Thanksgiving is my favorite of all holidays, because it is, in my home, a celebration of love.
This time of year more than any other we turn our thoughts to the things we are grateful for.
Good lives, our homes, our loved ones, Peace when we have it, health, the absence of hunger, and our friends.
I try to thank God on a daily basis for my blessings, and thank others for their kindness whenever possible, but this is a special time. It is for us a giving of love through cooking. One of the family traditions I started 35 years ago was making a second meal, and bringing it to a family in need. Some years it is tough to do financially, but the cooking is fun, and so is the delivering.
I would like to thank all of you here who have made my life a little richer just by being in it. Thank you for your kindnesses, your notes, the thoughtful and insightful posts you have written, and the fun we have had.
I hope each of you is blessed with such a richness.
"All I can do is leave a trace. I can leave it on a piece of paper, or on the ground, but the best place to leave it is in the heart and memory of someone else." Elie Wiesel
