Dolill's Story

“An-tue-oneee-ah-ho-ho-ho-ho, an-tue-oneee-ah-ho-ho-ho-ho, an-tue-oneee-ah-ho-ho-ho-ho, an-tue-oneee-ah-ho-ho-ho-ho, an-tue-oneee-ah-ho-ho-ho-ho-HU!”
“My gosh!” I thought, “are they still at it?!”
Sorry if that wasn’t a proper introduction. My name is Dolill. My mom is Hehewuti and my dad is Vihow. My Mom, Dad, and Achaki, the medicine man, are still at it, practicing their ancient Indian rituals. I can’t believe they still do those things! My ancestors did them years age to bring peace, but all they bring now is a headache to my head.
.We would be a lot better off if we had just followed Hokee’s advice about putting a wi-fi transmitter in the totem pole so we didn’t have to do all this fancy stuff to do something-or-another with the totem pole.
You might wonder what the wi-fi transmitter would be for. Well, most people don’t know that we put rocks with carvings in the inside of the totem pole. I know, it seems mad. I think so, too.
“Dolill,” My mom interrupted, “Have you cleaned your room yet? He’s is coming to dinner tonight!”
.“Yes, Mom!” I replied.
Why does she even ask me that? I always clean up my in the morning. Anyway, Acahaki comes to dinner every night, so I really don’t know why she wants me to clean up my room. It’s not as if we’re eating dinner in my room.
“We really need to make a great impression, to show him our respect for him and his idea!” my Mom said, not yet finished.
.“What?!” I replied. Acahaki’s new idea was to make an even bigger totem pole!
“Acahaki’s coming to dinner, too, you know,” she said.
“Wait, I thought Acahaki was the other person coming? Is the other person Kotori?” I asked, completely bewildered now.
“No,” my mom said, and then, more thoughtfully, “but thanks for reminding me. He’s coming, too.”
.“Wait,” I said, even more bewildered than I believed possible, “If Kotori and Acahaki aren’t the guest, then who is?”
My mom looked surprised. “I thought you would have guessed it already!” se said. “The guest is…Hokee! We’ve decided to use his idea for the totem pole, so everyone agrees that he should come back!”
My mind was spinning. I couldn’t believe it! Hokee was coming back! For a minute, I just stood there, my mouth open in shock.
.“You’re…you’re letting him come back?” I managed to say, still in a state of shock.
“Why, yes Dolill, why, is there something wrong with that?” my mom said surprised. She knew that I wanted Hokee back soooo bad, so, to me, she looked a bit confused.
“No,” I said, “
THIS IS AWSOME!!!!!!! I CAN’T BELIVE HOKEE’S COMING BACK, I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!."
“Are you all right Dolill?” my mom asked. My “little” outburst had been unexpected, so I probably shocked her.
“Of course I’m okay,” I said, so happy I felt like dancing, “Its just… this took me by surprise, so… I really wasn’t expecting this.”
Just then, the door opened, and when I looked, it seemed too good to be true! It was Hokee!
