"It's hard to say why we get hung up on one person or the other.. something just clicks, a spark ignites, it's all a mystery, or alchemy....." *trails off into thought*

"Med bay??"  She sits up suddenly, causing her teacup to shoot from her lap and shatter on the floor. "Oh..."  She bends down to clean it up.  "Replicator, a towel, please."  The device does not respond.  Shrugging, she picks up some of the old drapery material and uses it to mop up the mess.  "Well I, for one, would like a...reverse catalyst, for lack of a better term.  Men are just not worth the trouble it takes to train them, and if you happen to get stuck on one...OW!"  A single drop of blood wells up from where the broken glass had cut her.  She wraps her hand and picks up the pieces more carefully.  "...you're apt to get hurt," she finishes.  She glances at the chronometer, then at her computer console.  Something like resolution appears on her face, and in her spirit.  "You should go.  I...I have some planning to do."

As Etain rises and heads for the door, Jennifer stops her.  "Wait!"  She hesitates.  "Don't tell Counsellor Riker about this, that I was this upset, OK?  The last thing I need is for the captain to get word of this and keep me off duty."

IC: Etain

"Of course I won't tell anyone" She turns to leave again and thinks better of it.
"Let me help you clean up this mess" She begins tossing old drapery and bits of glass into the disposal unit.
"You know, it may not seem like they are worth it, but if you don't try to change them , they can be OK. All men have serious flaws.. its just a matter of finding one whose flaws you can live with."

"Maybe...but this one's not.  Not now, anyway.  And if I'm going to spend the next three to five years working with him, I need to set the ground rules now."

"Thanks for the help, Etain.  You've been a great friend.  Come see me again when I get out, it's nice to have someone to talk to who doesn't have to talk to you.  Counsellor Riker seems nice enough, but...I don't know.  I'm just not as comfortable talking to her as I am to you.  Thanks again!"

OOC: OK, give me a minute and I'll set up for Kaze and Pavlov's release, and the training stuff.

"Any time!" Heads off to her own quarters for some much needed rest.

*Hears Elaine, and walks over to her and Valk.* Someone called? "Looks
both of them up and down. Catches sight of Valk's bolter rifle.* I've
never seen a gun like that before, mind if I have a look?

Sure. *Hands Tyson the bolter rifle*
Yaka Industries bolter rifle, Mk. II. It's experimental, and they one issued about half a dozen per regiment. It doesn't overheat like plasma and laser guns, and it's projectiles penetrate armor as well, if not better.

*Tyson raises an eyebrow* Yaka Industries? Haven't heard of it before. *Takes gun and starts looking it over, all over.* So what's a bolter rifle that makes it so much better than plasma?

OOC: Yes, IC and OOC use is a rule for this RPG.  Sorry, Red, I've gotten lax on my GM duties there...
Also, content in progress, for now please continue to roleplay.  Blade, Kaze will be able to get out of sickbay as soon as I finalize the features of his Class.  For now, Elaine is still in the Armory corridor with Valk and Tyson.

Elaine stood there as the two talked about guns, not quite sure how to respond right at that moment. So, she basically just stood there, awkwardly not saying much.

OOC: Assuming tactical, since he seems to have made that choice by sticking with Pavlov for so long.   Of course, it's entirely up to you; the six classes (a.k.a. "Divisions") are: Command, Tactical, Engineering, Medical, Science, and Flight.  Etain's likely Medical, since that multi-classes to Counseling later on (though to be fair, I don't expect to put her in combat, like, at ALL), Kojan (a LZP character who hasn't shown up here) is Command (especially since, within the PCG, Kojan was a Council Member for a while), and pretty much everyone else seems to be going Tactical. 

---IC: Valk---

The bolter bullets are basically miniature rockets, with four small thrusters in the back of the bullet that fire off in a way that makes the bullet spin. The bullet is tipped with titanium, the same stuff used for the hulls of most ships. Behind the tip is a chamber of explosives. Behind that is the rocket fuel.

Basically, a squad of marines all armed with bolters can take out a light vehicle within a few minutes. Don't even ask about what it does to infantry.

Anyways, Yaka is a Terran company, and has only gotten big in the last few years after they won a contract with the navy..

OOC: Yeah, Tactical looks right, if that's the more combatish one; Kaze's more or less built for that. But interactions are still awesome, too. =P

Hmmm....interesting. I wonder that I didn't hear of them if they got a contract with the Navy....*looks at Elaine and Valk again* Oh I'm sorry, did I interrupt anything?

Yeah, I was looking for Lt. Commander Pavlov. Elaine and I were heading heading to the medical bays..

IC: Tyson:
*raises eyebrow*
Offering sympathy's to his encounter?

OOC: For clarification: Pavlov was injured whilst in engineering. (thus, his encounter), and offering sympathy's is bascially the same thing as going to offer sympathy. So rephrased it would be something like: You're going to offer your sympathy to his accident? Hope that helps.

OOC: Ah. This makes a lot more sense.

---IC: Valk---

...yeah...something like that... You could come along, if you want... We might need backup.

IC: Tyson:
Backup?

---IC: Valk---

We may need... just, come on.

Sure. *Follows Valk and Elaine* So what are we really doing? You don't need backup to offer sympathy.

OOC: Sorry that took so long, I've been falling down on the job.

OOC: To the others; he wasn't 'injured', he and Kaze were nearly drowned. =P

Elaine simply followed without comments; but wondered why Valk was being so cautious; especially since she noticed he was trying to dodge that one question about backup.
