What's your favorite movie? Or, just talk about movies you've seen recently and whether they were good or not.

I just saw Titanic the other day (for the first time!) and was quite bored throughout, mainly due to the cliche story.

I don't really have a favorite movie... But if I had to choose, it'd probably be the Matrix. I just enjoy that kind of movie.

MsRR: I haven't seen either of those...

Rak: Yeah, the Matrix was pretty awesome all around. What do you like about it? The sci-fi, or the slow-mo or the story or what?

The Matrix is an awesome movie, can't believe I haven't seem the second and third one yet. I thought the Titanic was good, but like you said it did have a pretty cliche story.

This is kinda stretching it a bit, but any Monty Python fans?

Matrix is just awesome; the scenes, the idea, the use of slow motion... Even I, who find slow motion extremely cheesy, considered it awesome in the Matrix.

The sequels are OK, but I'd only characterize them as fun to watch, not awesome.

MsRR: Do you think I have time to watch them? I'm applying for college right now. =P I'll see if I can find time though.

Wantija: Don't watch Matrix 2/3, they sucked (in comparison to the first, anyway). And I am a huge Monty Python fan. My teacher used the example of a 16 ton weight dropping on a man carrying a fruit once and I was the only one who knew the reference.

Rak: Slow motion only works when it's used when its dramatic effect is greater than having it normal speed, and only when the sounds fit the slowed motion as well. That's why the Matrix got it right. Have you ever seen I, Robot? I thought it was a bit similar to the Matrix. And Inception was also, I suppose.

Inception questions reality kind of like Matrix does, and I think it's a superior movie, but perhaps that's just me being a Christopher Nolan fanboy.

I don't really compare movies that much, makes each new movie more fun.

I'll go watch Inception sometime then.

I thought I was the only one who hadn't seen inception yet, good to know I'm not (I'll see it soon though).

Anyone seen Shutter Island? Great psychological thriller.

Go watch Inception, both of you.
I haven't seen Shutter Island yet, though I've heard good things about it. I enjoy psychological thrillers quite a bit.
Is anyone else excited for the Life of Pi film adaptation?
