Hey, I managed to think about my classmates at school today without being overcome by a wave of bitterness and/or loneliness!  That's progress, at least.  Maybe I have a shot of making it to college on Tuesday without being completely and obviously depressed!

The Luprechaun is hosting it’s first contest! This time of year there is going to be a lot of people thinking about LU and instead of dwelling on it ending, why not channel some of that energy and put it into some awesome creations. Nexus Jay would have wanted it that way.

I’m going to be intentionally a bit fuzzy on the guidelines and timelines because this is the first attempt at such a thing and not sure how it will all go over. What I’d like to see is real life brick creations of Lego Universe situations. This could be anything from gear, figs, all the way up to recreating dragon hunting on Caldera Mar or BONS.  The key is, make it real bricks, not cgi, no Digital Design or anything computery. You can ( and should! ) use customization or 3rd party bricks to get just the right look.

I’d like to make an important distinction between this contest and some of the LU contests in the later days of the game: this one has real prizes and we will deliver. The prizes are going to be unique and kind of awesome, scientifically engineered to delight specifically LU fans.

Ideally I’d like to run this contest until the end of January and mark the anniversary of the closing of the game with a celebration. I’ll be posting this on various LU sites around the interwobs over the next week but feel free to spread the word!

I will also create a flickr group for this where you can submit as well, but all that infrastructure stuff will happen in the next couple of days.

One more rule: it can’t have been posted, shared on the net or entered in a previous contest. New stuff! If you have a bunch of gear you’ve already made then feel free to incorporate that into a brand new scene.

Anyone else think these comics are irritating and diluting any possible discussion that could be happening, and should go in their own 'Comics' topic? It would be much easier to see a post I was responding to if it wasn't blocked by several bloody oversized comics.

All of the above? If this is correct, then yes, comics can be posted there too. I personally have images turned off on my phone, so I don't see them. They were taking too long to load.

Correction: The title states this is a general/random discussion topic, not a random topic. If you want the definition of a random topic, as you said, CTAM is probably a better fitting place until the creation of a comics topic.

I think General/Random and CtaM are the correct places for comics to go, at least for now. I wouldn't mind an actual Comics topic, though.



Also: Wind Waker HD Remake for Wii U.  Why am I not excited?

Apparently the issues I have been having with my left leg have the doctors concerned, so I have to go in for more tests. If they say its due to heavy lifting.... I think my job owes me, big time.

 800mg of pain killers....  Motrin type or Vicodin type??
 800mg of Motrin will rip your kidneys & liver pretty fast..
Vicodin is a little less hard on your kidneys, and liver, but it has side effects of its own:
1. Dizziness
2. Vomiting
3. It tends to make people sleepy.
4. It can cause short term loss of memory.
5. Dehydration
6. Depression
7. Blurred vision
8. Allergies
