any idea? been getting this every few minutes. even after several reboots, ccleaner runs, registry cleans, ect. Undecided gonna run a virus scan next....

What version of the .Net Framework do you have?
What registry cleaner do you use?
When did this start?

EDIT: Also, check the Event Log. Look at every Warning and Error that's happened recently, and post any that you think might be related to the error.

 Grin found a microsoft support utility that fixed this. should'a googled more before posting. somehow using it to remove Logitech Setpoint from startup (a program i've had for years, measures my mouse's battery) made the issue go away. weird, but w/e.

2: CCleaner's built in Registry cleaner is horrible. it misses most errors and has a ton of false positives. Use Glary Utilities for registry cleaning.
4: No. Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools (Located in System & Maintenance) -> Event Viewer.

Also, if you use CCleaner, try downloading CCEnhancer. http://singularlabs.com/software/ccenhancer/download/

i removed it from my computer, uninstalled, registry cleaned, and a search of my HDD for files with the program name (or developer name) came up with zero results. Undecided out of ideas here.
