Tomas Wright... Who are you...? Ryan wondered with a frown, as he shook his head.
"Given the time disparity, it would appear that we've been held captive for the last while..." Ryan said, and began to explain what he knew, still inwardly wary of things, as something just didn't seem right; it just seemed almost too coincidental and perfect...
I just can't give up here. I need to find this Tomas guy, and find out what's going on, and then head back and figure out what happened at the Asylum.

"Jesus." The officer muttered. He turned to one of his fellow officers. "Call back home, have a squad - no, two squads - go check that place out. As for us, let's get these kids to shore, someplace warm, and try and call their folks." He turned back to the escaped patients. "Now, can any of you remember the names of any of the missing people? Or the patients and doctors that are still there? I need spelling too, if possible."

Ryan recalled at least the first names of the ones that went missing, and the ones that were told about, though let Johnathan explain about Sally; he also explained about the Doctors, including the now-missing Robyn.
"I'm sketchy on some of the spellings of the names, but I recall some of what they looked like." Ryan said, as he explained that.

"Jessica Robyn..." He typed it into his computer. "Worked at a different asylum for a few years, then vanished..." He kept typing. "William Lane...is coming up blank. And Kefka Kavoro...Hm. According to this, he's a doctor of Geology. No medical training whatsoever."

"That seems odd..." Ryan said with a frown, and then explained how Robyn vanished recently.

"I see..and it looks like those other patients were reported missing in the past year...Jesus, what is Kavoro up to?"

"I'm not sure... But I doubt it's anything good..." Ryan said with a frown.
"I would like to help out with this investigation, if possible." Ryan said, surprising even himself, not knowing where this request came from.
"... First, though, I would like to meet this Tomas Wright... Or even call him."

"Hm..his number is listed here, but let's wait until we're on dry land."

~~~~~Back at the Coast Guard building~~~~~
Misoru took a sip of hot chocolate and bit into an oatmeal raisin cookie.
Mira stared at the ceiling, and John gazed blankly out the window at the rain.

One of the officers approached them. "Alright, Ryan. Got Tomas on the phone right now." He handed Ryan the phone. "Miss Misoru, we couldn't reach your parents, but we managed to get in touch with your grandmother." He turned to Mira and John. "We're in the process of contacting your families right now."

OOC: There will be a one-month timeskip soon.

"Alright." Ryan said with a nod of thanks, as he accepted the phone.
"Aaaah, who is this? All the people told me was that they were the coast guard, and that someone wanted to talk to me..." The voice on the other end said, and then paused for a minute.
"No, Sally, I don't know who's trying to call us now. It seems like it's every time you get a chance to actually visit, something happens..." The voice seemed to complain, and Ryan slightly chuckled. At that, the voice paused.
"... Ryan?" The voice asked, as Ryan looked surprised.
"Are you Tomas Wright? So you do know me after all?" Ryan asked, and the voice paused for a moment.
"So the rumours were true, about the Asylum... Yeah; I'm Tomas." The other caller said, and Tomas sighed, and began to explain about how they were related, and how he had requested help on the investigation.
"So, wait, I just agreed?" Ryan asked, wondering why he would do that.
"Because you're a detective; I'm sure even that hasn't been lost to you... I wish I hadn't just dismissed the rumours that there was something odd there, and that there were a bunch of people who had just gone missing, yet not returned..." Tomas said, and explained how he had looked into it a bit, but despite not seeing any connections, but had not heard anything about memories.
"If I had've known they were messing with memories, I would've never sent the request, and might've gone myself..." Tomas said, and behind the receiver, Ryan shrugged.
"Hey, no worries. Things are coming back, at least. Say hi to Sally for me, and sorry if I interrupted your date." Ryan said with a smirk, and Tomas stuttered.
"I-it's not like that!" Tomas said, and Ryan rolled his eyes.
"Suuuure... Well, enjoy your time with your girlfriend, Tommy." Ryan said, hanging up before Tomas could realize that Ryan was recalling more now than he let on.

"Well... That was unexpected." Tomas said as he hung up, as he looked back toward Sally Finch with a smile.

The officer woke Ryan from a lovely dream about ninja ballerinas fighting a pineapple. "Good news. We stormed the place. The dangerous patients got sent to an ACTUAL sanitarium, Doctor Kavoro is in prison - no sign of Doctor Lane - and the other patients are all here. We're working to get in touch with their families right now. Thought you'd want to know.

Ryan seemed surprised, but nodded.
"Thanks." Ryan said; though it seemed almost too easy somehow; however, he quickly fell asleep again once the officer left.

The voice was shrill and echoed around the misty grey room. Snow fell around him as his body slowly turned to ice.

Steven's corpse rose from the ground, slowly advancing towards the asylum...
"TRAFFIC IS BACKED UP ON THE INTERSTATE. LOOKS PRETTY BAD! GLAD I'M IN THIS HELICOPTER, HAHA."
The alarm clock startled Ryan out of bed. Sally Finch peered through the door. "I warned you, Tomas sets his alarms loud."

"Guess I should've known that." Ryan said, as he stretched, not used to being in the guest room bed still, even after a month away from the Asylum.
"... Wait, when did you get back here?" Ryan raised an eyebrow, trying to hold back a smile as he seemed to have another reason to tease Tomas now.
