I got to rambling in another topic when it ocurred to me we could use a few maids. They wouldn't have mod powers but would be recognized with a symbol, not unlike a trophy on their profile page. this would be their reward for notifieng a mod when a topic becomes redundent, non-productive, slanderess, boring, etc...

This forum is growing, time for a new kind a maid...

What do you brickers think?

COOL, say the mods, less work for us...

Just trying to help eh... Wink

I think it would be a great idea! The only problem, though, is that some people may just report dumb, pointless stuff, just to get a badge thing. You know?

Most concerned good citizens already PM us mods or use the report button if we miss something.

BTW the "spam button" does not seem to be functional.

It sends it to the host. -_- Use Report to Mod, unless it's something horrible and the person should be banned everywhere because of it.

I imagine new people coming to the forum expecting to see discussion about LEGO, only to see RPGs full of deranged characters and insane people talking about cheese and brains.

You are both right of course, but you missed my point, incentive is a powerfull motivater and time, or lack of it, makes us all procrastinate

Doing the right thing should be incentive enough. It's the same principle with rep points... you get them for doing the right thing without LOOKING for a reward.

My friend, you know me better than that, you are right of course, as am I.

Remember we speak of of folks of all ages, languages, all over the world.

When I suggested that we award rep for Lego modelling, it got the same responce, yet we have it now, and why is that?

Because we're all different and think differently aswell.

#1 in my eyes here at MLNO is to create topics that generate more activity, this you you must agree with for you do the same.

The difference between our choices is that we sometimes assume people know exactly what we are talking about, and no matter how well we explain ourselves, there will always be one or two that don't agree or don't understand what we are saying.

The only difference between you and I is that we are different.

The maid is a suggestion I have to get others involved in the forum on a lighter scale then the mods. Also when you give someone a title, they feel more involved, which gives purpose and drive and added incentive, you are right MsRR, as am I.

It worked for me. Oops, you just reported, lol, sorry!

I agree with SDK... We already do that, and we don't need any more puffed-up roosters walking around reporting left and right because they have a fancy title (although I'd rather be a Butler, thank-you very much).

Wow, I've never been called that before, but I like it, this Rooster says to the little chicken...

Doing the right thing will always be enough for a good person to step up and say, "hey, I see something wrong"

Giving someone a job with that purpose in mind will always make them do it better.

Our world wide economy is based on this principle.

If you are paid to do something, you will always do it better then if you weren't paid.

In most cases, understand, I do speak generally, as per the average.
