PS3, Sony's Play Station 3

Just bought it today, very cool and almost hooked up and online as well, btw, I'm legodac on PS3.

If you Brickers have any advice or comments on this console, I'd live to hear them.

And advice? Since you got this instead of something else, go do yourself a favour and get Megaman 9, and then when it comes out in March, go get Megaman 10.

... Yes, you play it... And it's a game you can download on the PS3, Wii, and XBox360.

You download it. Aside from that, you don't need the internet...

I own a PS3, but I don't have a PSN yet. Not really the online gamer type. Although I wish all types could play PS2 games, since the PS2 can play PSone games.

I'm 3/4 the way thru God of War I. I'm trying to climb my way out of you know where. I never thought for a moment that anything could beat Nintendo's Zelda. God of War is a cool game, the challenges and graphics are beyond cool.

Just check with Mommy and Daddy before you play, it may be nightmarrish.

You see legodac, you have two options-

Stick to the high-quality games of Nintendo, such as Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Kirby, Star Fox, Pikmin, Pokemon, Punch-Out!!, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Kid Icarus, Pilotwings, Golden Sun, F-Zero the list goes on. Or, you can go with the approximately 1 bazillion adrenilane-based PS3 Games. Your choice.

Sorry...I've just been playing through a lot of Nintendo games lately, and the concept of anything superior to Nintendo does not compute. =P

I will admit, PS3 has some good  games, but I honestly think the Wii and XBox 360 can do more for less money. But hey, it's your life, not mine. =P

GOW is rated Mature, so few of our members have probably ever played it.

Playstation's cool and all, but when Sony starts taking good series(I'm look at you, Megaman X), and then puts it's price to the 600 range(Even if it's only temporary, since everything drops), that's when I start disliking it. It's too expensive, and tries too hard to be a multiple entertainment unit. I want the focus on games for my gaming system... Sure throwing in a DVD player or something is cool; but when it starts focusing on other entertainment on a game console, that's when there starts to be problems. lack on backwards compatibility also hurts it.

I don't think you've tried XBox 360. =P As much as I hate non-Nintendo Consoles, XBox 360 can do way more than PS3 for 100 dollars less.

God of War..hm...have I played it? No. Because the last time I played a Playstation, it was a PS2, I was 5 years old, and the game was Frogger. I love Frogger, but I remember another game from the PS2. You were on an island. If you try to leave to island, a large fish comes out of no where. And eats you. On screen. That's pretty much why I only play Nintendo. =P

And I have 3 words for anyone who thinks PS3 shooters do better than Wii Shooters.

Metroid. Prime. Trilogy. Oh, and the Conduit as well.

You haven't played MW2 on PS3 or Halo on 360 if you think the wii is better.

Uh, guys, I;d reccomend you take it to the debate board if you're going to argue which console is better.

And if you're going to argue which company has better games, then you haven't played the PS1 Spyro the Dragon Games or the PS2/3 Ratchet and Clank games. First is a platformer, the second is a Shooter-Platformer. (and both of those are developed by Insomniac Games. Insomniac Games has gotten various awards... the third R&C game is one of highest-rated games on the PS2. Or the Sixth and Ninth R&C games which are some of the freshest games on the PS3.) Oh yeah and fawful the Ps3 can do what the 360 can do. PSN/Home is also free but 360's Live as I've heard is not. They're both good, but I find the PS3 has more functions than the 360. Although you'll probably reject because you'll probably bas the PS3's Sixaxis as a copy of the wii's motion control. Of all current gen consoles, the Wii is for fun, the PS3 is for online and the 360 is for challenge as I've found.

Ok, I give Halo props. It's a good action game. But Metroid ia waaaay better for all ages. I know there's plenty of people who play Halo that aren't even 13. Heck, Ab-Z said once that his little sister loved Halo or something.

But that's just a few games. MW2 + Halo + Sports Games< Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Metroid, Star Fox, Pikmin, NBA Jam (yep, it's coming back to Wii only), and, hm....what am I forgetting? Oh yeah, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

But anyway...this is the topic for legodac's PS3. What games do you have besides GoW, legodac?

EDIT: Yeah, I'm going to open a new PS3, XBox 360 or Wii? debate.

KZ: As much as I love the two series you mentioned, KZ, there's still the fact that the Wii's better for the family because people of all ages can play the games, it gets you up more, since it's not just a wireless version of a previous controller(I'm looking at you, Sony), and some of it's Wi-Fi games are awesome(Say, Fawful, does any of the Wii Metroid games have Wi-Fi like MPH?). Oh, and it's cheaper. And focuses on games. Just saying.

I wouldn't mind a PS3, since Playstation's one of my two latest home consoles. But it's too darn expensive. And I don't have the PS2 yet.

@Blade-not sure about the wi-fi. =/ Haven't tried to get on yet. Pretty sure that MP3 has it, but...

Oh, and if you want the MPTrilogy, you need to get it now. Nintendo stopped shipping them.

But yeah,  I really don't feel the need for graphics that the PS3 provide. I think Mario has established that they aren't essential.
