfair pics, I have to say that Meltdown and all the larger sets are awesome. Plus Meltdown has the most pieces of all the canisters, 50 (the inika-build BIONICLE average). And I can say that Rotor and VN use Inika and Makuta torsos, respectively. Not to mention Blaze and Stringer are awesome. Not really liking the other heroes or villains, but I'll give Xplode and Thunder a chance. But not Corroder. Despite being green, he reeks of terribleness. And the Furno Bike +Rotor?

LOTS OF ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE

And the Dropship's function looks kind of cool... But Meltdown, Rotor and the Furno Bike are my favourites of this line.

I almost have to agree with KZ on the HF sets. Meltdown, Rotor and the Furno/Blaze Bike are good, but as for the heroes I still really can only say that I 'like' the white one.

Thunder's colour scheme is not great, IMO. It just looks too plain. Corroder has useful parts, but it does not look good as a set.
X-Plode had potential, but he suffers from skinny arm syndrome, as do many of these sets.
Meltdown looks cool, but the mask is somewhat odd. Still the best of these 4 sets.

The larger sets are good for the most part.
Rotor is packed with orange but I'm not sure about him as a set, since he seems kinda odd in some way.
Von Nebula has a decent colour scheme, and those blue/black plates on his back look like cool pieces.
Furno/Blaze Bike has orange, which is nice, and overall looks pretty good.
Dropship is cool and kinda reminds me of 2008. Having a function is nice, but it should be able to hold more  people.

Like they say, Rotor is a mutated Pohatu Phantoka. He has Orange, grey, and a propeller. They both have that in common...

ROTOR=POHATU PHANTOKA's FATHER =P

Although the Furno Bike's Price is kind of bad... but I don't mind. As long as it manages to beat the Kaxium.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

They probably will get an MLN promotion, probably with two sides, good and evil.

Like a 'HERO Factory Hero Badge: For assisting the heroes in battling the villains!'

Or a 'HERO Factory Villain badges: For sabotaging the HERO factory with the help of the Villains!'

Orange? that's quite a rare color. You must really like the sets

Orange wasn't rare, last I checked. It's been in most fire-themed sets of BIONICLE; Power Miners has supplied useful recolours too; HERO factory's Furno Bike and Rotor have loads of it and that adds up to a lot of orange.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

Well, it's a cool looking piece, although it will be terrible for MOCing. But he looks the coolest IMO (No pun intended).

And I've found that most of the HF sets have bad arm designs...

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

only 1/2 the small sets have the 1-piece arm.  as for the large sets.... *shudder*

Saying that large pieces have no sue in MoCs proves you have no imagination. Every piece can fit in something some way.

You know what I like about Von nebula? He reminds me of Cahdok and Gahdok with his no-elbowed arms.

And the asymmetry just makes the villains cooler. After all... why must every single detail be symmetrical? Why must every single non-Human have Human proportions? Why must they be like BIONICLE 'or else'?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: The Host on February 24, 2010, 02:50:44 pm
I'm not saying asymmetry is bad, but the arms do not look well designed at times, and the lack of posability in some of the arms is bad.

@Lionytai: large pieces are hard to incorporate into MOCs, but at times they can be very useful. It takes a lot of skill to use large pieces well.

-true, but the 1-piece big arms are still freaky. i want pose-able wrists back D:

-depends: say, the piraka asymmetry disgusts me, but others (say hewikki mahri) are fine by me.

-i'm not a big stickler for that

-because i'm a fan of the bionicle storyline - the sets just supplent the story to me.

That's true, but I didn't say they are useless. I just said that they are hard to put in MOCs. Now I add most of the time, it is that way. (Unless you are building Bionicles)

They've been pricey since the Mistika, we just struggled through it. ;) I think it's just the fact that it's a new line that's actually showing how pricey Bionicle was getting.

Apparently, Preston Stormer has an Ice-Plasma weapon... How useless is that?

Ice is cold, Plasma is hot.

How does that even work?

*imagines weapon being used*

Ice: *meltmeltmtelt*
Plasma: *burnburnburn*

Which would mean it would be useless, since one would get destroyed...

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: lionytai on March 15, 2010, 06:52:31 am
Plasma is not neccearily hot. Think of your plasma TV if yuo have one. When it is not used, it's not hot, but it's still plasma.

There are both hot and cold plasmas... which kind of Plasma are we talking about?

