I actually agree with pretty much everything Flipz said. Especially the last paragraph.
I also would like to say my dad is ex-army, and then was a cop for 3 years after that. (He quit the police because of bad pay, BTW). He's always had a thing for guns, and Breez taught me a lot. (Doesn't mean I can shoot with anything, but w/e)
First off, KF, revolvers are not used nearly at all anymore. Pistols are. There a big difference.
There are VERY few fully automatic weapons in the hands of the public - the military doesn't even really use them anymore. And all semi automatic means is that you don't have to manually load each bullet. One pull off the trigger, one Bullet fired. That means pretty much all guns fall under that rule, except for pump-action shotguns and bolt-action rifles. Those rifles are nearly nonexistent nowadays, so banning all semi-auto weapons would basically ban everything except some shotguns. That kills off recreational and professional hunting, sport shooting, and even means the police and military have to do significantly more training.
I also believe that the new gun laws are ridiculous. My father now will be imprisoned if he ever puts on the pistol grip chassis he bought for his rifle, which in some places isn't even considered a lethal weapon its so puny.
However, I'm off the opinion that, as Flipz said, there needs to be some sort of gun control. The fact that the average how can actually go or and by the same or better gun as the soldiers in the middle east are using is INSANE.
However, as Flipz also pointed out, I wouldn't trust any government official from the past couple decades to come up with (or adhere to) a gun control law that wasn't ridiculous.

Talk To Me Quote Archive I've got no place to go, I've got nowhere to run. They love to watch me fall, they think they know it all. I'm a nightmare, a disaster, that's what they always said. I'm a lost cause, not a hero, but I'll make it on my own. I've gotta prove them wrong - It's me against the world. It is, in the end, whatever the **** I want it to be. And when I'm through with it, it's gonna blow a hole this wide straight through the worlds own idea of itself. ... Come on, lets go break their arms.
