We have much to celebrate!
I received this today, and wanted to share it.

This year, Holy Thursday falls on April 1.
Maundy Thursday is observed during Holy Week on the Thursday before Easter. Also referred to as "Holy Thursday" or "Great Thursday" in some Christian denominations, Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper when Jesus shared the Passover  meal with his disciples on the night before he was crucified. In contrast to joyful Easter celebrations when Christians worship their resurrected Savior, Maundy Thursday services are typically more solemn occasions, marked by the shadow of Jesus' betrayal.

Good Friday is observed on the Friday before Easter  Sunday. On this day Christians commemorate the passion, or suffering, and death on the cross of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Many Christians spend this day in fasting, prayer, repentance, and meditation on the agony and suffering of Christ on the cross. (For a more detailed explanation about Christ's death, see Why Did Jesus Have to Die?)

The biblical account of Jesus' death on the cross, or crucifixion, his burial and his resurrection, or raising from the dead, can be found in the following passages of Scripture: Matthew 27:27-28:8; Mark 15:16-16:19; Luke 23:26-24:35; and John 19:16-20:30.

On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christian churches.

Christians believe according to Scripture, that Jesus came back to life, or was raised from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion, is commemorated on Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter. Through his death, burial and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus.

Many, perhaps most, Pagan religions in the Mediterranean area had a major seasonal day of religious celebration at or following the Spring Equinox. The bunny was the sidekick of Eostre, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring, whose festival was held at the vernal equinox.
Ostara is also called Eostre and much of our Easter traditions are based on those of this Pagan Fire Festival. When the early Christians set out to convert the Pagans, they discovered conversion was easier if they adopted Pagan customs and traditions. Easter is tied into Ostara because it is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal or spring equinox.

Rabbits are symbols of fertility. rabbit also signifies intuition, rebirth, promise, fulfillment, and balance. It is the Goddess’ creature and represents the Moon, night and dawn. It is also associated with abundance, rebirth and release.

Eggs symbolize fertility. In the mid 1900s, children would get rabbits and chicks as gifts for Easter. The rooster, in Celtic tradition, has connections to the Underworld. The bird drove off the evil night spirits and ghosts by crowing at dawn.

Interesting... Thanks for explaining.
"Rabbits are symbols of fertility."
That figures. You know the phrase "breeding like rabbits"? Used to have rabbits, so I know. Lol.

Happy Easter, Everyone.  Sunrise services at the water's edge were lovely, and then my son & 2Mak07 made brunch.  Soon it will be my turn to start cooking... I hope you are all having a joyous day.
