1) windows IS spyware. confirmed fact.
2) i actually happen to know this. if you click through the updater without actually looking, it will autoinstall all aspects of windows live essentials. however, they won't show up as separate programs in the uninstall menu, because they're all a part of "windows live essentials". just run the WLE uninstaller and you'll have the options to remove whatever parts of WLE you want.
