https://na.chimaonline.com/Chima open beta has launched, as well as a more clear idea of the game model. It will be free to play with many opportunities for you to make in game purchases and microtransactions. None of the microtransactions appear to be game crippling at this point, though they will give you a decided advantage and speed up your production times. There is a combination of gold bricks, which are the currency in the game, and various durations of membership that you can purchase which give different perks. Unlike LU, the FTP will not be merely a glorified demo by the looks and you will be able to advance very far in the game. The buildings have different levels attached to them and they go up to level 5 which is available only to paid members, I don’t know if that will prevent any game experience though. From the looks of it you will get some very cool gear, lots of gold bricks and other fun perks like that, but no zone limitations. Please correct me if you find this to be wrong.

Hmm... This sounds like it might be interesting. Any word on the computer specs? And is anyone planning on getting into this? Might give it a shot in the future, if only to make up for totally missing out on LU. xP

It loads in a tab, and doesn't seem to need much. I was able to begin the game with three tabs open, but didn't stay long due to exhaustion.

I am Colonel ActionFanatic in the game.
Firefox has issues running the game...just slow. Internet Explorer seems to run better.
I am level 6 and it takes a long time to get there. It is more of a grind-fest game rather than a building game.
I've already found and reported over 15 bugs...and this is Open Beta <sigh>.
