“Disappearing?” “Yes. A hiker found a cave with three skeletons in it. He reported it to this museum, but when we got there they were gone! All three of them. Instances like that have happened all over this part of the country.” “Strange… could they have been stolen?” “But who would do something like that? They are useless except to exhibit.” Derek had his own opinions on that, but he kept silent. They can also be used for scaring the living daylights out of people, he thought. The three men decided to interview one of the hikers. Kyle’s identification was enough to let them into the register, and later into the man’s house. “Three skeletons,” he said, “museum would have paid me money for them. What happened? Some one stole them.” He said. “Could you take us to the spot?” Derek asked. “You have money?” the man asked. “Yes.”
-Thursday, March 31, 2011- A small hole the ground loomed in front of them. It was just big enough for all four to get in together, but only Kyle went in. He quickly surveyed the ground, not daring to hope for the prints that could have been left. After all, it was five days since the robbery and most likely plenty of people had trampled any available marks. Then, suddenly, he saw it. A small piece of metal! Maybe, just maybe… He carefully brushed the dirt away, and picked it up in his gloved hands. “Mac, take this thing carefully and see if there are any fingerprints,” He ordered, handing it up. Mac went back to their rented car and brought out his fingerprinting set. “There are,” he called, “Derek, come here will you?” “What is it?” “Can you hack the city’s network?” “Can a bird fly?”
