The way it is: few lectures of each class (plenty of office hours), plenty of homework.

Its core subjects, like history, philosophy, psychology, composition, etc. Classes that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Really, they're just filler to get to the 120 hours needed for graduation. Having those courses in a week long session is a great idea, I think.

Heh, I know several people who are "done early" with most of their degree, so they just take fun easy classes (I doubt I'll get that chance) to fill her up.

We used to have to have no more than one fluff class a semester...

Well, yes, if you're just taking the class to get it over with, you may as well do it in a week. But if you actually want to learn something, a week class sounds silly.
And don't brush off philosophy, it's my favorite class  Grin

I don't see anything wrong with finishing early (as I'm doing 2 degrees in 3 years), but not learning anything during that time is awful. Both of my degrees are very technical, so the classes aren't blow-off classes like some of the more... Liberal-arts degrees.

I can see that. It just depends on what you want to do, really.
But liberal arts aren't all blow-offs, either.

Well I've done no partying, lame-o me. I guess it's good to focus on academics, but there's more to college than school. It's a "new chapter" of your life. There's more to life than being buried in homework and such.

I'm not even taking college courses at all yet. =P

also, I don't even think the guy I'm facing in Sonic Generations is even trying anymore; I just effectively pulled the equivalent of Sonic racing someone who CAN'T run at the speed of sound. Aka, they didn't even leave the starting line.

I think it really depends. Liberal arts is where you don't focus too heavily on just one subject. Film, as an art, is usually liberal art, but if you want to specifically focus on screenwriting and nothing else I don't think it counts as a liberal arts degree anymore.

I could be wrong...

Mathematics, science, arts, and language can all be considered part of the liberal arts. Some subsections of the liberal arts are trivium—the verbal arts: logic, grammar, and rhetoric; and quadrivium—the numerical arts: arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy. Analyzing and interpreting information is also studied.

Academic areas that can be associated with the term liberal arts include:

    Art
    Great Books
    History
    Languages
    Linguistics
    Literature
    Mathematics
    Music
    Philosophy
    Political science
    Psychology
    Religious studies
    Science
    Sociology
    Social Science
    Theater
