The red is more visible, but the silver/black is more metalic.

I personally would go with red...

As would I, for the sake of visibility.

Here's my new background:

[The original text was personal, so I changed it to "Distort."  The original is a bit better I think.  It's also 1680x1050.]

Thank you!

BTW I'm not sure if what I said was confusing - "Distort" was the text with which I replaced the original text (you can sorta make it out under the rose), but I did use a distort filter on it - polar coordinates, one in each direction.  Plus a couple other filters to give it that effect.

Also, for the sake of interest, HERE is the original rose pic.

I would:
a - spherize the planet
b - make the glow less
c - shade the corner of the planet
d - add a lens flare where the shading isn't

It makes it look a bit more realistic, like this:

(the texture of that planet was marble/granite, so it won't look as realistic as that.

I agree. That's something good, Hunter. Is space a favorite theme of yours?

Excellent, those would make sweet graphics for a game!
It's probably just me but I'm getting an optical illusion that the planet's actually rotating... O_o

Really? O_o

Now THAT is totally awesome...

Thanks.  Smiley

Well, I have been watching this show with a lot of space travel and stuff, so I decided to give it a try.

Ownage, I might say...
