"seriously Dan, lay down" alexa said "you got some pretty bad wounds to your legs, if you enjoy walking, stay down."

Alexa got up and tapped the shoulder of one of the nearest soldiers. "You gonna go anything about this? you got a man down over here." She then realized the man was the General and she gulped.

Daniel sat down, and shouted.

"CARTER, GET OVER HERE. I'M IN NEED OF MEDICAL ASSISTANCE."

Alexa got up and tapped the shoulder of one of the nearest soldiers. "You gonna go anything about this? you got a man down over here." She then realized the man was the General and she gulped.

General Carter looked up at the girl.  Wait, who is she?  Do I know her?  Why is she staring at me like that?  The hair on the back of his neck starts to stand up, but he's too amped up on adrenaline to notice.

IC:

Daniel sat down, and shouted.

"CARTER, GET OVER HERE. I'M IN NEED OF MEDICAL ASSISTANCE."

Carter suddenly realizes that he'd completely locked out the world again while he waited for an opening at the robot.  I HAVE to stop doing that...been getting worse, last couple years...  He signals for three of the men to get med kits while the rest form a perimiter around the area.  "Sorry about that, kid, happens sometimes.  I freeze up, go blank, operate on basic reflexes.  Be glad you didn't run across my line of sight, though with that thing shooting at us both, I doubt you would have."  He looks up and sees the others.  "Sorry, I don't believe we've been introduced.  I'm--"  He cuts off as he realizes something.  "OI!  Major, you and Strathern get in there and find that robot.  If it's alive, track it, if not, bring it with us, Lord Regulus will want to know about it."  He returns his attention to Alexis and the others.  "General George N. Carter, U.K. Royal Marines.  I'm on special assignment from Lord Regulus himself, escorting Mr. Smith here to find Mr. Francisco.  He went inside and got attacked by...something.  Large, insectoid, lots of legs.  Like a giant centipede, almost, but different.  Details get a bit fuzzy like that, 'v always had memory problems.  Anyway, soon as the operation went south, I'm under orders to enact protocol C-85-Cairo-Omega, which means all of you need to come with me for debriefing."  Rounding on the soldiers who had been assigned to the containment unit, he barked, "Lieutenant, was the creature alive when it broke out of there, or did that robot make off with the body?"

Tyler sees...something moving through the darkness.  Roughly humanoid in shape, but somehow...stringy.  Regulus doesn't appear to have noticed.

"Alright then." Omega said with a smile, as he nodded, and looked over at Alexa with a look like 'if we don't seem like we have something to hide, things will go a lot smoother'.

Illia tapped Alexa on the shoulder. "Now what?"

A Symboyant slowly walked through the shadows, its last host killed by a zap from a former bug exterminator. Now it was on a mission many other symboyants shared: to find a host. It had not yet set its four eyes on anyone in particular yet, but it needed a host if it was going to survive. It had decided someone in something akin to the military would be a suitable host, and the nearest military personnel it knew of were in broad daylight. It was practically suicide for the Symboyant to attempt to gain a host, but that would not stop it. But soon, it would have to gain a host; and given what this Symboyant wants, it would probably have to attempt the equivalent of suicide.

"i guess we go with them" She answered. "grab the stuff, as much as we can take. there's a good chance whatever we don't take will get left behind" she seethed.

Illia grabbed her laptop and hugged it close to herself.

"Right." Omega said with a nod. He walked over to the car, and grabbed whatever he could find. He himself was intrigued by this 'General Carter', and if there was a greater chance of them not getting found out by going with them...