Seeing as the most common one in BIONICLE is the heated ones, that's what I'm going in. I'm talking in BIONICLE Terms.

And not to mention, plasma TVs don't exist.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

BTW, we think plasma as hot because it can be heated to very hot.

No, they don't. Plasma TVs do not exist. They USE Plasma, but they are not made out of Plasma. Therefore, they are not Plasma TVs, they're just TVs that use Plasma.

And, BOT. Now.

So what do people think of the new 'BRAIN ATTACK' wave? Personally I think it's pretty decent so far. Most of the heroes look pretty good except Bulk, who broke his streak of being a good set. The villains are kinda half-half. Pyrox and Ogrum look decent enough, but when it gets to Scarox and Bruizer... particularly Bruizer, they don't really seem too good. Especially Bruizer's weird arm. What were they thinking when they designed that? Unless it's a vehicle, HF parts and technic don't really mix IMO.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 12, 2013, 08:55:52 pm
Bulk has a Nex kinda feel to him with all that Trans Orange. 0_o The heroes look cool with their visored helmets, though. Do the visors come off, by any chance?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 12, 2013, 09:02:33 pm
Yeah. The helmets and visors are separate pieces.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: mtmerrick on January 12, 2013, 09:42:21 pm
I personally don't like the visors at all.  I think they look loads better without them.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 13, 2013, 08:10:45 am
Each to his own, I guess. They look better in person. They don't really look too out of place IMO. If anything, I think they add to the helmets as I can tell the helmets were designed to be used with the visors, causing a few certain sets to look weirder without the visors.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 13, 2013, 09:43:33 am
Excellent... Now I just have to remember what Surge's helmet looks like; and if he's even in Brain Attack. xD

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 13, 2013, 09:57:33 am
Brain Attack's a full-year theme like Breakout was. Evidence of this can be seen in the Brain Attack vid on the HF site, which shows an unknown white villain and we see a Brain Attack version of Stormer, as well as the core of a yellow hero who I presume to be Evo, and the back of a blue hero with wings who I presume to be Surge.

So here's the sets we know so far:

Winter 2013:

Heroes:
Rocka
Bulk
Breez
Furno XL

Villains:
Pyrox
Ogrum
Scarox
Bruizer

Summer 2013:

Heroes:
Stormer
Surge(?)
Evo(?)

Villains:
Unknown White Villain

Since that hero line-up for summer seems a bit small for the summer, I'm guessing Nex and Stringer will also be sets., and I would assume that we're also getting another flying villain, since I assume the white villain is paired up with Stormer.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 13, 2013, 10:17:33 am
Ah, I see. *Nods* I wonder why they lessened the amount of heroes per wave, though?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 13, 2013, 10:32:12 am
I don't think they did. Breakout's first wave had 5, the second had 4, totalling to all 9 currently known heroes. This year it's probably going to be 4 heroes first wave, 5 heroes second wave. They should probably introduce another hero so they can even out the waves.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 13, 2013, 12:10:29 pm
Hmm, true... I was talking more about the first three waves.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 13, 2013, 01:59:11 pm
In the first wave, LEGO was still shifting from BIONICLE to HF.

In the second and third wave, LEGO had created an entirely new building system with the shells and bones. We also generally got an average of a few titan sets, 3 medium-sized villains and six heroes. Now, it's shifted so that the heroes and villains are of various sizes, which, for marketing reasons AFAIK, allows them to sell a wider mix to the target audiences.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 13, 2013, 03:11:26 pm
Hmm, that's true.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Trijhak on January 21, 2014, 06:14:00 pm
Now they've moved on to making mechs for minifig sized heroes fighting against 'giant' beasts.

A bit disappointing the beasts all use the same head with different printings, but oh well. They also continue to completely forget two heroes exist.

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory
Post by: Blade on January 21, 2014, 06:50:53 pm
Stringer and Bulk, I'm guessing?

Title: Re: LEGO HERO Factory

Stringer and Nex, actually. Bulk appeared first wave last year and will appear summer this year. Stringer and Nex have not made an appearance since 2012, and they're not in the summer wave as evidenced by the mini movie they put up. (which is quite bad.)

The new Winter sets are cool, and a new take on HF, and although the villains have the same heads, they are unique enough. The summer sets are not as exciting to me, as the building system is slowly reaching a point where creating unique villains is getting difficult, with the use of the same bone and shell pieces. The combinations that are possible with this structure seem endless, but very bare bones and lacking in bulk and fleshed out characters.
