PS: random tip: in pokemon leaf green or fire red, trade in a pokemon that knows cut so the SS Anne  never leaves. when you get surf go back and surf on the right of the SS Anne.  you will arrive on a T shaped island. if you use the Itemfinder, you will find a Lava Cookie. (but don't trust the rumors that say that Mew is there, I have tested all of them and found them false. Mew is not on the SS Anne.)

@BT:  Excellent.  That looks just about how I would raise a Dragonite.   Although, it never hurts to put Earthquake on a Pokemon.   Earthquake is, in my opinion, essential to have at least once in every team.  If you put it somewhere else, that's always good, too.  And of course, Salamance is always a bit more adept to Attack and Speed than Dragonite, so I suppose putting Earthquake on him would also have justification.

EQ is 80 Battle Points on the Battle Tower, and that's expensive, especially since I... Hey. I could beat the Tower Tycoon like 3 times to  get enough BP to buy one . Using a Pokemon that knows Pickup is pretty daunting too, as finding TM26 AKA Earthquake is only 1%.

And Dragonite is more on the Defensive side, so a Yache berry would be suitable for it. Basically a Defensive Salamence. And I just could clone on my Emerald for the TM26s, though it is very risky.

@Blade:  Oh yeah.  Actually, I was just thinking about that.  When I was sending you that PM about our battle, I thought "I should send him that extra Darkrai, but where is it?"  I guess I remember now.  

Not yet, but I suppose that's because I haven't had the time to work on it lately.  I have a Regigigas that I got from someone at SerebiiForums back in June '08 that was from the Japan Movie 11 Event.  If you preordered your movie ticket at the time, you got to download the special Regigigas onto your game.  It officially came out before Shaymin, which is why I originally assumed that Regigigas would come out at the same time, if not sooner, than Shaymin in the US.  

@herochild:  The whole Mew rumor started way back when even I was young and inexperienced, when the series was just getting started.  Of course, there were A LOT of glitches back then (Missingno, Glitch City, etc.), so people naturally bought into it.  

@BT:  Oh, I've got tons of cloned EQs on my Diamond Version.  You and I could trade, and I could get some to you, free of charge.  In all honesty, they're all going to waste anyway, so I don't have a use for them.  Of course, just about everything in the game is available for me to give away, excluding a select group of things.  

Um, don't make a defensive Salamance.  Dragonite is understandable, or at least more understandable than Salamance, but a defensive Salamance won't work out.  It contradicts his strengths and purpose.  Trust me, you're better off staying offensive.  

Cloning on Emerald?  Risky?  Nonsense, BT.  Cloning on Emerald, in my opinion, is the safest and most stable form of cloning in the entire series.  If you follow all of the steps correctly, there should never be any risk or problem, period.  Trust me, I've done it hundreds of times in my day.

yeah, who started that Mew rumor anyway? I think Nintendo just put that island in the game as a joke.
PS: using an Action Replay, I used a Walk Through Walls code to explore the other side of the island.  there is nothing there. there is also nothing in the celadon city hotel, the stairs don't even work.

i've singled out some Pokemon i will try to get in Plat:

Electivire-pretty even stats,lowish HP and late in game but decent
Infernape-I only picked it because Torterra won't let me have another Grass,Roserade,and Empoleon isn't great against gym leaders,and considering the difficulty to have a strong Fire-type by Gardenia.....
Roserade-I just like Budew,and pretty decent overall
Giratina-Well,why not?

My only problem is the water type. No realy good water-types,at least not without one major stat. Maybe i should trasfer a finneon.....

@Blade:  He refers to the hotel in the southeast corner of Celadon City.  You know, the one that won't allow Pokemon? 

@ddude:  Okay, here's my advice for a good team. 

First off, I would honestly stick with Torterra.  I suppose Roserade has its perks, but I honestly think Torterra is a better trade off, if you can work around its low Speed and 4x weakness to Ice. 

For the Fire-type, stick to either Infernape or Magmortar, although I would personally suggest Infernape.  Do NOT pick Rapidash, period.  The other two are far superior. 

However, between the two I suggested, Infernape would be better.  His Attack and Speed are incredible, and he has quite a variety in his movepool.  His defenses are admittedly crippled, but if you make him into the perfect physical sweeper, you should be just fine.  

As for a Water-type, stick with Empoleon, Floatzel, or Gastrodon.  All three are good, and have their ups and downs.  Floatzel is great for physical sweeping, but his movepool is a bit lackluster, and a few well-aimed hits can take him down easily.  Empoleon has fairly decent typing, and can have a pretty good movepool, but he can still be easily tripped up by a quick physical sweeper.  Gastrodon is a pretty good choice, as well, and offers somewhere in between the two.  He has a pretty average movepool, and can be pretty quick if executed correctly, but one or two well aimed Grass-type attacks will send it down in flames, and with the rising need for Grass-type attacks for Pokemon with Gastrodon's typing of the Water/Ground split, you'll always want to be wary of that.  Other than that, there aren't any really respectable Water-types, so you should stick with one of those three. 

Togekiss can be pretty good in battle, but you have to use him just right.  The ParaFlinch strategy always works well with him. 

You mean Giratina for a team?  I suppose that's up to you, but I don't really see the fun in going through the game using an Uber to win battles. :-\ 

I suppose that's a general overview for a good team, not just for you, but for everyone.  If there's any further advice needed, I'm always here to provide it.

Current test: in fire red and leaf green, if I use walk through Walls to leave the starting area without getting a pokemon and then get in a battle, will I be using MissingNo as my Pokemon? I'l post the results as soon as I can.

that movie reminded me of something: if you use walk through walls to go to that poster behind the poke mart clerk, the poster is readable! maybe there used to be a way to go behind the counter in the early stages of the game?
oh, and I tried it out. that movie is correct. but that pokemon (The ? one) is MissingNo (at least one of them.)

MissingNo. was a common glitch in the early Pokemon Red/Blue.

I'm pretty sure that Invisible Bulbasaur applies for both RSE and DP...
