OK, the laptop is officially dead. I BARELY managed to get my important stuff backed up.
I'm probably going to get this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215409) as my new laptop (thanks for link, MTM), except...well, it's HDD is 5400 RPM. I'd much rather a 7200 RPM, especially since games like SWTOR take forever to load all the needed files....

I've heard that a 1TB 5400 RPM is as fast as a 500GB 7200 RPM...is this true? (Also, any tips for preventing bad sectors? Last August, my hard drive died and got replaced, and the replacement is the one that died an hour ago. I think Dell was probably at fault, but I don't want to risk it with the new laptop)
