You should really download GIMP. It's pretty easy to make stuff transparent in it.

I missed a spot or two I guess, but I can't be bothered to go edit and upload again...
It's simple, you open it, use the color select tool and adjust the threshold until you select all the parts you want transparent, go to layers-transparency-add alpha channel and just delete everything you selected. Then save as a GIF and upload.

Yep. It's a different branch of the service, though; the SMF 2.0 servers, to be precise. Basically, everyone who hasn't migrated with a brand new forum just wants to stay on 1.2 forever, despite 2.0 being massively superior. Except for Quick Reply; I don't understand how they got things SO RIGHT for 1.2, and then forgot everything for 2.0.
