Today, there was a really big earthquake in Taiwan, along with several small ones. We all got frightened!
When I got home there was the little fake pineapple, tiny Santa Claus, empty Bionicle boxes, an empty shoe box, 3 batteries, and A lot fo boxes on the floor.

So glad you are OK.
It is odd how many earthquakes are happening right now... Does anyone else besides me see a strange coincidence and possible connection between recent conflicts about Nuclear testing, and current geological events??

Well last May: 25 May 2009 – Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon strongly deplored the conduct of an underground nuclear test by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday, in “clear and grave” violation of resolutions of the Security Council which also spoke out against the act.
“The Secretary-General is deeply concerned that this act will negatively affect regional peace and stability as well as the global nuclear non-proliferation regime."
At this time there were also arguments that underground tests without the proper safeguards would be geologically unsafe...

Impossible, no, I can't think this... I can't think Cascadia, It can't not now, not here, the Pacific Plate, can't force Cascadia Oceanic to the North American Granite Plate, A subduction zone... quiet for over 300 years.. of it's history that made a tsunami from Northern America to Japan, calculated by Japenese records over 9.0 magnitude. The history of the sedimentary rock show the history of Cascadia... and now.. time is running out since 300 year sormancy is gone.

Our local news last night showed exactly how it could happen here in Oregon. I was reminded of several years ago, maybe as many as 15, when I was visiting friends in Mexico, and they showed an earthquake here in Oregon on CNN.. and the broadcast showed a market near my home, right down the street actually, with all the shelves in the aisles collapsed and the food all over the place..
What a relief to come home and find my hillside house with the den on stilts intact, except for a few items that fell and one plant that dropped from the ceiling...

There have been patterns like this before, I doubt that megathrust earthquakes would reactivate Cascadia if it wasn't the time. Tho it might be good if it released preassure now instead of exploded 300 years from now with ten times the force.

One of the really "Big Ones" to shake the United States was a magnitude-9.0 earthquake along the Pacific Northwest coast more than 300 years ago, before the arrival of huge numbers of people and development, that sent a catastrophic tsunami to Japan. It's not a matter of if, only of when an event like this strikes the people of the PNW again.
The spate of "recent" earthquakes, starting with the magnitude-9.3 Indian Ocean event in 2004, follows a 50-year cycle of earthquake activity...The last cycle, in the 1960s, produced the two other record holders for recorded earthquakes — the magnitude-9.5 quake near Valdivia and a magnitude-9.2 quake in Alaska's Prince William Sound. We know earthquakes are not uniformly distributed in time; they cluster, and suddenly the earthquakes are lighting up again.
I just hope it doesn't hit while I am at this chair, in a room half on stilts at the top of a hill over the river......

Our earthquake only had a magnitude of 6.4 or 6.3.

My discord is wwolf94 if you'd like to find me there. I like how Saturn posted that like 30 seconds later. Therefore he prepared that image beforehand. My conclusion: he's a man with a plan. A schemer.
