You might not be seeing the "found" files because they are listed as system files.

You need to go to Control panel and look in folder options. select the view tab and then unselect the hide options on system and hidden files. while your at it I receommend unchecking them all so that you can see all files and files extensions.
normally chkdsk puts the found files in the root directory of your drive.

Just used my CD drive for the first time in ages only for the CD to get stuck in there.

You know what I found what I need online, I won't even bother trying to extract it. I don't use the thing ever anyways.

I tested the laptop in three outlets and it didn't work. So I assumed the issue was with the cable, especially since the outlets in my mom's office, where her computer is, and the outlet my TV is plugged into work. (So not ALL the outlets blew...just the ones I tested the charger cable on.)

I remember when we blew all the outlets in our dining room/office... Thought we blew the computer Tongue plugged in a hairdryer to all the outlets to see if they worked, and they didnt... So my dad just replaced the circut breaker and they worked again.
