if you (any people like you) don't understand the extreme benefits of being constantly connected, well then, yes, we do have a generation of idiots. but its not my generation.

(also, the cost of that original recording is so much why? oh yeah. record companies scamming people. anyone can record anything for, oh yeah, next to nothing.)
EDIT: yes, there are ALWAYS people who misuse what's given to them. but just as a few violent individuals should not ban guns for the world, a few druggies should not cripple pharmacudicals for the world, a few facebook addicts do not make smartphones evil. jeez. you call yourself an intelligent person.

*raises hand* I don't get why we have to CONSTANTLY be connected, does that make me a dumb person?
I agree that we should all have the ABILITY to be connected at all times. I don't think there's any good reason why anyone should not be allowed the ability to access the vast sea of information and innovation that is the internet, just like I don't think there's any reason anyone should be denied the ability to access a library. However, I also think we should have the ABILITY (and discipline!) to disconnect from technology and connect to each other, person to person, face to face.
For me,
constant connectivity looks like this:

We HAVE to maintain our humanty and our individuality, otherwise all of our progress as a species is for naught.
