So apparently the issue started BEFORE I clicked the bad link.  It seems that Windows Update somehow died and won't restart, which means the WHOLE dang computer is basically unuseable.  I'm transferring my documents onto the server, before we try more drastic measures of restoring the system. Sad

I was in the actual theater, however, as I stated, the movie had not started yet. In fact, the reason I was on MLNO was because I was bored - the pre show commercials that come before the trailers hasn't even started, and the overhead lights were on 100%. So no, I don't believe I was doing anything wrong. My rule to myself is once the lights dim, the phone's of. Till then, go ahead, be connected.

Trust me, I have no tolerance for people using anything visible or hear able once the movie actually starts. during previews is even iffy in my book.

It's still rude. You're inside a theatre, phones off by default. No messing around. You play by the theatre rules, not by your own. Like many things in life, you do not get to make up your own rules for a place you do not live in or own, let alone it being a place where other people go to for entertainment.

I fail to see how it's rude - when the lights are on, it doesn't affect anybody at all.

EDIT: also, the big "please silence your cell phones now" message and the no testing commercial don't even come up till right before the previews start, so it's not even breaking theater rules.

Also, I really enjoyed the movie, and I liked the high frame rate, as I expected to. However, I was kinda surprised to see that it was only half the book - now I'm itching for the sequel.

I think the 3rd movie will have some stuff from between Hobbit and Fellowship books, so it's probably more than a third of the book in this movie.

Ditto what Truth said.  IMO, the ending seemed a little off, but I blame the cinematographer/editors for odd shot lengths, and anyway it's a minor, minor nitpick with what's otherwise a really great movie. Wink
